Purchased this product as a good all round basic protien . It has a high protein content per serving and is one of the cheapest on the market . Strawberry was by far the best flavour , tasting great with water and milk , chocolate was ok and vanilla a little sickly . Used this product for 3 months and noticed visible improvements , before moving on to Hurricane XS for the added creatine and enzymes .

Purchased this instead of my usual competitor product as i wanted to ditch the carbs that were in it and try and shift some BF. The protein amount in each serving was one of the highest i could find and i also couldn't find any cheaper brands of protein. I've found that if you use more water/milk when mixing you get a much smoother taste and texture and after a few days it actually tastes quite nice. Great product and find it a lot easier to hit my daily protein target when using this shake.

Switched from Impact whey and am on my second 5kg bag, the effect of mix of diffent protein absorbtion rates seems to work and keeps me fuller for longer. The second batch tastes much better too, (not sure if the MP have changed on purpose but the first batch tasted pretty bad)

Firstly id like to say the service from My Protein was great, delivery was very quick. The product mixes relatively well, altho i actually think about 400mls water instead of 500mls is enough and it tastes better.Taste isnt really that important to me,altho Total Protein tastes about the same as most protein shakes so i def dont have a problem with it.

Dont be put off by the bad reviews of taste. I bought vanilla and i mix it with porridge and honey and it tastes great. I also like it in a shaker with water. It has a high ratio of protein per scoop and is low in calories compared to the big brands. Ive done a lot of shopping around and this is the best value ive found.

Firstly all these reviews about "it doesnt taste great, not to my taste" - MAN UP and drink it. Its a source of protein not a nesquick milkshake, i drink the unflavoured one (saves you a few quid lol). More importantly Its a good priced product, and will last you a while.. unlike many other items on the market. Im not going to comment on results, as most people seem to think you'll finish a pouch and instantly look like Arnie.. However all in all great product, and im just about to purchase my 2nd lot, which undoubtly wont be the last :)

I use the unflavoured version. It's acceptable mixed with oatmeal and water and cooked to make porridge. But when soaked overnight to make muesli it's disgusting. Best use has been to whisk a scoop into a can of low-calorie soup whilst heating.

Used to use this product when i was gym'ing it last year and i increased in lean muscle alot more whilst i was on this product than when i wasn't so it's safe to give it a 5 for effectiveness. Mixability is an issue but only when you leave your shake as the powder begins to congregate under the surface and also at the bottom of your shaker. Taste is an issue also but only on occasions, i've found that if you mix it a certain way you acheive better tastes. Place 2 scoops into your mixer, poor on water allow to absorb some of the powder into the water then stir with a spoon for 30-seconds to a minute changing directions every so often. This ensures the shake that was stuck to the bottom now easily mixes with the water and creates a nice consistency and a nice taste. I prefer choc smooth.

This is a great product. I opted for Total Protein because i thought it would help me achieve my goal of getting more cut as well as adding a little muscle, and its a reasonable price. The main reason for choosing Total Protein was because its about 80% protein per scoop, with hardly any crabs, which means i can have it after a gym session and before bed and not worry about packing on the pounds, but also getting sufficient muscle growth and recovery. It tastes good with water and mixes reasonably well, ill admit i know some people that think the taste is repulsive, but its good for me. I think this is a top quality product, and would recommend it to anyone with the same goals as me, because its helped me achieve my goal!!!!

I bought the choc smooth to use before bed mixed with milk. It doesn't mix all that well however the taste isn't bad, I can only describe it as a slightly wheaty choc milk. Sticking with this for now

This is a good protein supplement if you're training hard and maintain the right lifestyle. If you're not happy with the taste, buy the unflavoured version and the best thing to do is get some no frills / smart price / basic frozen berries from your supermarket and hand blend the whole lot. Tastes great and is a healthy portion of fruit.

mixes well if blended doesnt mix the best in the shaker, tastes nice if you can get the powdery bits out the shake. does work really well and does aid recovery well, is great value for money and is probably to cheapest and most protien rich on the market.

