I have used calcium caseinate for over 25 years, I used to buy it from Boots in the small 200g packets but it was costing a fortune. I have competed at national level as a bodybuilder and have always recommended this product as a fantastic slow release protein, which in my opinion just didn't get the coverage it deserved (whey etc being all the rage). Unfortunately for Myprotein it is the end of the road with this product for me. For some bizarre reason it seems like someone has decided to add lecithin as an additional additive! I have no idea why... well I do know why, but it has no place being added to this product and has totally ruined a very good source of protein. Caseinate was never the best for tasting nice or even mixing as you require a substantial amount of fluids to mix it correctly, but taste for me was never of any interest, it`s what it does that counts, and it does it very well. With the additive it's now impossible to mix and quite frankly even I struggle with the taste and texture. I`d liken it to drinking sand... utterly vile. I don't think this was ever the most popular supplement, but I feel My protein has finally put the nail in the coffin for this. Well done guys, a job well done!Goes Well With:Used to go well with whey...not anymore!!
People complain about mixing with water, mix with almond butter instead, 1 scoop of this in a bowl, mix with half a tea spoon of chilli powder and a tea spoon of cinemon then mash together with about 3-5 table spoons of almond butter, makes a cracking pudding/paste low in carbs high in good fat and packed wth protein, stop moanng and use your loaf!!! P.s this is based on using chocolate flavourGoes Well With:Almond butter, chilli and cinemon
I have purchased this product before in a smaller amount and it was alright, unfortunately this time the unflavoured one is really not on my taste. It feels like you have a dairy farm in your mouth and it doesn't mix well either. Quite disappointed Goes Well With:Nothing, I tried coco powder, almond milk, coconut water......nothing works well with it
Effective stuff but the mixability is so bad. After shaking the result is a foamy cream and u need a spoon to eat it.Goes Well With:a spoon
To a 300ml 'clip and seal' beaker I add 35g of powder (unflavoured), one teaspoon of horlicks and 225 - 250ml of skimmed milk. Shake hard for 20 seconds then leave for 5 minutes. It sets like a mousse and you can tuck in with a spoon. Up to you what milk and flavours you add but this ends up like a treat at the end of the day of work, training and bland low fat food.Goes Well With:An early night to recover and grow
I don't really care about taste and tbh have never really cared that a shake doesn't mix too well until now. It's mixability takes the P I double S, it is so thick that is got stuck in my shaker and adding more water only makes it worse. I wish I could get a different product.
I have used Optimun Nutritions Casein Protein Powder a number of times, mostly the chocolate variety. I enjoyed the taste of this and could easily put a double serving in water and drink easily before bed and enjoy the shake. MyProtein's Casein powder though tastes very bad, and does not mix well at all. Even just with a single serving and lots of water this is not an enjoyable shake. I have tried experimenting with different ways to consume as I dislike the shake so much and the only palatable use for it I have found is to mix with my oats and use as a meal replacement. The mixture becomes very dry and stodgy but at least edible. MyProtein offers great value which is why I started using their products, however this is one where I think I would rather pay the extra for a more premium and enjoyable product.Goes Well With:Oats
I normally disparage people who leave 1 star reviews as going overboard but after getting this, I can't honestly say it's not good enough to get 2. I bought one kilo of the chocolate flavour. The first thing I noticed was that the mixability was very poor. I used 400ml of milk with 1 scoop of the powder (as the instructions said) and after 2 shakes, it stopped moving around in the flask. When I looked inside, it had turned into a semi-solid goop that was somewhat disgusting. I added another 100ml of milk but it did little to help. Even then, when I rinsed out the flask, there were still solid, unmixed lumps, and plenty of them. I usually put my protein shakes in a glass to drink but with this one, it didn't pour out of the flask. I had to scoop it out with a spoon. This stuff was more like angel delight than a milk shake, drinking it just wasn't an option, it had to be eaten. I really wanted to try and get this all down but after eating one third, I just had to give up. The taste was terrible and I just couldn't stomach it any further. I can't comment on effectiveness for obvious reasons. Now I'm quite annoyed that I've wasted around 25 on this dreadful product that I simply cannot eat. I'm very disappointed, especially after how much I enjoyed the MyProtein Impact Whey. Goes Well With: Nothing that I know of.
