However, when you exercise and participate in sports, the rate of catabolism increases so you need to consume regular protein to help manufacture and rebuild damaged muscle fibres to support recovery and enhance performance.

Been shoveling this down me since the raw age of 16 and now I'm an absolute weapon. Helps for those days where your chicken gonzo after a heavy sesh (usually legs, if you do em.... which i don't) and need some boosting for the next day. Rate this product, 2 scoops a day, one before and one after your sesh, mix it with milk and your good to go. Plus, the flavors are proper mint, don't be a tightarse and save like 2 bar 50 by getting unflavored,if you do your like that family relative who sellotapes a one pound coin to the inside of your card, like cheers bro. Anyways 10/10, cop this asap to be looking like a fully loaded AK for summer. Goes Well With:Gains.
For pity's sake, is anyone actually going to review the products effectiveness and stop harping on about the taste? "oooooh it tastes lovely", "chocolate is the best".... We don't buy this for the taste! We buy it to supplement our diet and bulld some good lean muscle. Go and buy some nesquik if all your after is a tasty milkshake. By the way, it's a great, quality supplement and I got some good gains... FACT!
Mocha: Being on a maintenance/cut and loving coffee and its flavor, this was perfect. Has the right amount of coffee-to-chocolate ratio although they both could be a bit richer in taste, simply due to my sweet tooth and preference. Has a biscuit type flavor to it that was unexpected but its so good! I have it with water in the morning and fulfills that coffee taste i search for! 10/10 Strawberry Cream: PERFECT! I extremely enjoyed this on a cut, the most consistent flavor i have ever had in terms of easiness to drink and not becoming sick of the taste. Definitely the most reliable if you are looking to start off with this product! Mixed with water was probably better than mixing with milk and made it taste like a milkshake! Haven't had it in a while and probably sits in the number 1 spot simply due to how reliable and enjoyable this flavor is! 10/10 I may add that there is a consistent mixability throughout all flavors at a very high standard and actually texture of protein, never experienced a problems with lumps with this brand and protein content is great! Would advise weighing scoops when watching macros as the protein can become quite compact quickly! Seen major gains when cutting and when bulking! An all round very reliable and recommendable protein product that can be used all year round with a clear goal, diet and exercise! 10/10 would recommend to anyone unsure of a reliable protein supplement!Goes Well With:Milk, Water, Almond milk. Mixes well with oats, fruit, peanut butters and cinnnamon!!
I love this product, amazing flavours at a great price. My only concern is the measurements. I just weighed a scope and it was about 50g, double the packets instructions. For those watching their calories/macros this can be really deceiving and just shows why it is so important to weigh everything rather than rely on scopes for measurements.
Have tried the banana, choc and summer fruits - all palatable (if a bit too sweet). But tried lemon cheesecake and it is the most revolting thing I have ever tasted. It has an overpowering chemical aftertaste. I couldn't drink a full shake even if I attempted to down it in one go. Tried baking it into cookies but the cookies taste of it too. In the bin! Sorry.Goes Well With:Lemon cheesecake flavour goes well with the dustbin.
I've had four 5kg bags of this. The first three bags were fine - really effective and it mixed up really well. The fourth bag is awful. It's a completely different product, it doesn't mix at all, and it ends up totally sloppy and undrinkable. I contacted myprotein twice and they've sent me two standard emails saying each bag may be slightly different due to it being a natural product. This is absolute rubbish, it's not the same product in the bag! I didn't want a refund, I expected them to swap the bag for a new one. How disappointing - I won't be buying any more from myprotein.
Excelent value for your money , whey is good and very testing and fine with a lot of flavours. If you are able you must try this at all cost.
I got my butler, Jeeves, to purchase two bags of this delicious powder of protein, and both flavours (chocolate nut and sticky toffee pudding) were quite delightful. When one is hunting peasants, you do tend to get quite tired but this whey protein restores your muscles so you can keep chasing and flogging for much longer! Goes Well With:The tears of waifs and strays.