Absolutely horrible tasting product, lucky me I bought 5KG of it. I went for Chocolate, it seems to be grainy and super super sweet. It's really not to my taste. Yes albeit the amount of protein per order is a larger quantity, the taste is utter disgusting.

Seems to tick the right boxes. Still only a few months into use though (hence, 3 for Effectiveness). Would help if other reviews didn't bang about the taste and mixability as if it were a normal shake. Us newebees would benefit more from how effective the product is. Positive results for me (so far) when combined with a good overall diet and exercise programme. Good value product nevetheless. Will stick with it.

this is a great product,at a truly great price, long before whey protein come to the market place the most common protein powder source was milk&egg protein powder, you cannot go wrong with this supplement, the protein profile is the best on the market due to the whey protein craze people are not getting the full protein spectrum that is required for growth & repair of mucsle tissue. Whey protein has it's place in sport's nutrition, but is not the only protein source required,l would advise anyone starting training or looking for a different supplement to use to total protein,l have been training, studying sport's science and nutrition for 20 year's so you can trust this review, well done to myprotein, for bringing this supplement to the market place, and for giving the consumer a great choice of product's at good prices.

A good size pouch and great mixability. Good service from My Protein regarding fast delivery. However, this is the worst tasting product I have ever tried. I ordered VANILLA and I have to force myself to use it each time. Maybe the other flavours are better?

Ok. I use unflavoured as I don't like synthetic flavour chemicals in my body and yes, it doesn't taste good and can be hard to mix. But, if you stop whining, shake it really hard and then get it down your neck straight off then guess what, you don't notice it. That said, if you must flavour it then mixing with a little skimmed milk powder can take the edge off. As an all round general purpose supplement this is very good, especially considering it's half the price of the combined protein products of people like Sci MX or USN. I've been using it for years now and wouldn't change.

I have the recommended amount of serving per day which is 2 servings, each with 2 scoops so 4 scoops overrall however i divide it over 4 shakes instead of one so i have only one scoop per serving but have it four times a day because your body pretty much urinates anything over 30g away so theres no point in taking 45g in one serving. Great product though, i had vanilla.

Excellent value for money product with a good mix of different protein. Ideal for having just before bed and first thing in the morning. I have noticed my gains stablising and increasing whilst using this, which has been around 4 weeks now. Also good value for money. As a final point I guess I should comment on the taste, which is fine, I got the vanilla flavour and tasted like an ice cream cone so not bad. But to be honest I think there are too many reviews on this site which bang on about the taste all the time..whats wrong with you muppets!? Someone was on about the flaxseed ruining the product..what a joke..get a grip, man up and down your supps..also when people read a review they want to know how it works not how it tastes!

This protein has a great profile. Haven't had any issues with mixing bar the flaxseed settle at the bottom if left too long. Biggest issue was taste. I didn't expect it to be nice but vanilla flavouring either doesn't mask it or makes it worse. I'd recommend getting a strong flavour like choc smooth as drink choc powder was enough make this drinkable and a nice shake.

Been on a fitness drive since xmas, but I'm new to supplements. Tried some off the shelf products from another company but far too sickly. Got the chocolate smooth bag of this and yes it's a little grainy, but mixed with milk tastes fine...even starting to like it now. Using it daily in the morning and then as a recovery after evening gym (2 - 3 times a week). It's helping support my diet and I'm seeing fat loss and strength gains quicker than before I started using this. Thumbs up.

Without a doubt the best protein powder i've ever used. I use this powder as my only source of protein due to how cheap and effective this powder really is when compared to whole food, also for convenience as well. It tastes great, but if you don't like the unflavoured version, just buy a flavoured version, it's that simple really as the quality of this powder should negate the taste.

This product would be great for guys who want to lose weight, as it makes me feel INCREDIBLY full and bloated for hours after drinking it. It is a pain because I need to eat 6 times a day, and I am just not hungry :o(. So to conclude, if you are trying to lose weight, it's great and will halve your hunger pangs. If you want to gain weight and need to eat X times a day, then this product is not for you.

