Disgusting

Normally a lover of myprotein products, this is the worst protein I've ever had. It does not mix and smells like plasticine...in fact I had to go back and check it was the 'vanilla' flavour I had bought. There is certainly no vanilla taste! The texture is very strange-which accounts for it not mixing very well. Don't buy this product, unless you are lactose intolerant and absolutely desperate to take protein shakes!! I too have 1kg minus one scoop going straight into the bin!

Nothing...even paint stripper wouldn't disguise the taste!

I usually have impact whey isolate but thought I'd try something different, I wish I hadn't. It's shockingly bad. Ridiculously thick and tastes nothing like chocolate smooth. Doesn't mix well with anything! Trying to get a refund so fingers crossed

Nothing! Best off in the bin

Matcha new flavour.

Matcha flavour is pretty awful. The worst protein I've tasted so far. It tastes like the unflavoured version but with a tea bag cut open and mixed in. Nothing else wrong with this whey protein though as I've tried the other flavours and they are great tasting. Mixes well and doesn't give bloated upset stomach. I'd avoid Matcha flavour unless you are a hardcore tea lover. Not a big deal for me though as I can down most things anyway.

Soy Protein Isolate: Not So Friendly.. Soy processors have worked hard to get these antinutrients out of the finished product, particularly soy protein isolate (SPI) which is the key ingredient in most soy foods that imitate meat and dairy products, including baby formulas and some brands of soy milk. SPI is not something you can make in your own kitchen. Production takes place in industrial factories where a slurry of soy beans is first mixed with an alkaline solution to remove fiber, then precipitated and separated using an acid wash and, finally, neutralized in an alkaline solution. Acid washing in aluminum tanks leaches high levels of aluminum into the final product. The resultant curds are spray-dried at high temperatures to produce a high-protein powder. A final indignity to the original soybean is high-temperature, high-pressure extrusion processing of soy protein isolate to produce textured vegetable protein (TVP). Much of the trypsin inhibitor content can be removed through high-temperature processing, but not all. Trypsin inhibitor content of soy protein isolate can vary as much as fivefold.21 (In rats, even low-level trypsin inhibitor SPI feeding results in reduced weight gain compared to controls.22) But high-temperature processing has the unfortunate side effect of so denaturing the other proteins in soy that they are rendered largely ineffective.23 That's why animals on soy feed need lysine supplements for normal growth. Nitrites, which are potent carcinogens, are formed during spray-drying, and a toxin called lysinoalanine is formed during alkaline processing.24 Numerous artificial flavorings, particularly MSG, are added to soy protein isolate and textured vegetable protein products to mask their strong "beany" taste and to impart the flavor of meat.25 In feeding experiments, the use of SPI increased requirements for vitamins E, K, D, and B12 and created deficiency symptoms of calcium, magnesium, manganese, molybdenum, copper, iron, and zinc.26 Phytic acid remaining in these soy products greatly inhibits zinc and iron absorption; test animals fed SPI develop enlarged organs, particularly the pancreas and thyroid gland, and increased deposition of fatty acids in the liver.27

Too thick

I decided to try soy instead of whey as it's cheaper and has higher protein content, however it doesn't mix well at all. I've tried it in both Greek yogurt and porridge and it makes it stodgy and gloopy. Adding extra milk does help the consistency but I don't want to have to use half a carton every time.
Goes Well With:
Lots of milk or yogurt

Imagine angel delight...

Overall:

I bought this after finding out I have a lactose intolerance, and mix it with Lactofree milk. I wish I had read reviews beforehand as the mix-ability and taste is a bit odd to say the least Imagine a supermarket branded Angel Delight...I had to eat it out of my protein shaker with a spoon and it took a little while. It's also a little grainy but I can cope with that. Definitely not a supplement you can chug post-gym!

Use this protein for the high protein contact and the fact that I choose not to consume dairy. I haven't tried the chocolate flavour because of the lower protein percentage, and you can just add cocoa powder to unflavoured and add a sweetener of your choice. Unflavoured: I used to only get the unflavoured protein as I add it to smoothies, this is a really good way to increase protein intake without affecting the taste of the smoothie too much. All the negative reviews of the unflavoured I've read are people who expected they could just add it to water and it would be flavorless, really good if you are mixing it with something and also good baked into protein brownies or as protein pancakes/waffles. Strawberry Cream: Love the taste of this one! got to increase my protein intake in a more convenient way, rather than making smoothies all the time. Actually, enjoy the taste of this one. You do need to add more water than it says to on the pack, otherwise you end up with a really thick pudding like consistency rather than a shake. Vanilla: I got this one because the strawberry flavour was out of stock (and matcha wasn't out yet). I don't mind the taste, I don't really enjoy it but it's bearable. I've grown used to the flavour but will definitely go back to the strawberry one as soon as I run out.

I have tried other dairy free products which don't have a choice of flavours, so I was delighted to find chocolate flavoured soy protein. And I was not disappointed. It mixes well just with the shaker, no blender required. And it tastes smooth, creamy and chocolatey, You would think it was high in calories by the rich taste, but thankfully it is not! I was enjoying my breakfast to say the least. Only thing I will say is that it does leave a strong after taste but I can cope with that as it's really nice at the time. It also kept me full all morning. Highly recommend.

I bought both the Belgian chocolate and vanilla to add variety. While the Belgian chocolate us really tasty, the same cannot be said about the vanilla one. Really nasty taste on its own. Viscosity isn't the problem, just the flavour. I even have the bag (minus one scoop) to a friend who also finds it unpalatable.

The product itself is good, I don't want to highlight it's weak points because I knew what I was buying - an unflavoured soy protein isolate. However, To drink it on its own with water or milk is near enough impossible - it's unpalettable. Tastes like wet cardboard I blend it with a handful of blueberries and blackberries and skimmed milk - which does enough to make it drinkable. I could go further with the recipe and start adding more and more flavour, but it defeats the object of what I wanted this product for - LOW SUGAR PROTEIN SOURCE As far as low sugar low carb protein is concerned it's the best there is - just make sure you're imaginative enough to make it taste a bit better. I'm happy with it - because it fits my diet needs. Is the flavour good? No, not at all - but you can fix that. My only genuinely negative response to it was the delivery time. It took over a week.
