Four bean chilli

 

If your vegetarian or vegan sometimes getting enough protein through food alone can be difficult! Many people don’t know that foods such as beans and pulses can provide large amounts of muscle building protein! So quite dwelling on that you can get enough and start getting creative in the kitchen! This four bean Chilli is easy to make and an ideal warm lunch for a cold day!

 

 

Ingredients

 

To make this bean chilli you’ll need:

 

1/3 a tin of black eyed beans

1/3 a tin of Borlotti beans

1/3 a tin of Haricot Beans

½ a tin of red kidney beans

3 small tomatoes

1 tin of chopped tomatoes

2 cloves of garlic

Garlic salt

1 onion

½ a green pepper

½ a red pepper

2 mushrooms

1 green chilli

Preparation

 

Step One

 

Start by chopping all your vegetables.

Into a pan add your beans, herbs, vegetables and tin of chopped tomatoes.

Step Two

 

Heat the chilli ingredients until the mixture starts to bubble.

Place a lid on the pan and allow to simmer for 20 minutes.

 

Step Three

 

Add your seasonings, and serve onto a bed of spinach, or mini mountain of quinoa or buckwheat!
