Hooks

The hooks bent on first day of using them

Great bang for buck

Compared to competing brands out there, these hooks are quite cost effective, the overall build of the velcro is very sturdy and the friction adapters are made of good material. Cons: It seems that the two hooks I have are at a slight different angle, which is a bit annoying, but in all likelihood wouldn't be noticed by everyone. I use them still, and regularly for pulling exercises.

Bending

I was deadlifting 150 with these and I could feel the hook bending back straight as I was lifting. Although these are real comfortable and help a lot with less weight, I think maybe they could be made better for heavier weight

Great value

Have been using these straps to help with heavier deadlifts and shrugs. They can allow me to continue a 120kg shrug up to 30 reps whereas before my grip would let up after around 20 now its my traps which give in first, which is exactly what I was looking for. Could not recommend these more, after a years use they are still going strong. Every month or so the metal hooks can warp out of shape but you can put them right by forcing them right again with you hands or a hammer if needs be.

Broke upon first use

1

I have been shopping with MP for many years as the quality of their products are generally excellent, which is why they make up the overwhelming majority of my supplement stack. However these hooks were not up to par and were bent, becoming entirely useless upon *first* use at a meager load of 70 kg.

If only

It would have been a Great product, if only they didn't make them the other way around

Should of bought them sooner!

These are comfortable to wear, well made, stitching seems good so far,the hooks are strong-only lifted 80kg with them so far but really helped as I have poor hand grip strength (arthritis) Would definitely recommend them

Myprotein Iron Hooks

1

Did not last at all! I used them twice and the material that holds the the hook wore through from friction, so now one of the hooks falls out of place. They can't hold weight safely either, they don't sit comfortably in turn not allowing you to grip around them. This causes you to have an even worse grip and when you shrugging 100+ Kg's dropping the weight is not a very nice experience. What a waste of money in my opinion.
Goes Well With:
looking good on the floor while you use "straps" to lift!

Good grip.

I dont know if Im getting on with these Myprotein Iron Hooks. Theyre easy to use, I just keep trapping the skin on my fingers between the hook and the bar. If the hook was the same diameter as a barbell it wouldnt happen, but then its got to be a universal hook size to fit all. It definitely enables you to lift more, dumbbell / barbell rows, chins. I've only used them twice, so need to bed them in a bit. But overall it's very good for the money.
Goes Well With:
weak forearms!
