I bought this protein just resently and connot say anything about effectiivness yet but I know that the chocolate-mint taste is terrible. Unfortunately I bought a pack of 4kg which will now last forever. Pity the choice of tastes is so very limited. The good part is that if you feel hungry at night one shake before bedtime makes you feel sated but doesn´t give you the feeling of being stuffed. So its easy to sleep after having a shake.Goes Well With:semi skimmed milk
Bedtime Extreme seem to be a very effective product, but tastes way too sweet.Goes Well With:Water
Tried this about a year or two ago. Not great taste or mixability. Decided to try again and has been castle improved. Would recommend
I've found this product works amazingly well on an empty stomach, or even after eating. I usually do sleep all the way through the night without wanting to eat after one of these shakes before be, but sometimes I do wake up hungry. None the less this product is top notch, although as others have complained it is a bit chalky tasting, but still good and tastes rather good after brushing your teeth. That's the strawberry one I mean, as I've not tried any other flavour.
I have been taking Bedtime Extreme for about a month and am very happy with it so far. FLAVOUR I bought the banana flavour and find it to be pretty tasty with either water or semi skimmed milk, though I might opt for something a little more neutral like vanilla next time. USAGE Generally, as suggested. If I eat my evening meal fairly late due to work or a training session, then I tend to just use 1 scoop instead of the recommended 2. I also sometimes have a single scoop in addition to my breakfast, to keep me from snacking before lunch. SHOULD YOU BUY? If you're in the market for a product to keep your metabolism ticking over through the night, then you can't go wrong with this in my opinion. I will definitely buy more when my current pouch runs out.
After experimenting with this product over months, it is a definite part of my diet and supplementation now! It really helps keep my full during the night!
Taste isn't as good as previously used products (ON Gold Standard + Phd Pharma Whey). The range of flavours is second to none though. It has great effectiveness especially for the price. The mixability is fairly poor. Bit of a grainy consistency especially with 2 scoops. For the price i can't complain too much and as long as its effective ill continue to use it. Might try a Casein product and see if thats a better alternative to this.
Love this product tastes great, not to heavy mixes well. Everything I need in one shake good stuff!
I often try a new flavour and always end up going back to vanilla, but the mint chocolate bedtime extreme is truly the tastiest and smoothest protein I have ever tried. Perfect with milk and really prepares me for the gym in the morning. Enjoy!Goes Well With:Milk
Mint Choc is too artificial and sweet tasing
I tried the mint chocolate flavour and it is very tasty. I mix it with ONs Bcaa 5000 powder which tastes foul in anything else but mixed with this it tastes like after eights which is good in my books. Since starting on this my recovery has gone from fast to ridiculous and I am very pleased with. Does leave me feeling a little bloated so tend to leave some time to let the bloat go away before actually trying to sleep. But otherwise perfect. Goes Well With:Bcaas
I think that the bedtime extreme has increased my muscle mass and the mocha flavour is very tasty
This stuff works grate for me... Makes me sleep like a baby!! No getting hungry though the night. Well worth it money I can't sleep without it.Goes Well With:Water or milk
Great Taste, Easy to drink, high protein, would highly recommend the Choc Mint.
Hard to say if this is making a difference, perhaps a little but as I don't have a large protein intake then this should be a help anyhow. I have tried the mocha flavour and find it it to be quite nice to drink. I usually use coconut milk and it mixes well, sometimes ordinary milk but I have tried it with dark chocolate almond milk and this is the best, especially if you like the shake to be thick and chocolatey. It's all a matter of individual taste but I'd certainly recommend it and it doesn't seem to be a problem before bed if you have it 30-45 minutes prior to lights out.Goes Well With:Coconut or almond milk.
