The day when gyms are re-opening is looming, with the government announcing that gyms can open from 25th July. It’s so close, we can even smell the squat racks. The home workouts have served the fitness community well for some time now but those barbells are calling.

We’ve rounded up the opening times for some of the bigger gyms:

PureGym

PureGym is starting to open up from the 25th of July. However, there are a few gyms that aren’t opening until the 27th July — trying to tease all the members that go to:

  • London St Pauls
  • London Tower Hill
  • London Wall
  • London Waterloo

They also have a few gyms which don’t yet have a re-opening date — devasting news. This can be found on their website along with the times on the homepage of your local PureGym.

JD Gyms

Members of JD Gym are lucky — they’ve been able to re-open all their from the 25th July with the normal opening hours in the week. However, on the weekends the hours have slightly changed.

Weekdays: 6am – 10pm

Weekends: 8am – 4pm

At all of their gyms, there is turnstile technology that will monitor how many people are entering and exiting. Additionally, they have been able to space out equipment due to the large buildings they operate in, so all your worries can be put aside.

Any more questions? Go to the FAQs page on their website.

Anytime Fitness

Anytime Fitness will be re-opening on the 25th July which is great. However, it won’t be the 24-hour gym you know and love due to government restrictions, which means they'll be on reduced hours.

They've put plenty of time and effort into making sure they're ready for the re-opening on the 25th. Check out our article on what gyms will look like during COVID.

The Gym

Popular budget gym option, The Gym, is also coming back on the 25th and they will also be working on slightly reduced hours.

The gyms will be open 6 am - 10 pm Monday to Friday, and 8 am - 8 pm Saturday and Sunday. For any FAQs visit The Gym website.

Take-Home Message

If you’re anything like us, you’ve been waiting for what feels like a lifetime for gyms to be back in action again. We’re already daydreaming about how amazing it’s going to be to walk in, pick up a pair of dumbbells and smash out a set of curls. It’s been so long that even the cardio equipment is looking tasty...
