So I bought this for endurance hiking as I am building up to 100km at the moment we are only at 12.5 miles and I end up exhausted, cold and with a headache, despite electrolytes and carohydrates in my 3 litres of water. I thought this might help. I am not teally sure. I have finished the last 2 walks without a headache but I still feel cold and exhausted. The others seem to have so much more energy then me, we are all around the same fitness level. So I am not sure this has made a difference. Taste: ok would be better if there was a range of flavours, as it is kind of milky I feel strawberry might be better. It also does have a chemically sort of twang. Mixes ok but you have to keep shakingGoes Well With:Electrolytes and carbs in your water Protein shake at the end.
The product has a strange taste, we bought it instead of using lucozade. The flavour is quite strong, tastes almost like fresh orange juice and has a weird texture. Like other reviews state the usage is a bit unclear. My husband changed his normal Lucozade for this but says he struggles near the end of his run and has gone back to Lucozade. He has also had a sick feeling after using the product. Wouldn't recommend this product as not really sure what its benefits are.
I am a competitive tennis player playing all over the world in the juniors circuit. I have often suffered with cramps mid match however due to this drink I have not suffered anything so far (2 weeks), it doesn't mix well but tastes good so I would definitely recommend it
I've used this on a few long distance road bike rides. Mixes very well but does tend to settle at the bottom of the bottle after a while. However a quick shake sorts it out, tastes good and goes down very easy. A great productGoes Well With:Progel

The product usage on your website says: "This shake has been designed specifically to enhance hydration† and improve performance DURING prolonged endurance exercise†. (...) to consume DURING your workout. (...) maintenance of endurance performance DURING prolonged endurance exercise and (...)" On the product package, under "Suggested use" says: "Use immediatley after exercise for optimum results" Can anyone enlighten me on what is this product dsesigned for? DURING or AFTER exercise?
Taste is a bit strong, don't mix very well, overall average compaired to other brands.
It's difficult to tell what his product is for. It's marketed as an aid to longer training but the usage is confusing. We're told to take it 45 minutes before training and also to take it during. It suggests that we're able to train for longer because it gives you greater energy - presumably through rehydration. I'm a fitness instructor who teaches 20 hrs per week and have been taking chocomaine for energy. I say this as a substitute and the marketing suggests that it may be. I recommend products to my customers - I don't know if I could recommend this because its not clear. Advice?
Just what I needed intra work out. I use to take just BCAA in a juice, but PRO:LONG gives me added carbs as well as BCAA and electrolytes. Excellent to help me push out those extra reps. Mixes well after a couple of good shakes, but settles again if left to long. Not a problem, just shake it up again. Tastes excellent. Goes Well With:Water and hard work.
Have only just starting using My Protein products and so far have not been let down by the true performance that I have currently seen. Was unsure with what carb drink to use being a cyclist and been using my old brand for the past 2 years. So Pro long was the perfect choice.... Watt bike ramp test was the session to see how good this product was and I was not disappointed, increase gains on power was the big plus and touching figures I have not been able to reach so far this year, even after a reliability event yesterday. I do feel that half the measure would be recommended if out on the road, but as a new product it's all trial and error.
I needed something to allow me to go longer in my speed endurance sessions in the winter and this does the job. I was using Powerade before and this is better, has extra ingredients and is cheaper. The taste is good. Like watery juice, slightly acidic but very, very drinkable.
This is the first pre-workout I have taken in powder form. I am currently training for a 30km Adventure Race & my training includes steep Hill-Running. I am not a strong runner at all & in my first week of training I was breathless, sore & couldn't make it to the top. In my second week, after using this, I made it to the top 10 out of 12 times without stopping. Recovery was much much quicker too!! I sip on a little of this before my workout, and then throughout. The taste it ok, would be best used with ice cold water as can taste a little sickly if water is warm from being in the sun. Product needs a good shake in-between sips as powder gathers at the bottom. Overall, great product so far! Loving the MyProtein range- quality products & great value for money!!
I had reviewed this before and wasn't overly happy with the change in it though it was still effective. Thankfully with my new bag it is back to what it was and much more pleasant to drink. I couldn't do a workout without it. Was feeling unwell the other day, half heartedly started my workout while drinking my ProLong, turned out I was dehydrated and this miracle drink helped rehydrate me and I felt a lot better, thoroughly recommend.
Am now on my 3rd bag of Pro Long and am delighted MP seem to have got the mix just right again. The 2nd bag I got as I reviewed was very strong and acidic and had to be really diluted to make it drinkable. Now it is back to the way it was and is perfect so I am happy now with my work out drink that gets me right through to the end and pull out that wee bit extra when I need it. At a very intense spin class last night I was fading towards the end, a good drink of Pro Long gave me the energy which gave me the stamina to push hard to the end. Thank you MPGoes Well With:Cold water
I'm using the supplement during my adventure racing training schedule. Being an 'intra workout' supplement generally means you also take it before and immediately after training. Shorter sessions (such as 10k runs) I used half a serving before and the other half at the end. Longer sessions of over 1 hour, I generally use one serving per hour to 1.5 hours depending on intesity. So far, it does exactly what it promises. I remain fuelled throughout, plus recovery is improved with the addition of the BCAAs. It mixes well (no leucine froth), has a pleasant taste (only tropical is currently available) and is not too strong on the palate. I mixed it with 500ml of water rather than the suggested 400ml due to me prefering a milder taste. It's also cheaper than the other brands of similar products.Goes Well With:Water, caffienne, sweat
I was looking for a pre workout shake when I spotted this and decided to give it a try. It's a brilliant idea and suited me better than having to try and take something half an hour before working out. I have been using it for a couple of weeks now and it has seen me through to the end of several 60-90 minute workouts. I just take a sip between reps and I feel that I could go on even longer if I needed to. I only gave it 4 stars for mixability because after a while a little bit of powder accumulates in the bottom of the shaker. But a quick shake and it mixes up ok again. The flavour is very refreshing too.