Wasn't sure what product to purchase at first, decided on the bedtime extreme, and it's exactly what I hoped it would be. Working shifts means I don't finish work till late and I don't get a chance to eat much in the evening, this means I get some protein to recover from my workout but isn't full of carbs and calories so is perfect before bed. Was hoping to get the banana but the mocha was cheaper, tend to use two scoops so can be quite sweet, I like it though. Needs a good shake, would recommend a mesh shaker rather than a ball for this one. Definitely will be buying this again :)Goes Well With:Haven't tried with others
Like the chocolate taste of this product. It takes a LOT of shaking in a mixing container to remove the grainy feel to it. If I can't be bothered, I just put up with the slight graininess. As far as effective goes, a night-time slow-release protein product like this has helped me get my weights up by between 10 and 20 percent in around 4 months, so overall very happy.
Overall I'm pretty happy with this product, however I found the taste (Choc Mint) to be a bit on the artificial side of things, and the mix texture quite powdery. Ordered some Mocha as that seems to get good reviews, so hopefully I'll be updating this shortly. I would like to see the calorific/nutritional info on the side of the packet too, as I tend to forget, and it's handy when your counting.
Been taking this for a while and made a few good gains. Bought the chocolate and mix it with my nutrigreens. Fills the hungry until the morning. Great flavour and mixes great. A must buy to get a few xtra caloriiesGoes Well With:Anything
Chocolate smooth is usually nice but recent purchase tastes completely different, almost like a burnt taste, just wrong. Anyone else had this?
Great time released protein blend. Ideal for bedtime when we are naturally fasting. Seem to have noticed a reduction in DOMS. Feeling ready to train the next dayGoes Well With:Milk
Really is a hassle free bedtime protein intake, I was getting fed up of eating cottage cheese before bed a hassle, this is great packed with protein, I take it with two BCAA 1500. Helps me recover quicker and add muscle mass. is the essayist shake I have ever used for mixability. Goes Well With:BCAA 1500
Bought this to help with recovery. Works well, not many aches in the morning. Doesnt get rid of them all but big help. Not a fan of the chocolate mint.. will be trying just chocolate next time.
I must admit, I've never rally used any branded product of this type...so haven't got a benchmark to compare this one to. However, I can remember when I wasn't taking anything for the night. After taking Bedtime Extreme training is easier the next day and I feel I haven't lost that much in terms of muscle size from the previous day... that however may be just me getting a bit paranoid about losing size. This way, or the other the protein tastes really well (especially the chock-mint type, delicious!) and mixes well too. I would recommend it.Goes Well With:water
After taking Bedtime Extreme I felt refreshed and my muscles were back to normal after a long day and gym. They are really worth trying if you don't have time on your hands to drink protein shakes in the day.
Bedtime Extreme is good value for money, it has excellent ingredients to last you through the night, but strawberry tastes not so good! There is also a slight chalkiness to it but we don't drink it for flavour do we?!
Was taking whey protein for ages until I discovered this was better post workout in the evening and before bed. Do not wake up hungry at night or in the morning and seems to be giving me gains on strenght and size.
I cannot comment on the long term use of this product but over the last two weeks of an intensive new exercise programme I have noticed a reduction in DOMS and would definitely recommend it. Goes Well With:Bedtime
I use numerous MP products and was after an evening protein. As ever with mixing I had no issues at all. I mix with water 80% of the time. As to the effectiveness of the product, I haven't used long enough to really give comment. The one outstanding feature of this for me was the taste and it was awful. Im not sure what it was, but it had an aftertaste that was quite unpleasant. So much so that I'll not be using the rest of the bag. Shame really. If you can get over the taste, the ingredients suggest it could be a good product.
I initially purchased this product as a late night Protein boost as well as keeping me full throughout the night without having to feel hungry. I have been taking the shakes for over 2 weeks and have found it doesnt me full at all I do still tend to get hungry throughout the night. I also feel that the taste (strawberry flavour) isn't particularly very nice, its a case of drink as fast as possiblr to avoid the taste as much as possible.