I consider myself a person who can stomach anything but this protein I found un-drinkable, very chalky, with no real taste (even when doubled up with about 30 drops of flavour on top of the strawberry flavoured protein) it was still undrinkable. I can't comment on effectiveness because I wasn't able to fully try it. I suggest that if you are going to buy this, get a sample first, you will thank me after.
My protein supplements are the solution of every problem which our body need to recover. No other supplements can beat its results.Protein deficiency and malnutrition (PEM) can lead to variety of ailments including mental retardation and kwashiorkor. Symptoms of kwashiorkor include apathy, diarrhea, inactivity, failure to grow, flaky skin, fatty liver, and edema of the belly and legs. This edema is explained by the action of lipoxygenase on arachidonic acid to form leukotrienes and the normal functioning of proteins in fluid balance and lipoprotein transport.PEM is fairly common worldwide in both children and adults and accounts for six million deaths annually. In the industrialized world, PEM is predominantly seen in hospitals, is associated with disease, or is often found in the elderly. If my review is helpful then you can use mu referral code above. My protein supplements have all those benefits which our body need to grow and transform.Protein supplements are good after a workout is one of the best time to get protein into the body so that the protein can be delivered to your muscles, to begin healing the micro tears i.e very small tears in the muscle tissue, caused by intense contraction of the muscle during workout in the muscle.Because solid food takes more time to digest and to break down the protein and send it to the muscles, it can be best to take a protein shake immediately following a workout, since protein shakes only take about thirty minutes to reach the muscle after ingestion.we can see the advantage to taking a protein.Whey protein has become a favorite supplement for those seeking to put on muscle and enhance their physiques as well as improve their health. In order to decipher which protein is best for a particular need, typically one would use a specific gauge of some sort to determine which protein to use.
I feel this is one of the slowest releasing proteins available and one of the best to keep you feeling full when running on very low calories, i find it to mix very thick and always require a powerful blender to mix properly, this can become quite gloopy if mixed with too little water so a generous amount is required, this was the first ever protein that i used and worked great in allowing for me to add allot of lean muscle mass, i feel it works great for mass gaining when mixed with whole milk, peanut butter and a banana or two. This also works well when mixed with whey protein to provide a more balanced slower release of amino acids, i do feel micellar casein is a nicer version to mix and slightly better tasting but overall this is still and effective protein source and one i would recommend to anyone looking for a very slow absorbing and filling protein source which is ideal for fat loss phases due to it filling the stomach and reducing cravings for long periods of time. if you found any value in this review then please use code: GEOFF - RDT (no space in between dash and letters) and all in capital letters at checkout to get up to 85% off order depending on current offers, thanks and i hope this was of benefit to you :). Goes Well With:water, milk, banana, peanut butter, dieting and fat loss phases
My protein supplements are the best in all terms which everybody need to transform.Digestion typically begins in the stomach when pepsinogen is converted to pepsin by the action of hydrochloric acid, and continued by trypsin and chymotrypsin in the small intestine. Before the absorption in the small intestine, most proteins are already reduced to single amino acid or peptides of several amino acids. Most peptides longer than four amino acids are not absorbed. Absorption into the intestinal absorptive cells is not the end. There, most of the peptides are broken into single amino acids.Absorption of the amino acids and their derivatives into which dietary protein is degraded is done by the gastrointestinal tract. The absorption rates of individual amino acids are highly dependent on the protein source; for example, the digestibilities of many amino acids in humans, the difference between soy and milk proteins and between individual milk proteins, beta-lactoglobulin and casein. For milk proteins, about fifty percent of the ingested protein is absorbed between the stomach and the jejunum and nighty percent is absorbed by the time the digested food reaches the ileum. Biological value is a measure of the proportion of absorbed protein from a food which becomes incorporated into the proteins of the organism's body. Thanks.
