What is Cacao Powder?
Organic Cacao Powder is produced from the beans of the Theobroma Cacao tree. Cacao refers to the whole beans, or the powder of the bean if it has not been heated during its processing.
The Theobroma Cacao tree is a small evergreen tree which is part of the Malvaceae family, also known as the mallows. It is native to tropical areas of the Americas but is now more specifically grown in areas of West Africa.
The tree produces large pods, which is where the cacao beans are housed. The cacao bean itself is coated in a thin, white membrane, which wears away during the drying process, so that the cacao bean is eventually a brown- or reddish colour by the time that it is ready to be ground into a powder.

Wow to Cacao
Exactly what was promised! Also great value, flavour and consistency! Personally love it as a hot chocolate substitute or with a little boiling water to create syrup for pancakes. A small spoonful in a coffee shake creates a mocha option also! Goes Well With:Protein pancakes to give a little contrast kick

I made the mistake when first used this to add 10 grams, which just ruined everything as it tasted too bitter. Now I just use a teaspoon or two & taste before adding more. It's so much more palatable now & I enjoy the dark chocolate taste. Goes Well With:Chocolate Angel Delight, porridge & weetabix

High quality, good taste, just be sure to shake the powder to the bottom before opening it!Goes Well With:Oats, Baking, Smoothies
Report this reviewGreat quality cacao powder
This cacao is really nice, not too bitter or gritty. It tastes great and mixes well into smoothies and baking! Use this everydayGoes Well With:baking, smoothies
Report this reviewGreat Replacement
A great tasting powder that I use in my own shakes with milk, raw egg and Collagen Protein. I also now use it in my teenagers milkshakes where I replace the three heaped teaspoons of well known shake mix ( which once I looked at the label I realised is 75% sugar), the kids love it and I am happy we have cut their sugar intake down substantially.Goes Well With:Shakes
Report this reviewAmazing
Probably the nicest cacao powder I've tasted. and yes cacao powders do get bad reviews for being bitter, but Myprotein Cacao Powder doesn't have even a hint of bitterness making it go well with everyday eating. Obviously it doesn't taste exactly like chocolate but it's something different and worth trying. 10/10 Goes Well With:everything. Protein shakes. Breakfast. Toast. Cakes. Muffins.
Report this reviewsmooth and full of flavour
I pop some of this in with a shake, or if i am freezing a shake to make icecream to give it a fuller flavour. Its also good in hot chocolate!Goes Well With:chocolate brownie whey and toffee flavour drops
Report this reviewCacao at it's finest
Since it has that bitterness, I can confirm that it truly is made of 100% cacao beans - no additions. A great supplement to any sweet food. Haven't tried to make hot chocolate with it yet, but will soon try out. Definitely will order again. :)Goes Well With:Food
