I purchased this in Banana - Stevia as soon as it came out as it's basically a protein shake but with lots of extra goodness, so a super-health drink! I work out 8x a week so this is essential although often overlooked. This is so handy and I've actually had it as a meal for breakfast sometimes when I'm in a rush. It mixes pretty well if you use a shaker. I often use a blender and blend in an extra banana or something. Obviously, it leaves a teeny but of that Stevia feeling in your mouth however this is worth it for a natural sweetener rather than anything artificial. As I got the banana flavour, I also add in 2 tsp of the Myprotein Organic Cacao Powder to make a chocolate banana shake. I mix it with almond milk then blend it with ice which is delicious!!! Really recommend having it this way in summer. Overall great product as I've started feeling so much better and have more energy after replacing my normal shakes with this.Goes Well With:Almond milk, ice and Cacao Powder
The "banana stevia" flavour, on its own, is a little strong. However, I mix this with the vegan blend "chocolate smooth" protein powder with water to get all 3 protein sources (pea, brown rice and hemp).. I'm totally addicted. I love it. I have a shaker but it mixes perfectly without. Goes Well With:water / vegan blend "chocolate smooth" protein powder
I don't think that the low star rating does this product justice and would say that those reviews are from people expecting too much. This is a vegan friendly low-ish carb, high fibre, moderate protein, superfood blend... it is never going to taste like nectar from the gods but blended well with some ice (I use the Blueberry and Raspberry flavour), it tastes quite nice. Vegan protein sources aren't typically smooth to blend and ultimately taste quite chalky. Superfood powders often make a smoothie taste like grass. This drink, when blended properly, is quite smooth and the flavour masks the grass taste well however, it WILL NOT taste/blend like a whey based protein shake. In my opinion, this is ideal for someone who usually tops up their diet with fibre and superfood powders, combining the need for several other supplements into one handy mix. If this is you, then you know the deal with those powders, this tastes better and is worth trying.Goes Well With:Ice and water.
This is the best superfood mix I've had compared to others although quite a chalky texture I've yet to find one better & it doesn't have that swamp water taste like some I've had strawberry & blueberry & raspberry I prefer the blueberry & raspberry as it's quite sweet it goes well in my porridge or as a fruit smoothie it's not great on it's own but it does the job :))Goes Well With:Porridge or fruit smoothie
It tastes pretty bad, but on a scale of milkshake to kale smoothie i'd say it was a solid kids banana penicilin. However i got the strawberry it looks like mud and i would recommened adding the powder to the cup then adding a little water to make a paste before adding the rest of the water as it mixes better. Although it tastes bad i have really enjoyed the benefits from drinking it. My muscles have a faster recovery time and my energy levels have increased, its like going vegan all over again. Goes Well With:water, I have experimented with vanilla extract and can say thay a teaspoon in the blend really evens out that greens taste.
I chose this as I wanted to be dairy free as much as possible. I have it in the morning after my workout with extra greens and mixed with almond milk. It has lots of vitamins and tastes good too. Goes Well With:Fruit or veg and I use almond milk or hemp milk. Also great with water or a fresh fruit juice.
Strawberry flavour is interesting! Looks a bit odd in the mixer but that will probably be the spirulina but it tastes fine. Very good breakfast or light meal replacement or straight after a long endurance session running or on the bike. Good way of getting B12 omega 3 and post exercise vitamin c. Cost effective alternative to some of the expensive vegan sports supplements. I will definitely be using this again.Goes Well With:Fine on its own after a ride or run session. I use the vegan blend after a weights session
Terrible product, the Banana taste is "sickly sweet" and over the top. If you're going to get any of these products stick with the Strawberry flavour only, as It seems to be the only Superfood product to be somewhat edible. Goes Well With:A bin.
After being so impressed with the taste, effect and mixablity of the Vegan Blend product on this site, I chose to buy the Vegan Superfood Blend also. I made the mistake of purchasing the Blueberry & Raspberry Stevia flavour, thinking that sounded quite nice. This turned out to be a huge error of judgement. As recommended on the Suggest Use tab, I mixed 1 and 1/2 scoops with 300ml of water. It smelled disgusting and looked like a sort of blueish mud. The taste was so bad, It turned out to be completely undrinkable. I tried to power through the bad taste and just neck it, but I almost threw up. I had to throw the remainder away because I physically couldn't face another attempt at drinking it. On my second attempt, I tried mixing half a scoop with 500ml of Soy Milk. While still disgusting, I just about managed to finish it. The taste of the Blueberry & Raspberry Stevia flavour is so dire that it's a real struggle to drink, even when mixing 1 third of the amount with almost twice the amount of recommended liquid. I'm now left with the best part of 2kg of powder that I probably won't be able to use. I can't comment too much on its effectiveness because I've not been able to drink enough of it to notice any results. On a positive note, it does mix very well in a blender. That's not much use, however, if you're just going to pour it down the sink because it's too revolting to drink. I've since ordered 1kg of the banana stevia flavour, after reading some good reviews on that one, hoping for best!Goes Well With:Nothing.