I used to buy the chocolate flavour religiously until one day I decided to save some money and step my nutrition up a notch. I expected a peg on the nose moment when I first drank it but was very pleasantly surprised. Unflavoured (with skimmed milk for me) isn't a compromise as it tastes just fine. I tend to use a hand blender but the shaker will mix it; hence why I gave 5 stars. Also, I like the fact it only requires minimal liquid - it's a quick and easy way to achieve results. Save yourself some money and avoid the reduced protein content supplied through the flavoured options; ranging from 3% to 8% decrease in protein.
I've been buying this product for years and it is superb. Especially with the special offers that are always on, it's easily the best value for money, the flavours are amazing and the nutrition is on point too. It's by miles the cheapest and easiest way to make sure you fill your protein requirements. I've gone for 4 on mixability because, although it mixes very well, it's just a little better if you blend it or use a mixer ball. Effectiveness is certainly very good but I hesitate to give it a 5* because it obviously depends on so many other factors, like the rest of your diet and your training. For me, I've mainly tried to maintain muscle mass and recover well from workouts and it certainly helps with both of those. I've had a quite a few flavours now so hopefully I can help a little with the difficult choice of which to go for. Chocolate smooth - standard, pretty good, just a basic chocolate flavour. So much better with milk than water. Chocolate brownie - like a better, richer version of chocolate smooth. Really good. Banoffee - it's a bit odd. It's a kind of sickly banana and toffee flavour. I feel like we expect it to be good because banoffee pie is really good but actually banoffee pie is good because of biscuit and caramel and the banana/toffee flavour here doesn't really do it. Apple crumble and custard - don't go big. It's alright. It tastes of apple and a sweet, milky flavour. You wouldn't want a big bag but it's fine. Chocolate peanut butter - doesn't quite do it. Nice idea and I was excited but it's just like chocolate smooth with a bit of a funny aftertaste. Chocolate coconut - I personally don't like it but I know some people do. It's not like a Bounty - it's more like chocolate with a kind of tangy, quite artificial coconut aftertaste. I don't think it's that good, and also why not just get chocolate and add some coconut extract? Cinnamon Danish - this is one of my go to flavours right now. It's really good. It's vanilla and sweet and cinnamon-y but also there is a definite flavour of pastry or bread which actually is really good. Golden Syrup - I had a sample first and now I have a whole bag. I think this is incredible. If you like golden syrup, it's amazing. It's really sweet so I think it'd be a little sickly if you just drank loads of shakes but definitely if you do things like cooking it into pancakes etc. then it's be really good. Honestly this is a great flavour. Maple syrup - I like maple syrup but found this a bit overpowering. Maybe cooked into things again would be better. It's good and very true to maple syrup but possibly a bit strong. Lemon cheesecake - quite artificial, not very cheesecake-y but not a disaster. I'm still on the fence. Sorry if that isn't very helpful. I'll try it again! Salted caramel - really good. More sweet than salty - you could always add more salt if you're after that taste. But it has a rich flavour and it's good. Rocky road - genuinely I think this might be the most disgusting food I've ever tasted. A sort of nearly ok chocolate flavour to start and then just the most vile, sickly, sticky, artificial fruit flavour which gets into your nose and makes you want to gag. Really, truly horrible. Cookies and cream - it just tastes of vanilla. It's nice. It's kind of milky and sweet. Nothing to write home about. White chocolate - pretty much the same as cookies and cream. It's just a generic sweet, creamy, milky flavour which is quite nice but nothing crazy. Sticky toffee pudding - it tastes of toffee. It's good. If you really like toffee, get it. If you prefer the taste of chocolate or caramel or syrup or whatever, don't be excited by the fact it's named after a dessert. Just get one of the other ones. Banana - this was my first ever so my memory is a bit rusty. I think it was quite boring and possibly a bit too sickly but not terrible. I think the fruit flavours are all quite artificial. Also, just eat a banana. Have a shake you can't eat. You probably won't have all that many bars of chocolate so it's quite nice to have a chocolate shake. However, you probably will have a few bananas. That's all I've tried. Just go for samples and judge your favourites. I think chocolate brownie, golden syrup, salted caramel and cinnamon danish are the best but a lot comes down to personal taste. I hope this helps. Enjoy!Goes Well With:Although they're all great with milk and almost as good with water, I really recommend cooking with these. Protein pancakes are a must and cakes and so on are great too. Get some decent recipes and if you enjoy eating don't just drink your calories. Make something with a bit of substance!
