"I read these reviews, but thought they must be overexaggerated, and seeing as I have a strong stomach, decided to give pea protein a go. WHAT A MISTAKE! I've tried every other animal-free protein going and believe me, pea protein tastes like sh*t! Far worse than anything I've ever tasted. Even as part of a protein shake containing banana, milk, peanut butter etc, the taste still dominates. I've resorted to downing this stuff with breath held now and can't wait til my batch is finished and I can get some rice or soya that doesn't make me wanna throw up every day."

"This stuff didn't taste half as bad as most below are stating, I mean, yeah, it's not the greatest taste in the world, but then again, which protein shakes are?\n\nI bought some berry blast flavoring to go with and it completely masks the taste, as does your local brand squash.\n\nthe powder mixes quite well too, not the gritty texture like you get with some other proteins.\n\nThe only real downside to it being is that it's not a "complete" protein, but then again, that's not MP's fault... it's the peas, and all you gotta do is buy the brown rice isolate together with this and you're sorted!"

"I couldn't drink it with water or orange juice - it just tastes too bad. However if you mix one scoop with 4 spoonfuls of choco drink, it's almost like Schwartz' finest :)\r\n\r\nDry it !"

"im not a big fan of peas, but i thought i would give this a try, how bad can it be? thats what i thought, when i first opened this i knew it wasnt going to be the best tasting so i took it to the gym with me, and after mywork out i filled it with water and started to drink it, i somehow managedd to get half way, and i was forced to stop in fear of being sick on the spot, i thought it must of been a heavy workout, so i tried again that night, and the same thing happened. the next day i left my friend try it, he added water and mixed it, he tasted it so did i, we both agreed it is TRUELY TERRIBLE! so we added orange juice, some of the taste went anyway, he manage to finish it, and sure enough under 40seconds later he was being sick in my bathroom! if you think you wont like you then you wont, trust me pleaasse, i have only got 1kg so i was lucky not to for got more, which i wont be, offical g rating of 0gs, taste is seriously 0/5"

"I have been told that it's best to consume a 4:1 carb:protein ratio mix within half an hour of completing a running session, then again within the next two hours. This protein mixed with pure fruit juice is a healthy and convenient way to do this. \r\n\r\nIt has a very neutral taste so works well with orange juice. Compared with Brown Protein isolate it mixes much more easily and the taste when mixed with water is far more tolerable.\r\n\r\nI would recommend this to anyone seeking a cheap dairy-free protein. Don't be tempted to save a few quid and get the rice stuff - like me you'll soon regret it.\r\n\r\n"

"The reviewer who described this powder as 'intensely bland' was spot on. But I don't understand those who say it tastes 'nasty'. True, I don't think it is something you can mix with water and drink, like, say whey powder. But it IS a good additive to other dishes and it doesn't overwhelm the taste of the food.\r\n\r\nI bought an unflavoured batch and have so far found it is a good additive/protein boost in curries, casseroles and even when a large teasponnful is stirred into a can of those healthy eating baked beans. Experiment, people!"

"It tastes awful when mixed with water - it has a kind of \""intensely bland\"" flavour that's very offputting. However, you can mix it with vegetables in a stew or soup and it goes surprisingly well. The best things I've found to mix it with are ketchup, marmite and strong spices."

"Really good for vegans if you're not fond of soya protein! This powder mixes very well (i take it just with water). I've always found the taste, even though i ordered it flavoured as Banana, to be pretty horrible, so i would definitely recommend flavouring it with something strong! At the price they have it on here, you can't go wrong!"

Mixes very well 100% smooth. Def an acquired taste. Not the most paletable protein out there but have tasted worse! Overall drinkable & good protein at price.
