I'm currently training for a 100km event and have been suffering with dehydration and severe cramp once I'm past about 4 hours. I used Ener:Gel for the first time last weekend and was really pleased with the results. The taste (I used blackcurrant) is really good and not too sickly sweet as some of these thinghs can be. It is also quite liquid and not the glutinous gelly that you sometimes get so eating/drinking it was not a problem. I used one every 40 minutes for 7 hours and while I can't claim to have been as fresh at the end as I was at the start these definitely helped me maintain a comfortable energy level throughout - and no cramp at any stage. I'll up to 10 hours this weekend and give the tropical fruit version a go!
Great delicious taste, Keeps me fuelled on long hilly rides with no sickly feeling in guts. Def recommended
The gels seem to give me an extra belt of energy for when I play in a 30 minute 5-a-side game. They taste good and mix well after a protein shake which I take 30 minutes prior to the game.
As a new Customer to My Protein I find these energy Jels very Good, I used to use High 5 Jels which are ok but my protein Jels are much more palatable. I was recommended these by my nephew who is a Grade 2 personal trainer, he said to give them a try as they are not quite as sickly as High 5, Guess what he was spot on, so from now on you will have my custom also I will be telling all my fellow cyclist about My Protein products.Goes Well With:With anything that takes your fancy.
Brought this as something to have pre-workout. I normally train first thing in the morning so I'm in the gym by 6:30 so struggle getting something to eat before hand so thought about trying these to fill the gap. I know they are designed for people training for an endurance event but have to be honest I am really pleased with the result. I am taking one about 30 minutes while travelling to the gym and are definitely making a difference. I am able to lift more and work harder for longer as part of my gym session since using these so cant really complain too much. That said the taste does take a bit of getting used to. I selected the orange flavour and the best way I can describe it is something like a very weak squash.
Do you need to rehydrate? Or feel energised? Then I would advise you to get these ENER:GEL. I have been using these for a week and it's been fantastic, I could say bring on the pre-season training because with energy gels it seems I have an extra hour in the tank.
Bought these gels as an alternative to many other more-expensive and well-known brands of gel and must say that they are the best that i've tasted so far (i bought sunner berry flavour). They are thin enough to take directly (without water) so i haven't needed to mix them as yet. The isotonic aspect of these gels is particularly helpful in their absorption (which is quite fast) and the inclusion of electrolites is great. Highly recommended!
I was sceptical buying this as never used this type of thing before but it really does give you that extra push when long distance running. My wife thinks its a placebo effect but it's not! Goes Well With:Water
Great product, with great taste(if you like lime/lemon) I could not go on my long runs without this product,as always gives me a boost when feeling slightly weak on those runs. Having just completed a first half marathon,ener-gel was a must to finish the race strong.
If your not into sweet taste you should probably avoid this as it tastes much sweeter than SIS gels. The consistency is a bit more liquid compared to SIS but overall after making the change to ENER:GEL Im happy enough with the product.
I have tried the black current version of these and the lemon and lime taste so much better, they are easy to swallow and give a great boost for those long runs. I am training for a half marathon and these are perfect. Goes Well With:Water.
Only used them on a couple of occasions so cannot base my review on extended use throughout. However on the couple of uses I can say that I was able to run at a consistent pace than before. Easy to open whilst out running and not too sickly. Goes Well With:Myprotein Recovery XS
Great taste and works well for cardio.
Did exactly what it was supposed to do, without making me retch. Foil pack's quite sturdy too, which is reassuring when crammed into a pocket.Goes Well With:Hair gel.
I've only just started running after years of doing judo and various sports, no problems or cramps when running and certainly provides the energy to help beat goals! :)Goes Well With:I've gone for a mixture of three products including instaoats in the morning and Recharge after I've finished my run/sometimes during.
Probably don't feel quite as tired exercising when using this product half way through a session, can't say whether that's because of the gel or from being fitter than previous. Maybe a placebo factor, but anything is worth trying!Goes Well With:exercise!
Nice tasting gel not horribly thick making it easy to digest, I found myself looking forward to taking the next gel not dreading it. I usually take one every 45 on the bike seems to work well and more staggered on the run.
Great tasting and gives you that boost you need. Great for long distance running. Goes Well With:On its own
Purchased a box of blackcurrant ENER:GEL's. Much better than the previous gels I'd been using for some time; better taste, easier to take whilst on the move. Energy boost kicked in quickly. Took a couple during my local half-marathon and achieved a PB, knocking 4 minutes off my previous time, so very pleased. Will definitely use again.
I play a lot of squash and used to struggle with fatigue about 20 minutes into a game which was costing me. I started to have one of these just before the warm up and then when needed depending on the length and intensity of the game. The results were noticed straight away, my energy levels were off the scale. I can't imagine playing with out this stuff now. Goes Well With:Just water
