Black Friday: The Ultimate Workout

Black Friday is huge in the states, but is starting to get popular in the UK as more and more retailers participate in some great deals for the day! Shopping on black Friday is a workout in itself! Here are some of the moves you will perform trying to catch some good deals and get them home from the shops!

Warming Up In Line Outside The Store

It gets pretty cold standing in line to get in at the start of a sale! You will probably find yourself sidestepping and even jogging on the spot to try keep some heat in you before the doors open!

Sprints To The Shelves

Once the doors open, the race is on! You have plenty of competition to get to those deals so it’s time to get sprinting!

Tug Of War

You may need to play some tug of war to win that plasma television! Work on your tugging strength by practicing some chin ups and push ups before the sales start!

Chin Ups

With your palms facing your body, grab the chin up bar with a grip slightly closer than shoulder width. Keep your torso straight. Breathe out, and then pull your body up until your head reaches the height of the bar. Keep your elbows close to your body. Squeeze for a moment and then lower your torso back to the starting position.

Push Ups

Begin on the ground with your face down and holding your upper body at arm’s length. Lower yourself down so that your chest is nearly at ground level. Breathe out, and then push your body back up to the starting position. Pause for a moment, keep squeezing the chest, then begin to return to the starting position.

Squat To Pick Up Items

Not all deals are going to be at eye level, so you may find yourself having to squat down and pick up some bargains from the lower shelves!

Begin with your feet spaced out shoulder width apart. Flex at the knees and the hips, pushing them back as though you were going to sit in a chair. Lower yourself down as far as you are able to, then return to the starting position by reversing the movement. Keep both your head and chest up throughout the exercise.

Cross your arms. Keep your head up and your back straight. Squat down as you breathe in, then using the balls of your feet, press up and jump into the air as high as you can. Breathe out as you do this. When your feet hit the floor again, squat down and repeat the movement.

Farmers Walk With Shopping Bags

This can be a tough one depending on what it is you are buying, especially if you have a friend or family member pushing an already full shopping trolley of deals! You may find yourself doing a farmers walk around the store and also out to your car once you have paid. The good news is this is a super way to burn calories and build endurance!