I'm slowly working my way through the flavours, I use it once a day through out my pregnancy, but back to two shakes a day when I start training hard again post pregnancy. I have had no problems with it at all, it gives me a real lift and helps me hit my protein goals. I've tested -Vanilla and Raspberry - 6/10 on my preference. -Chocolate Smooth - 10/10 !! -Mocha - 9/10, loosing a point for not having enough coffee flavour -Vanilla - 10/10 spot on, can't go wrong - Strawberry - 8/10 not bad, but could be a bit stronger taster Those are based on my preference. But, aside taste, they mix well and don't have a chalky effect.
I don't normally leave reviews but feel that they should be left when deserved, or rather, I was just finishing the last scoops of my Chocolate Peanut Butter flavour and felt it would be a sin to not let others know what a great tasting flavour it is. I had first purchased from MP around 2011 however, I wasn't overly impressed with the mixability/taste of their proteins but having been urged to give them another try 4 years later, due to the excellent improvements MP have made it's safe to say I am now a loyal customer and feel that they are doing the industry an excellent and fair service. For people commenting on the proteins 'effectiveness', the product has enough protein per scoop and BCAA content for optimum muscle growth - just focus on hitting your macros which without a doubt this supplement assists with. I believe taste is of the greatest importance given if you buy a foul protein you can't drink (this has happened to me multiple times), you aren't going to be getting any of the benefits. I have tried a wide range of other competitor brands, both high and low end, and although they don't always get it right (Peanut Cookie tastes very artificial/chemical-like) the majority of MP's products taste great. I can personally vouch for the Chocolate Nut as well as the Chocolate Peanut Butter (best flavour I've ever had) as previously mentioned and hope I will be able to same for the Chocolate Brownie that I have just ordered. In conclusion, taste is the most important thing with any protein (unless the brand has a ridiculously low amino profile/protein content) and MyProtein, although they don't always get it right, have a EXCELLENT variety, with some great tasting flavours at very reasonable prices. Thank you MP for your work and good luck to everyone with their gains for 2015 - this product definitely helps us get there!Goes Well With:Milk and water, although milk for a tastier shake.
I purchased a 5kg bag of this. I had 2 x per day and a hurricane post workout. Having a structured workout, in the gym and out I felt this worked really well combined and I had noticeable gains. Get a blender, add yogurt or coconut milk, frozen fruit from Aldi's (cheap) and protein and mix. A good replacement meal, protein in there. Go adventurous, add honey, peanut butter, banana or whatever.Goes Well With:smoothie
I've been buying vanilla impact Whey Protein for over a year now and I've never had a problem with it; tastes great and always mixes well. However, I thought I'd try a different flavour and went for the maple and pecan..... DO NOT BUY!!! It is undrinkable!!!
Where do I begin? This 2.5kg bag of gains transformed my life from being a rake weighing in at a measly 66kg to over 75kg within 3 months of pumping iron. Malia 2k15 had never seen such big biceps in their history, seriously this stuff puts on muscle, especially when you're having 6 a day (like I do lol) would highly recommend for any weedy lads with toothpick arms to get involved with this... Drink it, snort it, inject it! I don't care, just get it in you.Goes Well With:Gains and girls
I've been buying this for many years. Very occasionally, you'll get a bag that doesn't taste quite as good as the last one. With the current bag (batch 94978), I couldn't even finish my shake due to the poor taste. Mixability was poor too. Hopefully this is just a bad batch. I will try it again in a few months as I've found it to be a very effective protein up until now
I really like the taste of chocolate smooth but in my opinion it is way too sweet, almost sickly sweet then I had a eureka moment! mix 1 kg bag of choc smooth with 5 kg bag of unflavoured protein powder and voila, perfect not too sweet chocolate protein drink! You might have to experiment with ratios to find out your perfect drink but 1/5 ratio worked for me. cant wait to try the other flavours I tried but didn't like because they were too sweet this way. Also a bonus that it mixes really well with the free protein shaker I got when I ordered from mp.Goes Well With:Milk, Water and Oats
When I first started dieting I weighed in at 18st 2lbs, after finding out about MyProtein I decided to use their products and I wanted to start off on Impact Whey, after using this product for a couple of months I can really see some difference in my health, looks, mind. I feel a lot happy now that I have found something that helps with larger people like myself. I am currently at 15st 13lbs still going down. NO PAIN NO GAIN!Goes Well With:Milk or Water, I prefer water as there are no calories extra added.