OK this is my first 4980 gram bag, Very good product. The price for the amount of protein you are getting per serving is excellent, Mix ability is good, the consistency is usually slightly gritty / Bitty, but nothing to worry about as its still very drinkable. Taste is very good, Not too sure what some people expect from a protein shake and why they say it taste nasty, at the moment i would recommend this product. for its great Value!!! and taste !! I'll post more information about my results after i finish the bag..

Sorry but this is the worst tasting protein I have ever tasted, it mixes well at first but leaves a grainy brown stuff at the bottom of your shaker that you just can't bring yourself to drink following the taste of the rest of it !! I know it's not all about taste and should be more about gains but I can see how it helps you lean up as it stops you eating protein shakes and therefore consuming less calories. If you decide to go with this then defo go with the flavoured ones, they might be a lot better.

Bought this after being on the myprotein whey isolate for 5 months and beginning to plateau, i must say, if you are going to buy it then do not buy the chocolate smooth flavour. I don't know what type of chocolate they base it on but it tastes more like cow dung. the mixibilty isnt great, it is very powdery and unpleasant on the throat, but in conclusion i don't buy protein for the taste its just a bonus, so i shall get back to you on what the effectiveness is like soon.

I currently take a rival's tablets with Total protein, i personally don't excersise, as in specifically going for run's etc, i ride my bike short distances and have a kick about every now and then, nothing strenuous, yet with both of these products i have noticed a real difference, if you're being sensible with food, keep your metabolism up, and be consistent with taking these supplements, then you will be pleased witht he results, as am i. FYI i'm a 20 year old male, who has gained definition, lost fat and gained lean, i'm not a very commited or consistent person, so even when i have the day off, i'm not disappointed, and all my previous efforts aren't wasted. Yes it's a bit grainy, but so what!? i prefer it, feels like it's something with substance rather than a normal milkshake.

Brought this for two reasons, firstly, the advise of mate whos been using the product for some time and has had great results, and secondly, its a hell of a lot cheeper than what i had been using. Mixes relatively well, id read most of the reviews on this product before buying it and mixability issues seemed to be quite common. It does leave a slightly powdery tatse but nothing to drastic. totals not too bad, just drop the water you add for a thicker consistancy. Overall really happy so far, all that remains to see is how effective it is and ill and add review on that in due course.

Taste is not bad at all, slightly medicine like but not as bad as I have tasted from other products. I mix it with rolled oats for breakfast and take take milk after a workout as a shake. I guess some flavours taste better than others but I can confirm the Vanilla is DELICIOUS. It actually tastes as good as high street milkshake, 'cept of course its much more useful to anyone looking to build lean mass through weight training. Product mixes very well after shaking it a minute or two and produces little froth. Can't comment on how effective it is yet as this is my first day of trying it. But seeing as it's three different types of protein I think it will be pretty good. As for the added vitamins of other protein supplements, you should be getting most of your vitamins in your daily food intake. Arrived within 24 hours.

usually stick to true whey but decided to buy some of this to use at bedtime for a slow release protein during the night...bad idea! it doesnt mix well, creates so much froth that i actually have to pour it out of my shaker and into a pint glass-it then settles a bit like a pint of stout and has about a 1.5 inch layer of froth on top even after it has been left, i have to spoon off the froth and down the rest in one and always gag after i finish. i bought strawberry cream and left it but have now had to use it until my next order arrives and wanted to warn about how repulsive this is-really is the worst tasting product i have ever tasted! it does seem as effective as the true whey though so i suppose thats a redeeming feature!

I take 1 shake after the gym and on rest days I take 1 shake for breakfast. The taste is pretty good, although I definitely preferred Strawberry over Vanilla and with re: to the price you can't complain as most other companies are v. expensive compared to this site. I'm a long time user of the more expensive brands, but decided to save some money and try this stuff. The taste isn't quite as nice but still good, but it's certainly just as effective if not even better than the top brand stuff. I've added strength, muscle and lost fat. Why pay more?

After having True Whey last time I thought I'd give Total Protein a try. Really wish I hadn't. After the other protein shakes I've had previously this one is awful. It really doesn't mix well at all. Even when I'd given it a much more thorough shake than usual it has a really unpleasant powdery texture, and the taste doesn't make up for it either. I don't reccomend this product at all. Next time I will return to either True Whey or maybe just a different brand altogether.

