This beneficial effect is obtained with the consumption of carbohydrates, from all sources, at a total intake of 4g per kg body weight, at doses, within the first 4 hours, and no later than 6 hours, following highly intensive and/or long-lasting physical exercise leading to muscle fatigue and the depletion of glycogen stores in skeletal muscle.
2. Protein contributes to the growth and maintenance of muscle mass.
Carbohydrates contribute to muscle recovery† after high intensity and/or endurance exercise. Therefore in order to replenish muscular glycogen stores we recommend adding 1 large scoop (35g) to 150-250ml of water or your favourite beverage in a Myprotein shaker within 4 hours of exercise. †Beneficial effect is obtained through consumption of carbohydrates, from all sources, at a total intake of 4 g per kg body weight, at doses within the first 4 hours and no later than 6 hours of exercise.

The best post-workout carb on the market at the best price. I'm quite carb sensitive so I just use 1 scoop (38g) along with one scoop (25g) of whey protein. Roughly 270 cals, 40g carb, 20g protein - take with creatine when cycling. This is all as a post-workout shake when bulking. I wish myprotein would make a simple Whey and Malto pre-mixed shake powder. Would make live easier and it'd be much cheaper than the Recovery XS.Goes Well With:I just have water.

Most people don’t know why they’re buying this stuff! Those who do have realised that maltodextrin replenished your body’s glycogen stores extremely efficiently after a workout. It also helps with creatine absorption and draws fluid into the muscle tissue following an intense workout. Don’t consume on off days people! Goes Well With:Post workout, creatine, beta alanine

Quick to get down carb source, taste is slightly sweet but not overly so. Combine with protein powder to make your own much cheaper gainer shakes. I recommend blending for mixing purposes as just shaking will leave lumps. ***Digestibility: I would not recommend going above 1g/kg bodyweight per serving or else.. let's just say it comes out quite urgently... This is noted in the literature as well. I am a larger person, 110kg/6'4 and personally found my limit to be around 0.8-0.9g/kg. Below this threshold I was mostly fine, but the limit was quite abrupt and it goes from plain sailing to OH BIG POPPA HE COMIN' real quick. Goes Well With:Protein powder

This maltodextrin powder is great. Just two scoops into a large bidon of water topped up with your favorite dilutable fruit drink and its good to go. I also add electrolytes but that just my choice. Much more economical than buying from one of the big brands. Buy the 2.5kg or 5kg bag and it will last for several months. Top marks from me. If you have and empty tub from another sports drinks brand keep it and fill it with this powder.

I needed a standalone carb that needed to be able to mix with a protein powder or with just water if I wanted..... I chose unflavoured. Works a treat. I would say that it does add a very slight sweetness to your chosen liquid but that's a good thing for me. It allows me to add my desired amount of carbs with ease so I can watch my intake depending on my training. An excellent product!Goes Well With:Vanilla Whey Protein Isolate