I was recently introduced to MyProtein by a friend, having previously used Optimum Nutrition as my source of whey for some years. The only negative I can draw from this discovery is that I had not been made aware of it sooner - the quality is excellent, the taste is fabulous and the price is next to none. Now, this would have otherwise been a bog-standard review about how typically excellent this product is, and I would have stopped here, if I had picked a "safer", less controversial flavour. But I am a white chocolate man through and through, and part of what had sold me to MyProtein so quickly was the discovery that an affordable white chocolate whey protein existed (ON's white chocolate option is extortionately expensive). Being a careful man, I had a quick look up on popular forums and videos for flavour reviews, and was left disappointed - at best, it was a "chuggable" flavour, and at worst, it wasn't even worthy to be produced as a sample, and should be used to lace the poison to kill your worst enemy. I can tell you now, fellow white-chocolate-lover, that these reviews are scathing and unfair, and that there is nothing to fear in committing to 2.5kg, or even 5kg, of this delicious flavour. I personally make my shake with 300ml of skimmed milk, and use 1.5 scoops to get the right intensity of flavour that I most enjoy. Now, don't dive into this bag thinking it's exactly the same as a finely-blended MilkyBar - the smell and flavour are more akin to the white chocolate vanilla mice that you see in Pick n' Mix sweet shops, and the texture is about as thick as a standard milkshake. It tastes excellent chilled, and I have enjoyed it so much that I have given away my remaining ON whey flavours just so I can take this one everyday. Go in with an open mind, and even take 2-3 shakes before you make a decision. If you're anything like me, you won't be disappointed!Goes Well With:300ml skimmed milk, 5mg creatine, 1.5 scoops - post-workout shake. 45g oats, 200ml skimmed milk, microwave for 2 minutes, stand, then stir in 1 scoop - tasty, filling breakfast.
You know the feeling when you're having a dream about your crush or you're just riding along the rainbow with your unicorn while shaking that whey of yours. You get this sensational feeling that you've reached everything in your life until you suddenly stop shaking your Lemon Cheesecake flavored perfectness and you decide to take a sip. Suddenly your unicorn stops and rainbow starts to shine even more.. You feel the AWESOME flavors which will bring you right next to Arnie and suddenly he looks small.. He then decides to take a sip also and same stuff happens. You're having yourself riding with Arnie to never ending GAINLAND. This stuff is awesome and works! Goes Well With:Milk, water, gains, porridge, unicorns and rainbows
Upon perchasing myprotein's excitingly named 'chocolate brownie' flavoured protein powder, I was, needless to say, excited to try my first shaker full of the chocolaty protein goodness after my workout. I walked into the changing room feeling satisfied that I'd sufficiently torn down enough muscle fibres in my legs to wound an average sized bison. Sweat dripping from every known orifice on the human body (some of them unnecessary to name) I unscrewed the top of my shaker bottle praying I'd remembered to wash it up after my previous session, and that I wouldn't have to set fire to it due to the unmistakable, soul destroying smell that comes when you leave your shaker unwashed for days. I tore open my bag of protein to met with a very pleasant smell. Everything seemed to be going rather well, so I continued to pour a heaped Scoopful of what I assumed was going to be an extremely satisfying and tasty chocolate protein drink that would have complemented my post workout pop tart perfectly. However, after shaking my protein thoroughly, popping open then with the sort of glee you see on a child's face after being told by their parents they can have sweets if they're good, I took my first highly anticipated sip. Then, without warning, like a kick to the crown Jules followed by a Stone Cold Stunner (not unlike the one received by Scott Hall at Wrestlemania 18) it hit me, the lump in my throat that was unmistakably unmixed protein powder. Wet on the outside, dry on the inside, sticking to my throat