New Vegan Blend - Coffee Walnut

I don’t normally write reviews, but after reading some of the other ones I felt compelled to say that this stuff is really, REALLY tasty compared to before.  I can’t stress the difference enough.  It’s not dusty/sandy anymore and I’m convinced coffee walnut should be the standard flavour for all protein powders now.  As for the “completeness” of the amino acid profile, it would help to know what the actual profile is so that people can figure out where to fill in the gaps with the rest of their diet.
Goes Well With:
Unsweetened Almond milk + flax oil

Flavour has changed

I have been buying the chocolate flavour vegan blend for over a year, and it was great in overnight oats for a pre workout breakfast. However, I just repurchased and it seems that the recipe has changed - it doesn't taste remotely of chocolate any more, and has a strong chemical/oversweet flavour. I'm especially disappointed as I bought a 2.5kg bag! Unless this changes back to the original formula I definitely won't be repurchasing.

The taste is so strong that I am struggling to make it palatable with anything, trying to mask with extra cocoa and cinnamon in oats.

Does the job

I'm new to protein powders in general and wanted to get a dairy-free one due to dairy triggering breakouts on my skin. Most people I asked said vegan protein powders were grim but I wanted to give them a try anyway so bought two of these - one in strawberry and one in chocolate. The strawberry one is okay, the taste is quite artificial but that was expected. The chocolate one is delicious! I mix it with water and it isn't too grainy at all like I expected it to be. Overall a really nice product that I will definitely be buying again.

CAN be delicious

This is not whey protein - you can't just mix it with water/soy/almond milk and a nice protein shake comes out. I make mine in a Nutribullet. Like all pea-protein, it tastes a bit grainy and a bit weirdly dry. There's a few tricks to making it actually taste beaut. 1) Put the liquid in first and the protein in after. If you put it into the blender cup first and the liquid after, it will stick to the top and not blend. 2) Add a banana. Honestly, this is the only thing that cancels that weird musty dryness of pea protein. I add the following, in order: 200ml water, 200ml unsweetened almond/soy milk, 30g protein, 1 tsp of a 50/50 cinnamon and turmeric mix.

Banana

Mucho gusto!!!

Just right! This new flavor “coffee & walnut” is off the hook. Finally MP rose up from the dead and focused on the vegan range. Now we need some more flavors like: -Chocolate Hazelnut (Nutella) -PB & Chocolate Keep it up!!!

Everything.

Vegan coffee & walnut tastes AWFUL

I have given this a try over a few weeks with various plant-based milks and water etc. I have forced this vile drink down everyday and tried my best to stomach it. I stupidly bought a 5kg bag (lol) based off of one review saying it tasted amazing. I love coffee - why would this be bad in my shake? SO WRONG. Not just very grainy, but the taste is appalling. I say a small prayer before downing the entire thing in one before my body realises the torment I'm subjecting it to. Please, for your own sake, do not buy this. I can't vouch for other flavours, but God, coffee & walnut is baaaaaaaaaad. Have a good day.

Worse than before

I was a big fan of the vegan blend protein in the chocolate flavour before they changed the formula. I usually eat the protein mixed in to other foods such as porridge rather than on its own in a shake. This new formula is much worse for this purpose and has a more bitter taste. I find myself having to add a lot more sweetener to make up for it. I probably won't repurchase this protein.

Bring back the old Vegan Blend recipe..this is a fail.

Have been using MyProtein products - great value for money for almost 15 years. To date -this is hands down the worst tasting product produced. It is nothing compared to the old Vegan Blend recipe and those who have used it know exactly what I mean here. Please listen to your customer base and revise. I consider myself to have a high tolerance for 'fitness food' - crazy tasting shakes etc - in the name of (vegan) training. However, as much as I want this to be awesome it tastes SO bad....and I've bought nearly a hundred bucks worth in different flavours...

New blend tastes horrible

I used to always purchase the chocolate blend and really enjoyed it. It tasted great with almond milk and cacao powder. However, the new chocolate blend has a really strong after-taste. I have tried it with a range of other ingredients and I cannot get it to taste nice. I managed to get a refund on the 2.5kg protein powder I purchased. I did not realise that they had changed the ingredients and I am unable to use the protein powder as I just can't cope with the new taste. Unless myprotein go back to the old formula I am going to have to try and find a new vegan protein.

Vegan blend

Strawberry flavour is good taste wise but the consistency is grainy not smooth like the whey alternative. Would advise buying a sample or small bag first