I find this pretty palatable which is good, having read the reviews! My method is to add the powder to water, mix well and then stir in a splash of Oatley or Koko. It's a bit grainy but easy to drink and I find the banana flavour isn't too strong. Goes Well With:water, Oatley etc.
An interesting product hence i bought it. For a greens blend the taste is good, its subtle and sweet albeit a little bitter. Trying to mask the greens with fruit or birthday cake flavor will easily result in a mess. People who have used spirulina powder will know what i mean. This can become a 5* product with a bit of ingredient refining and better flavors. A herb flavor maybe like mint, tea tree or something like that. I would have given a 4 star but i am unhappy with the new package which doesn't seal properly (ground flaxeed easily oxidizes). If MP wants to save extra money from package they should had at a warning that the packages from now on don't air seal so i can buy an extra empty tub promptly. That and i noticed it has soya flour. Couldn't they have stayed with the oats? .Goes Well With:I drink it with cold water and accept i drink a Green blend. An extra banana enhances the banana flavor but as i mentioned, it won't make the greens taste disappear.
I bought this when it first came out in the Banana Stevia Flavour and it was one of the best purchases I have ever made on this website. Due to the vegetables and all things great for you grinded up in this the powder is a green colour which alarmed me at first as upon previously recieving a free Complete Greens pouch which was also the same colour, it put me off very much as even though it was labelled as "Unflavoured" it tasted like I was drinking salad dressing, which isn't ideal in a smoothie. But this stuff is nothing like that it is beautifully sweet (not too much) and a great banana flavour. I mix it into my porridge in the morning as well as my green smoothies. It makes it so much easier than taking a scoop out of 6 different pouches as this is all on one! I feel great if I've had a super healthy breakfast in the morning and this makes me feel twice as good in terms of mood and the care of my body. I would reccomend this to anyone vegan or non vegan! A great investment and I would buy again when I manage to get through this massive 1kg bag. Thanks MyProtein!
I never write reviews but having read all the bad ones here, i said i better in the hope that MyProtein won't discontinue this product! ive been buying the regular Vegan blend for some time (i just cannot handle whey!), and got pretty fed up with the same flavour. im delighted this product is now here, its far better! it blends really well, I add half water and half almond milk, and tastes as good as a vegan shake can (banana). OK its not the best vegan shake on the market, but that one (better not name it) costs 40-50 euro. However, this product is definitely second best. well done MyProtein i say!Goes Well With:almond milk
Couldn't have had a better set of ingredients if I'd picked them myself. Unfortunately the taste is pretty bad (strawberry flavour). Not impossible to drink, but I don't think it will ever be a shake I will look forward to. Having used spirulina before, this doesn't really surprise me. I'll probably buy again, and will start experimenting with ways to make it as palatable as possible. For what's in the shake, the bad taste is worth it.
I've started adding hazelnut or coconut milk in with this and some ginger to nake it more palatable as the taste is awful, too sweet, and it's grainy no matter how long you mix it. But I do feel full for hours and not bloated at all and the price is great. Do feel a difference taking it but far too sweet for me. Goes Well With:Hazelnut or coconut milk and ginger
I have recently turned vegetarian, with the ambition of becoming vegan so I selected this protein shake. I will NEVER buy it again. It takes ages to mix, and is tastes horrible. I find it a struggle to drink it each time.
context: I'm allergic to dairy, whenever I consume it my throat swells up and I begin wheezing. My alternative has always been buying vegan protein shakes from my local shake place, and I be never had a problem with them. So I bought the Vegan superfood blend thinking it would be exactly the same. However that wasn't the case. My first time drinking this my throat swelled as if I had a regular milkshake, bad times. Although the favour isn't that bad, I still believe there is something MyProtein have added to this which isn't strictly vegan.Goes Well With:Banana, not asthma.
I purchased this because whey protein bloats me. Well, this was a total waste of money because I just can't drink it without gagging. I purchased the Bluberry one. It looks like mud and tastes like mud with a slight aftertaste of sweetener that sticks in your throat. I tried it with water, almond milk. Both not good. The colour is like dirty pond water with a tinge of blue. Will never buy again and I guess I have to give up on the protein shakes because I will not waste my money trying different things. Shame they don't do samples of these to try first!!Goes Well With:Absolutely nothing
I wanted to reduce my reliance on dairy & soya product & therefore turned to this new line. The powder looks pretty much like mud when mixed with water. The initial taste caused me to gag, however, I persevered & poured the whole lot down the hatch. On the plus side, the product causes little flatulence & keeps hunger at bay too. I understand that the boffins & My Protein employ a taste panel who trial products prior to them coming on the market & they've not earned their keep on this occasion! I've also purchased the Banana & Strawberry variant of this product & hope they'll be kinder on the tastebuds. Goes Well With:Nothing. It's acquired taste.
i mix 1 scoop vegan blend unflavoured with 1/2 scoop of this stuff blends and mixes perfect in above combo for me as i dont like things too sweet. gives about 35g proteon 10g carbs iv only mixed with water Goes Well With:water
