This tuna burger recipe is an easy way to spice up those usually boring tins of grey tuna, with an amazing bread bun alternative!
This recipe is so simple an you’ll only need a handful of ingredient that are probably already hidden in your fridge, you’ll need:
Two Tins of Tuna
1 large egg
1 egg white
Half a red or white onion
1/3 of a pepper
And additional herbs, salt, pepper and garlic.
Chop two thick slices of sweet potato and bake in the oven at 150 degrees Celsius for 40 minutes.
The preparation of these tuna burgers really couldn’t be simpler!
Open your tins of tuna into a bowl. Chop up and add all your pepper, onion and chosen herbs. Into the tuna veggie mix add one large egg and one egg white, you salt, pepper and chopped up garlic.
Mix this combination until all the egg is mixed into the burger mix.
Using your hands form round shaped patties, this mix should make about four patties, although feel free to add more tuna and eggs for more burgers.
Heat a large pan on a medium heat and add a spoonful of olive or coconut oil.
Place the tuna burger patties on the pan and cook for 3-4 minutes on one side until brown.
Flip and continue to cook until brown.
Remove your sweet potato slices from the oven and assemble the ultimate tuna burger stack! Add salad of your choice, or even a spoonful of homemade clean eating salsa!