peanut butter to the top of a dogs mouth, I sat there for a moment contemplating life and wondering what I could have done to deserve such horror. I thoroughly shook my protein one more time, expecting to have just been rather unlucky, maybe it was just a rogue lump that had somehow hidden itself away in cylindrical, smooth sided bottle. I popped open the lid once more and took another sip, only this time to be hit with a steel chair (think Gerald Brisco at Backlash 2000). As I drank, more and more protein lumps poured down my throat like a waterfall of disappointment. I finished my drink, closed my shaker and walked back to my car wondering if the next month and a bits worth of shakes would bring me any joy or if I would have to suffer the waterfall of disappointment after every training session. Unfortunately, a month down the line, the only positives I can say is that I am now accustomed to chewing on lumps of protein after my workouts and it still tastes good. Generally, to me, protein is protein but if I have to chew it, I'd rather it was on a plate with chips! Goes Well With:Goes well with porridge or in a smoothie. Or made into pancakes.
Had to order my Whey Protein this time without any flavors added- best decision I've made. No more weird chemical aftertaste, no matter if it's your favorite fruit/berry/sweet etc., as it's still just a flavor, not a real thing. People take Multi-vitamins unflavored anyway, so what's the need to flavor Protein? As long as it's taken for a reason and with good outcome- that's all that matters. Thank you. Regards. Goes Well With:Banana.
I received my latest impact whey protein, had a shake there and it tastes completely different from the last one, my partner and my daughter who also take protein say the exact same, totally unhappy with what you have sent me.
Been using this whey protein for a long time now and I thought I'd try the White chocolate flavour. It was disgusting! Worst flavour I've ever had. apart from that flavour, it's the best protein source you can buy!!
dont order the white chocolate. it smells and tastes like sick/cheese. stick to choc/vanilla/strawberry/banana
I've had a lot of protein shakes and none are better than myprotein, don't bother trying out new and 'I might like that' flavours just get strawberry! Mixes so easily and tastes just like any normal tasty strawberry milkshake! Been taking for 2 weeks along with training and already noticing small differences!
Best company for supplements by miles. Delivery's lightening quick, products are top quality, best array of flavours I've ever seen, beautiful consistency/mixability, great prices! I wont deny that I've had a couple of flavours from MP I haven't been overjoyed with - but that's purely personal and because I'm not a fan of synthetic sweeteners - but when you're watching your sugar/carb intake, understandably you've got to make compromises! I'd recommend to everyone, to get a few flavours at a time if you can. I'm currently working an awesome mix of peanut butter choc with choc coconut as I bought the latter and it was too sweet and the peanut butter's slight saltiness takes the edge off. Or, if you find any sweet flavours too much, add a teaspoon of cocoa or if you can get it, raw cacao (significantly less sugar, sharper taste) to level it out! If you haven't already, jump right on the MyProtein bandwagon!
Before using this whey protein I used to get no gils but now I'm swole as f*@k, I get loads of gils. I've gone from the size of my mums garden rake to an absolute unit in just a couple months, I'm absolutely lethal! It works best if you get the skinniest lad at the gym to pour it into your mouth when you're dumbbell pressing 32kgs, nice one bruva! I can't just give credit to whey protein for turning me into the Incredible Hulk, I've also been using so much pre workout I'm usually steaming out of my ears like a f*@k off kettle! Before, during and after! get this stuff down ya to be looking like a cheeky nandos lad for summer! Get me to NAPA OIOI GILS GILSGoes Well With:GILS AND DEALS
Something has changed, this is the second batch now that I've ordered that has been very hard to mix. Been using myprotein for around 5 years now and always swore by them previously but think I may have to go elsewhere now after my last 2 experiences.
