Protein Shakes Galore

Smoothies and Protein shakes are a great way to start your day or to kick the habit of snacking on naughty treats throughout the day! Christmas is round the corner…along with all the chocolate and sweets that come with it! Like Halloween with it’s overwhelming sweet treats, Christmas brings us Mince pies, Christmas pudding, chocolate Santa’s and advent calendars! Oh those pesky advent calendars, they get me every time!

However, there is a lovely sweet solution! Smoothies have quickly become the new “craze” amongst many fitness fanatics! The recipes and concoctions are endless! From a simple strawberry and banana smoothie, to an extravagant berry, strawberry, banana and passion fruit blast! Smoothies are only limited to how creative you are! On the other hand, in this technology boosted world, you can simply hop online and find an endless list of creative recipes you can try out for yourself!

Here are my top 5 smoothie recipes that I recommend to everyone!  Simply add all the ingredients together and blend!

Protein Shake Recipe 1: Coffee Protein Blast

This recipe gives me a nice kick for those pesky early Monday mornings we all dread! I get my coffee fix from the Latte flavoured protein with some helpings of fruit!

Smoothie Recipe 2: Green Booster Smoothie

  • Ripe Bananas: x3
  • Spirulina powder: 10g
  • Kale: Handful
  • Beetroot: x1
  • Dates: x12
  • Broccoli: Handful
  • Honey: 3 tbsps
  • Water: 100 ml (water depends on how thick or thin you like your smoothies)

I must confess, in the beginning I was anti green smoothies however, with the ripe bananas, dates and honey it does give it a nice taste!

Protein Shake Recipe 3: Chocolate Cherry Sweetness

  • Myprotein Chocolate Whey Protein: 2 scoops
  • Dark Cherries: 2 cups
  • Spinach: Handful