My protein whey is an important source for our muscles to built mass.Whey protein is a mixture of proteins isolated from whey. Whey is the liquid part of milk that separates during cheese production.Milk actually contains two main types of protein: casein (80%) and whey (20%). Whey is found in the watery portion of milk. When cheese is produced, the fatty parts of the milk coagulate and the whey is separated from it as a by-product . If you've ever opened a yogurt container to see liquid floating on top, this is whey. Cheese makers used to discard it before they discovered its commercial value. After being separated during cheese production, whey goes through a series of processing steps to become what people generally recognize as whey protein,a powder that is added to shakes, meal replacements and protein bars. Whey protein doesn't taste very good on its own, which is why it is usually flavoured. Chocolate, vanilla and strawberry flavored powders are popular. It's important that you read the ingredients list, because some of them can have unhealthy additives like refined sugar.Taking whey protein is a convenient way to add 25-50 grams of protein on top of your daily intake. This can be important for bodybuilders and gym enthusiasts, as well as people who need to lose weight or are simply lacking protein in their diet. Most flavored whey proteins are also pretty delicious and can be used to make healthy recipes (like smoothies) taste incredibly good.Whey is generally well tolerated, although people with lactose intolerance need to be careful with it. There are also some people who are allergic to whey.
Bought it about 1 month ago and i like it. I don't care about taste too much, although tastes good in my opinion (i've got vanilla flavour) or how it mixing ,yes it is foamy a bit ,so what... It is a nice product at a very good price .What i care is the result and i'm gonna buy it again.Goes Well With:i mix it with water before bed and put in my morning oats with milk.
I normally take the micellar casein before bed or a meal replacement which tastes and mixes perfect but I wanted to try the caseinate out of curiosity. Got the chocolate flavour which tasted horrible and artificial. After blending it I ended up with a very grainy thick texture which I had to use a spoon to eat. Will use only when I have to now. Dissapointed. Stick with miceller. Goes Well With:A lot of water
Upon first use thought this stuff was a bit odd - as it turns into a mousse when mixing. Then it dawned on me great that was! Whack 300ml of Unsweetened Almond Milk in your shaker, shake like crazy for about a minute, wait another minute while it sets, then tuck in with a spoon! Chocolate Mousse Pudding every night before bed - and still on the gains train! - Genius!Goes Well With:Pudding cravings & overnight protein!
Im review about calcium casein non flaworet original taste like you aspect it's not a best but it's beer worksGoes Well With:With low fat milk or water
This stuff absorbs way to much water. Don't dare put 2 scoops in 1 shaker or you will end up with an undrinkable slop. I tried mixing mine with instant oats and the stuff just set solid. I had Chocolate Smooth flavor and its was okay but not as good as other chocolate flavors from this shop. Definitely won't buy this again. Waste of money.Goes Well With:Tons and tons of water
I have been taking MP calcium caseinate for several weeks now and it has proven itself to be an effective and easy to use supplement. What makes this product quite remarkable is the fact that the powder basically has zero carbohydrates and yet still maintains a decent chocolatey taste. In my opinion I would even go so far as to say the chocolate flavour beats the powders with carbs I have tried in the past. The powder mixes easily into milk and water and, I assume, any liquid with comparable consistency. One general thing I have noticed with powders containing casein is that no matter how well mixed they are, the resulting shake seems to have a slightly gritty texture - but this is something I have seen even in much more expensive products. I have also used the product to boost the protein content of my home made flapjacks and have not noticed any negative impact on their taste or consistency. In terms of effectiveness, I use this product as a source of slow-digesting protein throughout the day and the chocolate flavour really does make this both tasty and easy. On a personal note, I would add that this protein seems to make me feel fuller for longer - especially compared to whey products, which makes sticking to my nutritional plan that little bit easier. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a slow digesting protein that tastes good, has a great nutritional profile, and is real value for money. Goes Well With:Milk / Water / Oats / Smoothies