Been buying this whey for a decade from my protein. Ordered a bag of Choc Brownie- consistency seems to have changed. My latest bag is the worst mixing whey I have ever have the misfortune to use. It simply does not mix, even with a shaker! Absolutely appalling which I find shocking from a myprotein product. Again, unlike myprotein, choc brownie is a terrible flavour. Just tastes like coco and not much else!Goes Well With:bin bags
Been a customer for years. Complained once about the moist and unusually lumpy and difficult to mix consistency of the powder. When adding water it rolled in the shaker like water off a ducks back. When using after workout the shaker is full of globules. You end up chewing lumps of protein in the gym...not nice. I was ignored by customer service or overlooked by customer services. Poor way to treat return customers if more bulk suppliers come into market customers will switch if not respected. I suspect they were suspicious that some time had passed from purchase to complaint but I buy in advance long before I run out. Usually a good product. disappointing.Goes Well With:A blender... for a long time. Try fitting one of those in your gym bag.
This is excellent product, hats off to MyProtein. I would like to give a detailed review of Strawberry Stevia and Unflavoured. *****TASTE 1) Stevia Strawberry tastes amazing, even if mixed with water it tastes as awesome as Strawberry milkshake! For anyone interested in statement (96% whey protein inside) it still have 20g of protein per serving , which is awesome! 2) Unflavoured tastes also good, the closest taste I can compare it to, would be very skimmed milk. (mixed with water). My suggestion would be if one is using water to mix unflavoured protein, do it with cold water, it tastes more pleasant than warm water. *****Mixability Both Strawberry Stevia and Unflavoured have very good mixability using Protein Shaker. *****Effectiveness I have noticed better recovery between workouts as I added Impact Whey protein to my nutrition. Also better muscle gains! Thank you, MyProtein for this amazing product, -ArnoldGoes Well With:Water, everything
my gym isn't great seeing as everytime you bang a deadlift thunder comes down but then agaim I am gods left peck so doesn't really effect me but I'm getting off topic. Great for muscle repair and tastes great. Basically a real mans/womans milkshake. Then amazing for getting great gains but will do then jobs if you not a pro which most people aren't. P.S do some reps for Jesus and get down to your local gym park and be a gluten and get some gains boy.Goes Well With:The milk from a Coca goat which can only be found on a island off Scotland and you must travel for 3 days up a Ivey mountain call Goatfell and there and only there will you find the Coca goat. Or just get some semi skimed down the shops.
first off i orderd this impact whey protein and had it specially delivered to the gods relm and it took awhile but hurculease managed to deliver it via his horse pegasus.but when i tasted t6he penut cookie it made me roar in discust and i felt it hard to keep down as i kept gagging from the flavor apart from that mixability good just DONT GET PEANUT COOKIE!!!Goes Well With:satans blood
First time buyer, I was amazed at how fast the delivery was, I'd ordered 1kg of pineapple whey protein and decided to pick the cheapest deliver option, and it was at my door the next afternoon, 5/5 there. Smells fantastic, but the actual taste was slightly disappointing, I don't think I'll be buying the pineapple flavour again, however it is drinkable and I've tasted far worse. It mixes very quickly, 10 shakes and it was clump free, 5/5 for mixability. Over all it helps me hit my macros, I can mix it with water quickly, and its drinkable, I think I'm going to try smooth chocolate next month. Goes Well With:Water, Pineapple juice.
