Em’s Story

Em began their fitness journey at the age of 14. They have been into fitness ever since, and they are now in their mid-20s. Em shares their passion for fitness with over 70,000 Instagram followers.

“I've been working out since I was about 14 years old pretty consistently. I got into it from sports, I played a lot of sports growing up and I really wanted to get better at them, so I started working out more at home, and then I started really liking it. I was at home doing all the push-ups, the crunches and just trying to build up some strength. I liked the way that I felt and looked and how I was excelling in some of these sports, and it just went from there. I also grew up in a very active household — my parents were very active, and so were my brothers. They always led me with a very active lifestyle, and I wanted to live up to that too.”

Career highlights:

  • Captain and MVP of hockey team; won bronze at OFSAA
  • Box lacrosse champions
  • Came 3rd in 5k race

Go-to cheat meal

Em works out 6-7 times a week, but that doesn’t mean they can’t enjoy the finer things in life. Like pizza — their go-to cheat meal.

Outside of work, Emily’s top priority is food. She’s a self-professed star baker and a connoisseur of all things baked. In her spare time, she’s either cooking up a storm, our looking out for the opportunity to try out Manchester’s newest restaurants. But as a huge fan of carbs, if it’s not pasta or pasta-adjacent, she’s not interested. If she’s not in the kitchen, she’s tucked up with a book for an early night, or you’ll find her in the gym working up a sweat. Afterall, all those carbs require quite the appetite.
