It’s nutrition, not a treat

Honestly, this stuff is good. All these reviews talking about the taste are focussing too much on a pretty insignificant aspect. I’ve found simply mixing one scoop with 400ml of water and stirring in a teaspoon of honey does the trick and is actually quite pleasant. The shake is for nutrition, not for a tasty treat Considering the benefits of having pea protein over whey i.e bioavailability, land area needed for production, digestibility, animal welfare etc. this is a really effective product. I can highly recommend.
Goes Well With:
400ml water and a teaspoon of honey

Great protein & great value

I love this pea protein, I was unsure about it before trying as many of the reviews are mixed, but I have been using it for years now and think it's great. The trick with the taste/texture issues is to blend it up with a banana and other ingredients (I use oats, cocoa powder and seeds usually) which then avoids the gritty texture and the taste is much better too. If you're looking for a vegan or more natural protein powder without the flavouring that a lot of proteing powders contain, then this one if worth a try. In terms of the protein gained from it, it's well worth it. The main thing I would suggest is to just keep experimenting with blending it with different ingredients and find the right balance for you. I have also tried it in pea and mint soup - it was great! It helped thicken the soup and didn't affect the flavour at all.
Goes Well With:
Bananas! Cocoa powder, oats, berries, cacao nibs, chia seeds, coconut milk and pea and mint soup!

Wanting to try something new other than the whey (digestive issues), I tried pea and the brown rice proteins. The pea combines better and does not have a grainy texture like the rice protein. Taste is a bit.....unique. An acquired one maybe... But in a smoothie with banana and cinnamon you can't tell it's there. Easy on the stomach. Overall great product.

Milk, banana, cacao, peanut butter

This is the first time Ive tried pea protein. I liked it very much, it combines well with flavoured impact whey and is also nice on its own.

I make it easier to mix and drink by pouring a bit of diluting squash in my shaker first (orange, raspberry..), then the protein, then my water. Change squash flavour to taste. I also recommend mixing 1/3 to 1/2 brown rice protein - makes it mix so much better.

Mix this with water not animal / soy / almond milk. Let it settle and absorb the water. Possibly add a spoon of coffee and even sugar / a sweeter if you (still) have a sweet tooth - and it's a good drink. Take a dry dab on the end of your finger and it tastes like cardboard!

It's like drinking mud. I've tried cooking with it, mixing it was milk, with water, with chocolate powder (as i used to do with whey) but nothing takes away that gritty taste. That's until somebody suggested using bananas. I tried mixing it in and for the first gulp i thought this is amazing. Second gulp...not so much. It's an unrelenting flavour that unless you like that kind of taste... avoid.