I don’t like leaving review`s but this time I thought I would i`ve only been taking this pro long supplement for a few days now and i`ve seen big benefits from it already before I started taking it I used to drink just water & i would get bad shakes during/after training & was sore for a few days but now all that has changed i`ve only given 4stars for mixabillty cause if you leave for a bit it settles on the bottom of the bottle but a quick shake mix it up again so if results keep the same then I will defo order moreGoes Well With:water
I have just received my new bag of Pro Long, made it up for my session at the gym and immediately noticed the difference in the appearance of it. Previously it looked like a very weak solution of orange juice, now it is like a concentrated orange drink. It tastes very strong and acidic. It also now has a powdery feel to it that it didn't have before. I was quite disappointed with it and had to pour half out and water it down. Guess I'll have to mix it with less powder in future to keep the strong taste down. I really enjoyed it before and am disappointed in the change, just hope that with it watered down it is as effective as it was, time will tell.
I really liked the great fruity, citrusy taste of the pro:long. I made the consuming of a not always tasty protein drink much easier during work out. And it is really great for these days where your workout last more than an hour, because you keep the engine going with the mixture - thus the rest of the training beyond 1 hour is not awfull anymore. Furthermore the endurance needed when wanting to train more than twice a week this gives a great energy boost. Goes Well With:MYPROTEIN HYDROLYSED WHEY PROTEIN PRE-DIGESTED and MYPROTEIN BCAA BRANCHED CHAIN AMINO ACIDS.
This PRO:LONG is a great intra-workout, it gives you lots of extra energy keeps you going for longer.
I love this product. - No caffeine (many gels and carbohydrate powders contain caffeine for some reason) - Amino Acids to support the muscles and maintain them during long intense cardio sessions. - Good carbohydrate blend to provide fuel, with no stomach problems - Electrolytes to restore what is lost in sweating - Vitamin C (extra vitamin C is always good, though I wouldn't mind if this did not contain any) - Great taste (if not mixed to strongly) Goes Well With:A long hard workout
Since I started using a hydration pack for trail running and events this month I had been looking for a product that could help me go that extra mile that I would possibly miss out on with just water. Being a regular Myprotein customer I knew they would be my first port of call to find a product that could help with my longevity needs for exercise. So far I have used Pro:Long for 10km trail runs with great effectiveness, at the end of the run I felt like I had plenty of gas in the tank despite some difficult hill work - thanks to me drip feeding myself Pro:Long via my hydration pack. When I completed the Spartan Race Super obstacle course the other day I used my hydration pack filled with Pro:Long for the 2 hour plus ordeal, consequently I had the energy to perform well in the event and avoid cramp too in what has to be my longest continuous activity I have ever performed - event wise! This is highly recommended!Goes Well With:Water + Spartan Races
I started drinking Pro Long about 2 weeks ago during my work outs. I sweat a lot and always had to drink a lot of water to get me through my workout or class. First time I tried it I didn't think it was much good but now I wouldn't do a workout without it. It's very pleasant tasting and certainly gives the energy to push on. I drink a lot less of it than I did water and feel well hydrated when I am finished plus I think I am not sweating just so much. I would have had to refill my bottle with water but now I can manage with the recommended amount of Pro Long and often have some left over which I would finish on the way home. Excellent product and will definitely be buying more, very happy. Mixes very well too.
Looking for that little bit of an extra boost midweek in the gym and this certainly keeps you alert and pushes you. Noticed I was able to do an extra few reps and my mind was sharper. Good product and equates to cheaper than a sports drink in the gym and better than H20Goes Well With:Iced water
As with most supplements, I'm always a bit sceptical about trying new products and how effective they might be. However after using PRO:LONG for 2 weeks now, I can not give it any more praise! I've used this product during my gym workouts, intense pre-season training for rugby and during seven-a-side football games for my work side. I can notice the difference compared to water, as Pro:Long leaves me feeling more hydrated and more energised. I feel like the difference is made by the science behind the product, and I am positive it isn't just the placebo effect.
I'm actually following a High Frequency Training routine with body-weight, suspension trainer and free-weigths. It's really demanding and I felt a bit out of gas, so I went into this Pro-long. I can notice a true difference between drinking plain water and this product! Maybe it's just a placebo effect, but so far it delivers.
It says it has a mix of carbs and proteins ect, but if you check how much is in a scoop its only 2.1 protein. not exactly alot, but otherwise tastes great and certainly gives you a buzz for working out