Very good product. Can't argue with the price for the amount of protein you are getting per serving. Mixability is not the best, the consistency is usually slightly gritty but nothing too bad. Have only started using it recently so no obvious gains yet but would definitely reccommend.

This is my 4th time ordering this product, needless to say I think it's very good - 46g of Protein per 2 Scoop-Shake. There are also three different types of Protein in the powder, including Whey and Egg White - so there's is a good variety and different speeds of absorbtion. Add your own dose of creatine (availible seperately for about £14 - and this has lasted me over a year!) and you have a very Potent Shake, with low carbs (for lean muscle) for a really good price - half that of some other leading brand 'all-in-ones'. It does tend to 'froth-up' quite a bit when mixing in a shaker, but leaving it for a minute or two and 'swilling' it around in a circular reduces the frothy texture. I am personally dubious of protein shakes that mix too well as worry they are over-processed and not as effective e.g. micro whey. Taste isn't bad either - Chocolate Smooth being my preference, Strawb OK and not tried Vanilla. A freind tried the Unflavoured stuff to make Flatjacks with - this was a disaster and he is now left with vile tasting 'flavourless' stuff. Hard to fault at the price and all things considered...

i usually buy the true whey for £28 however i was a bit short on cash so i opted for this protein. the mixability is very poor, i have to mix it with a fork in my shaker before i shake it up or i just end up with powder stuck to the lid. as for taste it is really nice, and with 46g of protein per serving you cant go wrong for £20. nearly finished a pack after two weeks, seen slight improvements however i will definately be going back to the 5lb tubs true whey when i have finished this pack.

simply put- it works and tastes good. tried all flavours and prefer vanilla, all are good but strawberry is slightly chalky, although have yet to taste a strawberry flavoured supplement that doesn't! can be used at anytime due to the tapered release set up of the proteins, i especially like the use of casien protein within the product as well as the faster digesting egg and whey, simply as it means less mucking about buying casien as well as a post workout shake. i've used this product for a couple of months now on a 1 or 2 a day basis (1 bag can last the month on a 1 shake a day routine) and have followed a 5 meal a day nutrition programme. the results have been roughly a lean 4kg increase. one of the biggest likes i have about 'total protein' is the high protein content per shake, for 300g+ a day can be inconvenient when sourcing from just chicken and beef etc, but with 1 shake beeing roughly the same as 1.5 chicken breasts (and tasting a damn sight sweeter) you cant complain! the only downside to the product in my opinion would be fixed bag size of 1800g, why cant we buy this in a bigger bag? as mentioned the big protein content is ace and to be able to nail 2 shakes a day from 1 bag would mean the perfect buy for me and im sure other people have thought the same, this then is the only reason i wont give it the full 5 stars overall, but everything else deserves top marks in my experience. if you want a sound protein supplement that covers all bases so you can only have to worry about your other supplementation and food, buy this!

Have been using MP for nearly 4 years, tried a wide variety of products over time and been impressed by most. Sadly though, this product just doesnt cut it. Trialled strawberry flavour with milk for 2 months and then choc for 3rd month, using it as slow release protein source before bed (milk because it slows down absorption). Texture and taste are manageable, (much sweeter than hurricane, whey, or weight gainers for example) usually i would say past the point where u can neck it without issue it shouldnt be a problem seeing as its designed for a specific purpose, not as a treat. However i found i started to dread the bedtime shake because of its strange consistency (with or without milk) probably contributed to by the flax, but the main reason being that it just sits heavily in your stomach for literally hours! Not in a way that you know its there like you'd possibly expect of casein, but in a rather unpleasant way. Everybody's different but iv never had problems with any of the additional ingredients like L-glut and flax when taken separately or in other products. My conclusion is that whatever is added to this formula in order to aid digestion is actually doing the opposite and inhibiting absorption. Either that or i begin to question quality of some ingredients. Id like to recommend it but sadly i feel let down by MP. Bedtime extreme could be worth a try for u guys but i found myself going to other companies for my casein hit.

