What is L-lysine?

L-lysine is an essential amino acid that can be found in small quantities in a variety of foods. Getting it from your diet can be expensive and time-consuming, so we’ve created a convenient powder to increase your lysine intake, that can be added to your daily smoothie or shake.

As it can be difficult to get exact amounts of lysine from food, supplementing with L-lysine is the super-convenient way of boosting your daily levels.

What are essential amino acids?

Amino acids occur naturally in protein, which helps to build and repair new muscle.¹ There are 20 different amino acids, with only nine classed as essential as they can’t be made by the body.

The nine essential amino acids we must get from our diet are histidine, isoleucine, leucine, lysine, methionine, phenylalanine, threonine, tryptophan, and valine.
