Utter disappointment
1These were the best protein bars by a long stretch. I tried the 'new' version and thankfully due to reviews I opted for a single. Truly terrible, generic chocolate protein bar which is really really powdery absolutely no resemblance to the previous recipe. Now scouring the internet for other options as will not be purchasing again.Goes Well With:A sense of disappointment and a browse of internet for other companies selling a better option.

DO NOT BUY AT ANY COST
1I am absolutely disgusted with this product and company, I have eaten a bunch of my fudge brownie carb crusher bars and noticed a funny taste. Only today after eating half a bar I took a really close look and fount tiny light bugs crawling all over the bar!!! I am absolutely astonished, after some research I have found out this is a big issue in Japan with myprotein products. I expect compensation as these are in date, all separately sealed and yet every bar has these bugs!!! Disgusting. I wish I could attach a video or picture to show this!

Bring back the old recipe
1I loved THE Carb Crusher Dark Chocolate and Sea Salt bar. The new recipe is terrible in terms of taste and texture, Please bring back the old one.

5I had not tasted the old recipe but the new recipe is delicious. Please bring it back. It's a very good energy booster - packed with protein, good carbs, fibre, vitamins, and minerals. Having two of them with coffee in the morning, I get fully charged until lunch. Goes Well With:coffee

Nasty
2Really not a fan of the fudge brownie flavour, didn't get either of them tastes. Very dry and not enjoyable, I can't justify the taste just to get the protein in. Goes Well With:Water, lots of water

Strawberry > Fudge
4Handy snack to have after exercise. Filling without making you feel bloated. The fudge brownie didn't taste anything like fudge or a brownie, the strawberry cheesecake was pretty good - it smells somewhat like a chocolate from the Roses tin at Christmas. Both have a slight stodgy texture but nothing unbearable.

Still a great bar
5I’ve tried a few flavours now and dark choc sea salt is the ONLY way to go! I came to carb crusher bars after the infamous recipe change, so I didn’t know what I was missing. That is until recently when this site ran out and I was forced to buy from another supplier. There are two key differences 1. the chocolate (sweeter and “crisper” in the original recipe and 2. the caramel, which is much sweeter and tastier in the original. The two combined make a big difference to the overall taste and texture of the bar, and I agree, it’s far nicer. However, when I run out of old recipe, I’ll continue to order the new recipe bars from here. They’re still a fantastic product and although there is a difference, I really don’t think it’s a deal breaker at all. Old or new recipe, I still love these bars.Goes Well With:Coffee!

2These bars taste nasty. I’ve tried loads of different types of protein bars and these are awful. It’s like chewing sawdust.

Change isn't always bad!
5Like the other reviewers, my favourite was the Dark Choc and Sea Salt. They were the protein bar that was most like a real choccy bar. The new recipe for that flavour does not come close to the old one. HOWEVER, the new Peanut Butter bar is by far the best protein bar I've tried. It as as close to a real choc bar as I think we're ever going to get. I think the other reviewers have neglected to mention that the new recipe is a far better texture, shape, and size. The old one was really chewy and didn't feel like food. I would happily try the other new bars based on the Peanut Butter one, but I agree that the Dark Choc is pretty flavourless compared to the old one. The old one was nice enough that the Mrs would steal them. At least that isn't a problem now. Goes Well With:A hot drink
