Maltodextrin is a polysaccharide produced from starch by partial hydrolysis and has a DE (dextrose equivalent) of 18. It is a white powder with no sweetness or odor.
Although Maltodextrin is a complex carbohydrate, it rates quite highly on the Glycemic index (GI) just below simple carbohydrates like Dextrose.
Maltodextrin is suitable for anyone engaged in a long term physical training looking to increase their carbohydrate intake.

Carbohydrates contribute to muscle recovery† after high intensity and/or endurance exercise. Therefore in order to replenish muscular glycogen stores we recommend adding 1 large scoop (35g) to 150-250ml of water or your favourite beverage in a Myprotein shaker within 4 hours of exercise. †Beneficial effect is obtained through consumption of carbohydrates, from all sources, at a total intake of 4 g per kg body weight, at doses within the first 4 hours and no later than 6 hours of exercise.

The best post-workout carb on the market at the best price. I'm quite carb sensitive so I just use 1 scoop (38g) along with one scoop (25g) of whey protein. Roughly 270 cals, 40g carb, 20g protein - take with creatine when cycling. This is all as a post-workout shake when bulking. I wish myprotein would make a simple Whey and Malto pre-mixed shake powder. Would make live easier and it'd be much cheaper than the Recovery XS.Goes Well With:I just have water.
Bought a bag of this when dextrose was out of stock and I love it. I thought dextrose was great, apart from the really sweet taste you get with it, which can be a little too much some days. Can't really tell maltodextrin is mixed in with anything. I added it in to a bit of lucozade sport and mixed with water and I couldn't tell anything was added in, but it gave me loads more energy at the gym and hit a huge PR in deadlift. Does what it says on the tin, or bag, for post-workout.Goes Well With:Milk/Water, whey, juice drinks
Very good and efficient way to up macros and use with protein as the mix ability is very good, I would recommend this to anybody wishing to gain more weight either in bulking or cutting very good product to use, for carb cycling I would advise this a lot Goes Well With:Creatine monohydrate or impact whey protein

what can i say,an excellent source of quality carbs,a great addition to protein shakes throughout the day for extra calories.Best works for me half hour before workout with protein shake and another straight after,better workouts and feel fuller in my muscles,good stuff and works well.
I bought this along with some whey protein and dextrose. One scoop of each makes for an excellent weight gainer at a very effective price. Excellent for replenishing the glycogen stores and makes sure the protein is used for rebuilding rather than for energy. Before you go out and buy some expensive cyclone-esque weight gainer, try the combination I did. Will make your post workout shake a million times more effective. I found that taking this supplement 30 mins before a workout gives you enough energy for an intense cardio workout. Will defiantly purchase again. Highly recommend to a friend.
This is my Second 5kg Bag - Excellent Stuff for Cycling Just requires 1 Scoop of this with 1/2 Scoop of Fructose, a pinch of sea salt or electrolyte and a bit of juice Why pay a fortune for the same as above (but with other crappy additives!) This maltodextrin powder is great. Just two scoops into a large bidon of water topped up with your favorite dilutable fruit drink and its good to go. I also add electrolytes but that just my choice. Much more economical than buying from one of the big brands. Buy the 2.5kg or 5kg bag and it will last for several months. Top marks from me. If you have and empty tub from another sports drinks brand keep it and fill it with this powder.
It does the job. It rises your sugar level up and gets the muscles to work. Don't expect to be HULK after drinking, if you do light workouts. It's very helpful for high intensity exercises. Endurance sports, such as sprinting, heavy lighting, basketball, football. If you are vertical leaper and working at your maximum capacity, this will give you a boost.Goes Well With:With anything you drink. Pre-work out protein shake.

Great way to get my carbs in on my bulk without feeling bloated all the time. I use this post workout to replace muscle glycogen and in mass gainers, good to use in my juice at breakfast also. Only thing I wouldn't recommend is mixing with water as it tastes of toothpaste in my opinion but overall great product! Goes Well With:Breakfast juice

I found myself very satisfied with the product, it is effective and it tastes of nothing, which is what I usually look for in unflavoured powders. Does what is says, anyone doing HIT knows just how much it takes , absolute fail on every set, nutrition and rest is the key. There is no doubt in my mind taken 60 to 90 minutes after cooling down helps my recovery, energy levels and ability to recover and be fresh for the next session and that's important if you really need to focus and have that metal attitude of yes I can do this, one more rep, which you really can't if you are fatigued both physically and mentally..