I got this on offer during my very first order from the website. Although some reviews mention that it has an odd taste (I bought the unflavoured one), it's fine hwen mixing with your own stuff at home. I wanted the unflavoured one so that I could add protein powder when cooking. As a drink, I just add a teaspoon of hot chocolate/chocolate powder or a banana/some berries and its really tasty. Goes Well With:chocolate powder
Buy the whey, have you tried myprotein chocolate impact whey? If not, then you probably should. First things first, tastes pretty good but that's not why I drink it. I use whey for the gains I want to make. If I wanted a nice milkshake I'd buy nesquik. The whey powder mixes pretty well. I had no problems at all with mixing it up in a myprotein blender bottle. No residue powder left at all meaning I got 100% of my gains. As for effectiveness, well in a few shorts months of regular use I went from gym rat to FREAK BEAST. I guess you say this whey had quite the 'Impact'Goes Well With:Water
I've been using Impact Whey protein for the last 6 months as a supplement to hit my protein macro targets for the day. As a T2 diabetic I've got to be particularly careful when eating carbohydrates, even complex carbs! The protein shakes definitely slow the absorption of the carbs I eat, resulting in slower release of energy. The taste definitely helps: I know this is NOT a "milkshake" and shouldn't be all about the flavour but dayum, these flavours make protein shakes a thing to look forward to! I pour cookies n' cream flavoured shake over my shredded wheat cereal in the morning: a great tasting pre-lifting / workout meal. I'd also recommend chocolate orange flavour. As for recovery time and "effectiveness", my recovery time has definitely improved since taking these shakes. I can also say that (IF you put the hard work in!!) the results on my body have also improved! It's not the shake that's worked as a "miracle potion", it's the increased protein intake with a sensible diet and exercise plan that's helped me get to where I am now. Thanks MyProtein - I won't go anywhere else! Goes Well With:Water, milk, dairy alternatives to milk, cereal. (does not cook well!)
Usually a big fan of Impact whey - it's effective, mixes well and the strawberry/ raspberry flavours taste amazing! I thought I would push the boat out and try blueberry....big mistake! I'd say it's more of a bubble gum flavour than anything else and is very sweet and sickly, especially first thing before/ after a morning session. Immediately regret buying 2.5kg. So in short, Impact Whey...good. Blueberry flavour...bad.
Couldn't ask for anything better! I've been through 5 different flavours of the Impact Whey (Chocolate Smooth, Chocolate Orange,Chocolate Caramel, Jam Roly Poly and Chocolate Peanutbutter). All of them have been bang on! Can't wait to order my next bag! Bring on Rocky Road!!!
I bought the unflavoured version and there are only slight clumps(less than 1%) when mixed with milk, however I don't tend to shake my protein shaker for longer than 30 seconds, the unflavoured flavour tastes exactly like you would expect it to, tasteless! Tried it with just the powder and could not taste anything, just the texture of the powder. Overall I believe it's an excellent product, going to use it more often when I start working out.Goes Well With:Semi skimmed/whole milk
I recently purchased the new Birthday Cake flavoured whey and it tastes insane- it really does taste like a cake and it has added sprinkles would give it 10/10. My favourite recipe for this is to use make it into a mug cake with using a little bit of baking powder and almond milk and use sugar free jam / syrup on top - 100% I recommend to anyone who is unsure of trying it. I also purchased the Cinnamon Danish flavour, which does taste like it says. I think the flavour is quite overpowering to have as a shake though and tastes better when mixed into yoghurt or oats, for a cinnamon flavour it is still very sweet and would give it a 9/10 For other flavours that I have tried Cookies and Cream isn't great- it just tastes like a very sweet milk and likewise to Vanilla leaves a sort of weird aftertaste, which isn't very nice. For a pro of the Cookies and Cream- there isn't much difference in taste when you use water in comparison to milk so I think if you are wanting to use water but aren't too keen on the flavour when mixed with it this would be a good option (would rate it 7/10) Strawberry Cream is a great flavour, for having shakes it is one of my favourite and it is very refreshing and doesnt taste overly artifical- which Strawberry Stevia does. Sometimes the simple flavours are the best, would give it 10/10. For Chocolate flavours I have tried Rocky Road and Chocolate Brownie and I think they both taste slightly artificial. Rocky Road is a lot sweeter and does have a sort of more syrupy taste throughout- it is a nice flavour and I found the mixability was great on this flavour. Chocolate Brownie has a sort of chemical like taste to it- but its sort of the way that brownies taste.. if that makes sense? the whey tastes like a brownie batter- which is kind of nice but kind of has a weird taste and this is exactly the same! I would rate them both (8/10). Both taste very good mixed into Greek yoghurt.Goes Well With:Water, Milk, Yoghurt, Oats, & Cake
I'll keep it short and sweet. Chocolate brownie tastes great just like those frijj branded milkshake but without the mass fat and sugar. Great to mix if you don't have arms like twigs. Reasonably effective however haven't turned into Arnie yet. Price is great compared to other brands. Stop being stingy and try it. Goes Well With:Mcdonalds, side order of KFC and Krispy Kreme to finish.
