This iced coffee protein shake recipe is an absolute winner, especially now that summer’s just around the corner.

Forget having to get your frappe fix from one of those coffee chains — who wants to queue for an overpriced, mocha-chocca-fancy-lattissimo anyway? You’ll probably have maxed out your recommended sugar intake after a few gulps of one, too.

We think whizzing up this delicious chocolate coconut frappe from the comfort of your own kitchen is a much better idea. In just a few minutes you’ll have an ice cold, creamy shake that isn’t just incredibly refreshing — but packs in an impressive 21g of protein and is just 188 calories per serving. Now that's what we call a strong start to your day.

Whether you want to mix up your morning shakes, or need something super-chill to sort you out post-workout, this recipe is the way forward.

Plus, there’s plenty of room for experimenting with other ingredients if you were feeling a little more adventurous. You could try adding half of a chopped banana for boost of natural sugars and potassium, or go nuts with a dollop of peanut butter for extra indulgence. The sky’s the limit.
