Ross Edgley
Ultra-Endurance Athlete & Honorary PhD in Sports ScienceKnown globally for pioneering research in sports nutrition and strength and conditioning strategies to build physical and mental resilience during extreme endurance events, Edgley uniquely “battle tests” these protocols during ultra-marathon swims and expeditions in some of the most hostile environments on earth.
Using himself as a human ‘guinea pig’ he became the first person in history to simultaneously hold official Guinness World Records for long-distance swimming in the sea and river, when he completed the first 1,780-mile (2,860 km) swim around Great Britain (in 157 days) and then later broke the record for the longest non-stop, continuous river swim down the Yukon River (318 miles/510km).
He documented his findings, theories and philosophies throughout his books titled The World's Fittest Book (2018), The Art of Resilience (2020), and Blueprint (2021), each of which became No.1 Sunday Times Bestsellers, and were translated into several other languages and have sold millions worldwide.
Serving on the Myprotein advisory board, Edgley specialises in fuelling strategies for ultra-endurance events, strength prehab and rehab, hybrid training and methods to increase work capacity, but also has a keen interest in nootropics, immunity and body composition manipulation to survive in extreme temperatures.
