Protein bread is probably not something you buy as a pleasure-seeking epicurean. For you, who live your life with different goals in mind, it will do. It's not terrible. It does the job. Although my bread arrived very quickly, it already tasted quite dry and stiff. I recommend toasting it and topping it with something—anything!—if you want to try to redeem this experience. Another warning: the label seems to assume that two slices will weigh approximately 117 grams. I weighed each pair of slices and no two exceeded a combined total of 108. Most were closer to 104. If you're neurotic about tracking macros, you'll probably want to put these slices on a scale before you embark upon your unremarkable bread journey.Goes Well With:Peanut butter; realistic expectations; pragmatism.
Really pleased with the product as it is a great high protein, alternative to normal bread. The texture is different as it's very dense and takes some getting used to but i tried it as toast, sandwiches and even in a bread and butter pudding and it worked. And actually filled me up! However, it was delivered with only two days left on the use-by which meant i had to freeze some and, whilst it does freeze, for the price i wasn't happy with this. I contacted myprotein twice but didn't receive a response so won't be ordering it from them again.Goes Well With:Nut butters, as chicken sandwiches.
The only positive I can mention is the delivery speed. The product came to me out of date, and with mould growing on the side.
I love this bread. In terms of taste, it is quite good, dense and a bit dry, but perfect for toasting. It is not a low carb bread (per slice you have 15 grs of carbs), but it balances carb and protein 50-50.If we compare this to a 'normal' wholemeal bread (say warburton's wholemeal bread), the calorie content per 100 grams is pretty similar (231 kcal for warburtons and 258 kcal for protein bread) with warburton's composition being approximately +10 grs of carbs and -15 grs of protein relative to the protein bread. So, I would say this is a great option if you are looking at shifting moderately the composition of your breakfast while sticking to toast. I have been having this (for a month or so) as my higher carb meal at the start of my day, with a breakfast of 1:1 protein to carbs and decreasing the carbs content throughout the day to get to 10:1 in my last meal of the day. So far, so good. To have in mind: probably due to the higher protein, it gets mouldy quite quickly after the 'Best Before' date. I put the bag in the freezer and toast the slices as I go. This works great and (obviously) the bread never goes off! Goes Well With:Fat free cottage cheese and cup of decaf coffee.
Tastes great, filling, awesome with pb&j or savoury. Cant get enough.
this bread is delicious. the only critisism would be the salt content - 1g per 2 slices. otherwise, higly recommended, will order again
High protein bread is a great product that allows for this food type to be added into cutting phases used everyday rather than just saved for carb up re-feeds. The Flavour and Texture matches if not exceeds that of most seeded and whole grain breads that i have tried from the supermarket, this can also be bought in bulk and then separated into two slices each and frozen for use at a later date and to preserve it when buying in bulk, also once thawed it does not lose texture or quality which is a major plus. I originally tried this in the form of the DR Zak's version along with the High Protein Pasta which is another great product. This is great to bump up protein intake due to providing around 15 grams per slice which can then be topped up even higher by spreading some high protein peanut or almond butter on top or melted high protein cheese which is also sold by MyProtein. 5* Rating for an awesome innovative product that is putting bread as a suitable food source for cutting diets other than the regular chicken breast and broccoli. I was introduced to this by a friend of the family. I'd never heard of protein bread before. I was always told bread was to be avoid at all costs. Dr Zak's high protein bread is amazing and any doubts I had about how it would taste were demolished almost as quick as it took me to demolish 2 slices. 30g worth of protein in 2 slices. Many will try it purely because of the protein content but I swear it's nice that normally bread. Superb texture, fills you up and makes taste to die for! I ordered three loaves all of which arrived absolutely covered in mould. So they had to go straight in the bin. Will be sticking to muscle food for my orders from now on.
30g of protein in two slices is just amazing. The bread is not too heavy and doesn't fill you up too much. Great for a mid morning snack (I usually use honey or jam) or for breakfast if you want a change from oats, etc. The shelf life is way beyond regular bread (about 10 days from day of delivery) Highly recommended. Goes Well With:Jam, honey, cheese (the myprotein high protein cheese is ideal) or just toasted with nut butter.
this stuffs great if your trying to you your protein. but it is expensive for a loaf of bread. I generally freeze it and use as I go. Goes Well With:Tuna and cottage cheese
It's an unfortunate fact that, as a man nearing his 30's, keeping the belly at bay requires a little more effort than it did 10 years ago! Lets face it, with work, kids, gym and everything in between, diet always takes the back foot. My personal diet conundrum has always stemmed from high carb foods. Realistically, the best way for me to keep the pounds off is watching my macros, and restricting the quantity of carbs that I eat. In reality, this means bread, pasta, potato, rice have to be consumed in small quantities, and not make up the bulk of any meal. However, when you're trying to get multiple meals a day, and the choice is high protein sources only, it can get a bit stale*. . . Carb'y foods help to add variety to a diet, but I often find it difficult to integrate any without them warping my macros beyond recognition. Sure, I could have toast for breakfast or a sandwich for lunch, as long as I don't have any carbs for the rest of the day. So when something like this comes along, it's a godsend. I can easily incorporate 30g of carbs into my daily macros without it sending everything else out of whack, and this is coupled with a big dollop of protein to boot. Add some chicken, or high protein cheese, between two slices, and you have yourself a perfectly balanced, low carb, high protein meal. Taste? This bread is phenomenal. It looks like bread, smells like bread, tastes like a decent wholemeal variety and toasts like bread. It also came with a very long shelf life > 1 week after delivery. It's more chewy than "standard" bread. But honestly, it's not excessively so, and to be expected as with all high protein foods. We're always told to chew food more before swallowing anyway! If you want a real treat, add 100g of My Protein's High Protein Cheese and grill. Guilt free cheese on toast! This was a shopping basket filler as wasn't too sure on how would taste On arrival loaf felt the weight of a brick !! , however the Taste and quality was excellent . Two peices at 30g protein and no suger you Cannot argue this fact ! As its a food those extra grams of protein are added to your daily intake without the need for another 'shake' . Ideal as toast with eggs or even as a sandwich . Top buy !
Not dry? Toasts well, good thickness and doesn't have a funny taste like other protein bread. Nor is it too doughy. In fact you can't tell the difference to normal bread. Freezes well too. Just way too expensive to buy regularly.

My work lunches just got better, about 30g of protein better! Tastes like regular brown bread, but a bit heavier. Don't try to toast it though, it really doesn't work, just have it as it is! I was sceptical when buying it as I thought the texture would be terrible but I bought it for the craic. It tastes exactly like granary bread the texture straight out of the packet is a lot better than I expected and it makes great toast.Goes Well With:Butter, peanut butter, almond butter
I have a failing in my diet, I must have toast in the morning or I don't feel everything is ok in the world! So how do you have toast and protein as a very quick breakfast? Dr Zak's of course! Makes great toast. Also great toast straight from freezer to toaster. Perfect!
