Homemade Falafel


This homemade falafel recipe is absolutely delicious, yet so easy to make! If you’re looking for a healthy weight loss recipe, or an exciting new innovation for your meal prep give this falafel recipe a go!



What you’ll need:


The ingredients needed are pretty minimalistic, but feel free to add any of your favorite vegetables and herbs to the mix! Here’s what you’ll need:


1 tin of chickpeas

½ an onion

½ a pepper

2 tomatoes

2 cloves of garlic, chosen herbs, salt and pepper.

30g of Myprotein Total Grains or Instant oats/oat flour.

A table spoon of olive oil (or any vegetable oil)



Homemade Falafel



The Preparation:


Finely chop up your onion, garlic, pepper, tomatoes and herbs.


To a food processor add a tin of drained chickpeas and blend.


Once blended, add in your vegetables, oil, and total grains and pulse slightly to mix all the ingredients together.


Using your hands shape the falafel mix into round patties. The mix should make about 4 patties.



Homemade Falafel



The Cooking:


Add a small amount of oil to a large pan and heat until hot.

Add your falafel patties and cook on one side for around 4 minutes until it starts to brown.

Flip the patties and cook the other side.


The Eating:


Serve you falafel patties with some baked sweet potato fries, homemade salsa and salad.
