Ever fancied French toast in the morning but didn’t have the time to make it? Try whipping up this protein-packed French toast the night before and whacking it in the oven while you get ready for a truly satisfying and healthy sweet breakfast…
… or lunch… or dinner!
Makes: 12 servings
✓ 1 loaf High Protein Bread
✓ 6 large eggs
✓ 500ml milk
✓ 1 tbsp. cinnamon plus extra to top
✓ Pinch salt
✓ 8-10 drops Vanilla FlavDrops
✓ 75ml Sugar-Free Syrup (Maple flavour) plus extra to top
✓ 50g crushed nuts
✓ Greek yoghurt
#1 In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, cinnamon, salt, Sugar-Free Syrup and FlavDrops and set aside
#2 Next, cut the slices of bread into halves and put a layer of bread into a casserole dish
#3 Pour over half of the egg and milk mixture, then lay out another layer of bread on top and add the remaining egg and milk mixture
#4 Cover with foil and refrigerate overnight
#5 In the morning, remove from the fridge and preheat the oven to 175°C
#6 Squeeze over more sugar-free syrup, crushed nuts and cinnamon then bake for 35-40 minutes until golden brown
#7 Spoon into bowls and dollop yoghurt and fresh strawberries on top. Drizzle over sugar-free syrup and devour!