Well yes the taste is great... but lets face it, that's not a major concern. The main issue is if it is actually effective? Well i take Whey Protein morning and post workout. I then take Casein, a slow release protein, right before bed. I will be honest... my recovery time after a workout is reduced. I wake up in the morning without all the aches from the previous days workout and i am able to train again much quicker than before. In addition, having the Casein at night has actually helped my sleep. I don't get any of the usual waking up hungry or dehydrated as I used to. And a restful, decent nights sleep is another recovery and builder for anyone who trains. I'm not saying the protein is any better than other proteins out there on the market. However: The price is reasonable The taste is great It mixes well It works So why should i change to another brand...... Hope this helps anyone considering buying Whey or Casein protein.Goes Well With:Water or milk but i use water.
Blends easily, taste great and noticing results after a month of using
It seems ridiculous that we're still having conversations about how well protein mixes. I mean, it's 2015. Surely we'd moved on from such a basic element of such products. But no. I've tried many other varieties of whey, and some were pretty good. But purely in terms of reliability, this stuff wins. Add a scoop or two, add milk/water, ten seconds shake, boom: perfectly smooth, perfectly tasty. Seems like a little thing, but like a lot in life, it's the little things that make the bigger things better.
Bought for boyfriend for training& he loves it
I got the unflavoured version of this protein. I also have choc mint stevia one too, the choc mint mixes great and is an ok taste. But the unflavoured is extremely clumpy and doesn't mix well. I bought 5kg of it aswell! I may not be buying from myprotein again. Goes Well With:Water, greek yogurt, milk
This is the nicest whey protein I've ever tasted, and that's comparing it to Met-Rx, Holland and Barrett, Musclefood's own brand 85% whey and a few others in the past. I tried two scoops of the salted caramel flavour with 500ml of ice cold water and it worked out at 40g of protein and around 200 calories. It tasted excellent, there's amore of a butterscotch aftertaste than salted caramel but considering it was made with water the taste was fantastic. The powder mixed quite easily in a standard shaker with a metal ball, didn't clump up and was a genuinely nice drink. I have also tried blueberry cheesecake, tiramisu, rocky road, banana chocolate and banoffee flavours and they were all absolutely fine. I have only tried them with water but they would probably be even better with almond milk, although obviously more calorific. Finally, a lot of people have complained about the pouches not resealing properly. I have not had this problem with any of the 6 x 2.5kg bags I bought personally, as far as I am concerned it's not an issue.Goes Well With:Mix 2 scoops with 500ml ice cold water and have half before and half after a weights session. Also an excellent bedtime snack if you're looking for satiety without the excess carbs or calories.
Vanilla - 6/10 not as good as I was hoping I think they could do better with this. Choc smooth - 9/10 definitely smooth tastes similar to galaxy chocolate when mixed with milk. White choc - 8/10 was surprised by this one, no chemical taste. Choc mint - 8/10 tastes like mint aero maybe a little mintier. Choc orange - 9/10 love this one tases like terrys choc orange. Banoffee - 6/10 not really a fan fairly sickly taste. Orange cream - 7.5/10 this one is ok again though it can get sickly. Jam roly poly - 4/10 certainly not for me, chemical after taste. Banana - 9/10 beautiful and consistent flavour. Truth is if you buy a 5kg you're going to get sick of it eventually. Max I'd recommend is 2.5kg when you're trying a new flavour. All mix well and all taste best with milk IMO. Goes Well With:Milk, instant oats