I've tried both the stawberry and chocolate and much prefer the choc although both flavours are easily stomachable for me. It mixes great with water, just a few shakes is all you need, the consistenct isn't too thick and just right. I normally have a scoop and a half, maybe a bit over which gives me 40g of easy quality protein. Great product and I would highly recommended if you're after a blend. Craig

Have been using the Impact Whey unflavoured for quite a while now and right from the start, i found the taste horrible until i started mixing with a spoon of nesquick. Just had this delivered today and found it so much better to drink. Bought Strawberry and vanilla. Have only tried strawberry so far (mixed with skimmed milk). To be honest, i found it a bit grainy, but i think this can be solved with a touch more milk and even if it doesnt solve it, hey, I got used to a lot worse and was happy so that minor thing isnt enough to stop me giving this 5/5. Great product, mixes well, tastes good and didn't leave the sickly sweet aftertaste you normally get with other flavoured protein powders. What more can i say. It's only £20 and does exactly what it says on the tin (bag).

After some deliberating I went for the unflavoured Total Protein - starting to get concerned about all the chemicals going into my body. I figured I could surely handle the taste, but after it arrived I logged straight back onto myprotein.com and ordered a vanilla flavouring to put in it. I've tried almost every type of protein powder - whey, soy, pea, brown rice, hemp, milk and now egg. Total Protein unflavoured tastes worse than soy, whey or milk; but better than egg and much better than pea - about on par with rice or hemp. It's the egg in this, I think, that gives it a bit of an undesirable taste. Still, the blend of proteins and addition of healthy fats (flax seed) is why I bought this and I know my body will respond well to it (won't have to eat quite as many nuts and seeds now). Great value, just go for the flavoured option.

I really liked the chocolated flavour mixed with porridge in the mornings - if you make porridge with water and then add a scoop of chocolate total protien and a couple of teaspoons of sugar free instant hot chocolate (like options or highlights) it's really really good! But I just got the vanilla and it might just be me but it doesn't seem to mix as well or taste as good. The vanilla shakes up quite well with skimmed milk but is a bit chalky. Very good source of constant release protien with all the added extra to make sure it get to where it needs to. I have been using this for quite some time. It helped with gaining good lean size. I also make my own protien bars out of it. This is the only protien powder I have ever used that does not cause me digestive problems. Enjoy.

What can i say? This is by far the greatest blend of time released protein i've encountered. It does the job works splendidly as bedtime protein a meal replacement along with a few nust and some carbs (preferably oats). Also it's now my only favorite breaksfast along with some slow carbs and some good fats form nuts or similar. Can't stress enough the quality of this product. For me taste isnt important (i got used to some extremely bad tasting products) and even in this department total protein shines! I got chocolate smooth which is just perfect tasting chocolate for my liking since i dont like overly sweet flavours. Its semi sweet and a little bitter like good dark chocolate usually is. It isnt lindt chocolate but isnt far either. Extremely pleased and i always take it with water. I just dont use milk cept one a month for some pancakes. Actually you can make some fine cream with this to use in pancakes! Cheat meal without overly cheating? You can! And tastes good to! :)

I bought the unflavoured version to save on money and the amount of chemicals I was putting into my body, and it's pretty unpleasant. At first I struggled with it and mixed in a teaspoon of cocoa powder which masked the taste, but now I'm used to it and it isn't so bad. Otherwise it's great! Been using it instead of another much more expensive brand and seen some good lean gains in my body.

Choc smooth flavour - For months i have been searching about for a "nice tasteing protein shake" as many others out there will be doing the same! Well i have finally found myself 1 with this product! Months and months i have been searching and training trying to find the right protein, and i have spent £££££££ on some that to be honest make you "heave" and sometimes "throw up" well look no further than this! Its a must buy! And not that expensive! The taste is abit like a thick shake, the only thing i can think of sort of on the same lines is Ready break Chocolate, very nice putting it in microwave for few mins aswell

Bought this stuff to have whilst at work to stop the snack cravings. Fast delivery. Pouch is really easy to shove in my draws under my desk. Mixes really well - I use one of MP mini shakers which is ideal. Tastes OK, not as nice true whey though. Tastes a little bitter. Thats what brought the mark down. Overall really handy, would definately recommned for a quick protein fix.

