Yes you read right… protein ginger bread men! Is there anything we can’t make with protein powder! This recipe is the perfect high protein alternative to those sugary ginger treats we all love to enjoy at Christmas. So get on your onsie, turn on the fire and get making these Christmasy treats!
Here’s what you’ll need to make these protein gingerbread men:
100g of kamut flour
3 scoops of vanilla impact whey protein
45g of honey
3 tablespoons of sweetener
15g of coconut oil
30g of olive oil
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
2 teaspoons of ground ginger
½ scoop of vanilla casein or milk protein smooth
50g of Quark
Preheat your oven to 175 degrees Celsius.
In a bowl combine kamut flour, impact whey, sweetener, cinnamon and ground ginger.
Add 15g of melted coconut oil and 30g of olive oil and stir into the mixture.
Using a spoon mash the oil into the dry mix as best you can- or rub the mixture using your finger tips.
Add and stir 45g of honey into the mix.
Add one egg and stir thoroughly into the mix.
Once the egg has been fully mixed in, begin pressing the mixture together and forming a dough ball in your hands, squeezing the dough.
Using a rolling pin roll the dough out and cut out your gingerbread shapes.
Bake in the oven for around 5 minutes.
Remove and allow to cool.
While the gingerbread cools combine quark, casein and 5 drops of vanilla FlavDrops in a bowl.
To make your own piping bag, add the mix to a sandwich bag and squeeze into a corner of the bag. Cut a tiny piece of the corner off. Once the gingerbread has cooled add your desired patterns!
This mix makes about 15 ginger bread men.