Recieved my 10kg order and have been all over it to see how good it really is. Ive drawn up some valid comparisons for those serious about taking in adequate nutrients - NOT based on superficial nonsense for wimps who cant drink something unless its perfect and tastes like a field of strawberries.\n\nAfter looking through the ingredients and looking at the independant lab certificate and then comparing it to the massively expensive pro-peptide from CNP which is very very high quality.\n\nFirst off total protein has more protein and a little less fat, but what fat there is is based around flaxseed which is a solid source in my opinion.\n\nThere are adequate digestive enzymes and other protein synthesis triggers to do the job.\n\nIn short, this product WILL work and certainly isnt £30 different in quality from cnp's, although that is how much your saving.\n\nOnce again Myprotein have held my interest and trust as i do have a wandering eye.\n\nNo mess no fuss no hype just facts and honest presentation. Thanks guys.\nHope this helps anyone serious about buying and taking who wants to know it works rather than if it mixes well (who cares? It does though).

For a while I had been making my own mix for protein shakes: Whole milk, Impact Whey Protein, and Egg White Powder (with Instant Oats at times for carb loading), which is a hassle, takes time and costs a lot.\n\nI recently found this other product from MP and it looks extremely promising. I look forward to receiving it.

This is a new mix for me, does not mix as well as my previous shakes, taste of the chocolate is pretty poor compared to the creamy shakes that I usually have. However the ingredients seem to be good and hopefully the results will be too it may be worth the gritty taste for the protein.

i have to agree with the comments about a grainy texture but take a look at the price and remember you are getting a lot of protein for your money , if you havent got the balls to pinch your nose and down a couple of servings then how do you manage to get under the bar for a heavy set of squats ? i use it to supplement my more exspensive protein and have 3 scoops before bed and throw in a couple of teaspoons of canola oil to really slow down digestion - as for results ? well proten is just a food supplement if you aint getting enough of it through whatever source then you aint gonna grow- Simple. i can say however i my results havent got better or worse - just a nice progression of strength and size . but my mrs dont give me an earache as much cus of the price , seriously considering ditching my main protien and using mp total whey !

I normally buy Impact Blend, which I've found to be good stuff. Decided to give this a go for a change, and results seem to be good - I think I've been recovering better than normal, presumably because this has more slow-absorbing protein than pure whey supplements. \nThe flax seed does give it a kind of grainy texture, even though it mixes really well, but it's not a big deal. My only complaint is that the strawberry flavour (the only one i've tried) tastes pretty artificial - does anyone know what ingredients they flavour this with?

I first bought the choc smooth and although I always use a blender to mix it was still dry and powdery and not big on flavour. The Strewberry is better and tastes better.\n\nIts packs a lot of protein and I had no stomach issues. \n\nI disagree with people who say taste is not important if you dont like it you would go elsewhere so reviews on taste are important.

The total protein shake was my first protein shake. I thought it was OK. I ran out before I had the chance to order more so had to buy a mid price (30% more expensive than MP )one from Holland and Barrett. It was so disgudting I was gagging when taking it. It was a real releif to have the Chocolate Smooth shakes back when my order arrived. So relatively speaking.......it's gorgeous

I decided to do the V-Diet and I needed a supplement that provided my with both fast and slow releasing protein sources. I bought a bag of Chocolate Smooth to give it a try and I have to say I'm very impressed with it.\nThe taste is fantastic and I can't believe some people complain about the grittiness. It's hardly noticeable and if you can't handle it them buy something without the linseed/flax content.\nWould definately recommend this to anybody wanting to gain lean weight as it keeps you feeling full. 5 well deserved stars

It seems to be a good quality protein supplement. It works for me like other proteins that I had before but it is cheaper. Also I had problems with digestion of some proteins before, but no problems with Total Protein, it digest very easly. If we talking abut taste - come on, what did you expect ??? This is not milk shake like Frijj or Yazoo, this is food supplement, sport nutrition. I tried many proteins in my life and the taste of Total Protein is one of the best. Mixability ?? Did you ever try to mix low quality whey concetrate ? Impossible without electric blender. TP mixes very easly even in simple shaker !\nI have only one "but". Why MP didn't give us information on webside about ratio of diferent kinds proteins in Total Protein ?? Why did they give this information in MP MAX Total Protein XS. I would like to know this. I hope that they don't put inside for example 80 % of milk proteins and the rest 20 % is impact whey, impact izolate and egg proteins (that would explain why MP Total Protein is so much cheaper than MP MAX MAX Total Protein XS) because if the do, it means this is rubbish supplement. Please MyProtein let us know about ratio of the protein sources in Total Protein. Thank you.

One of the key ingredients of this product is Flaxseed (sometimes known as Linseed), and to quote Wikipedia "Excessive consumption of flax seeds can cause diarrhoea." (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flax) - so this might be why the gentleman who posted before me (see post below dated February 05, 2009) might have experienced toilet issues.\n\nI've tried 3 flavours and these are my favourites in order: the Vanilla (lovely!), Strawberry & Chocolate Smooth. I've also topped-up my shakes with extra ground/milled flaxseed and when I stopped I myself no longer got the toilet issues :)\n\nI've also been mixing into my shakes a single-serving some of MP's Superfood XS (unflavoured version https://www.myprotein.co.uk/formulas/mp-formulas/superfood-xs/) and this goes very well with it - hardly any discernable difference made to the 'Total Protein' shake's own flavour.\n\nObviously the texture grainier than 'True Whey' which I've also had before - but the grainy quality is down to the flaxseed content.

I have been using total protein since I got it, the ingredients list is impressive and if you want to keep lean while adding muscle this stuff is great! especially as it has everything you need both before and after workouts as well as before bed!\n\nHowever having previously used more expensive branded products I have to say the taste isn't great and I think this is important especially if your taking it three or four times a day! however considering the price I wouldn't consider this to be a major problem, if anything its just a bit grainy!\n\nMy biggest problem with this product is that it has played havoc with my bowels I have had to stock up on imodium since taking this lol and that's not a good thing at all, I thought this might just be me being sensative to protein in general however I switched to another protein because I couldn't handle it anymore and the problems I had on MP Total Protein disappeared so I can only assume it was the MP total protein causing all of the problems.\n\nOverall this is not a bad product but if your a bit sensitive to any of the ingredients in this then be careful cause you will be using the toilet ALOT!

Ohh, chocolate smooth is gorgeous. Im generally of the mind that chocolate flavoured things are for fat people, lol, but this is awesome. Would of gave it 5 stars but i think its a lil expensive.\n\nI dont see where people get this its gritty and lumpy from, i shook mine for about 3/4 minutes, and its as smooth as a babies arse! I initially wanted total protein XS, but they only have vanilla flavour, and my last experience of vanilla flavoured protein wasnt pleasant at all.\n\nSimply gorgeous!

I bought 3Kg a while back and it is one of the best vanilla products I have tried. I normally add mine into porridge, yoghurt and even into fruit smoothies. It doesn't affect the texture or taste and adds a huge chunk of protein without banging the carbs up, ideal for those who are in keto or low carb diets. I also have the chocolate which i make into a drink although with less water than the 350ml suggested to increase the thickness.

When people look at reviews, they want to know what it actually DOES. Every single person on this page writes an entire essay about how it tastes and its mixibility. i thought i'd try this as an 'upgrade' from my usual WPI protein shake, which i generally find fairly unsatisfying, non-filling and watery.\n\nAm very impressed. Even mixed with water the texture is great. It is much thicker than a normal whey shake, and keeps you full up for longer, so it is a good 'snack' substitute. Even though i bought it unflavoured, it has a pleasant mild vanilla smell. No side effects - i.e. gas, belching, etc.

I ordered 1kg of Total Protein, and it arrived about 10 minutes ago. Well, I tried some, and its really good! It mixes very easily. Usually some shakes leave a thick froth on top, but this one dissolves really fast. I also like the strong sweet taste. Its not very thick, so I assume you can mix it with fruit juice or something else, and have no problems. I will write another review once I have finished the tub! So far, it seems great. Would recommend this over Bed Time or Whey Isolate.