I have this Bedtime Extreme 30 minutes before bed and have yet to wake during the night with the screaming hungers afterwards! It's formulated for a slower release of protein than normal whey shakes, so it works while I rest. It tastes fine and mixes okay too... Give it time and you'll be surprised at how well it works!Goes Well With:Diet impact whey
Best I've come across. Better than plain casin.
I used Hurricane XS pre and post workout and felt some gains. I felt I was stuck at a level and not gaining much further. I suspected my protein intake wasn't high enough, so tried the bedtime extreme and I feel I've went through another barrier. 44g of casein protein through my sleep to keep feeding the muscles. I don't take it on non-training days as I don't feel I need it. A worthwhile investment for me. Will continue to purchase.Goes Well With:Semi-skimmed organic milk
Myprotein's Bedtime Extreme is designed to minimize muscle breakdown, aid recovery, and supply the body with a steady supply of protein during the night. I have found it does exactly that. Even after intense workouts, the use of Bedtime Extreme reduces DOMS the following day considerably. The knock-on effect is that muscles feel energised going into the next workout, allowing you to train harder and longer. The only drawback is as with any other night-time/casein shake. They can be thick, gritty and harder to swallow. Myprotein's Bedtime Extreme isn't as gritty as most competitor's night time shakes, but it isn't as easy to stomach as say, Impact Whey Protein.
I didn't get much out of this Bedtime Extreme. I am going back to the combo of Milk Protein and Egg Powder for my pre-bedtime feed, even though it tastes a lot worse than this product. This is all about recovery and I feel the latter combo works better for me. Goes Well With:Glutamine and Alpha Men
In the past, after cycling extensively, my leg muscles would ache the day after even though I took recovery drinks afterwards. Then I thought, why not take a slow release protein that is released during sleep when my muscles needed it the most to repair and get stronger? So I bought this Bedtime Extreme and it really worked! I can cycle for miles, still take my recovery drink and then take the 'Bedtime Extreme' 30 minutes before bedtime and in the morning - no more aching! Give it a try - it certainly works for me!
I'm very happy with the Bedtime Extreme. It mixes well in milk or water I use last thing before bed for a slow release over night, and I never wake up feeling hungry. Since using this product for my slow release and a fast release product for training I have put on considerate size. Taste is good I normally go for chocolate and use a blender to mix, I mix with water only, as not to gain to many calories and if I have trained late on sometimes include some whey protein in the mix. Goes Well With:Goes well with whey protein for fast and slow release
Bedtime Extreme seem to be a very effective product, but tastes way too sweet. It could be nice if there were less sweeteners.
This Bedtime Extreme is an excellent bedtime shake, it's slow release through the night. I have been using this for a couple of years, the results are great, it fills you up at night, tastes great and mixes really well. The results I've had are outstanding.Goes Well With:Milk at night tastes great.
Bedtime Extreme is an excellent product, it tastes really nice. The mixability could be slightly better though. Overall it's a very good product and I would happily buy it again.
I started with the banana Bedtime Extreme which took a few nights to get used to, but was good. I went for the smooth chocolate last month and I'm loving it. It's great to know my hard work isn't going to waste while I sleep. I mix with water half an hour before bed.
Bedtime Extreme does what it says on the tin! I love it as a big 40g shake recommended instead of the typical 20g casein one etc, hope they don't stop producing it because I am a customer for life !
Bedtime Extreme doesn't have a great taste, but the results are worth it!
I recently purchased bedtime extreme as well as impact diet whey and have been using them simultaneously. I decided to purchases these products from myprotein and use them whilst attempting the velocity diet in order to get in shape for the beach. The velocity diet consists of eating only one solid meal a week and surviving soly on protein shakes. I started this two weeks before my holiday and only took myprotein products within this period, five impact diet whey and one bedtime extreme shake a day. The results within this short period were significant and along with a rigouris gym schedule I have become alot more lean and trim without lossing any weight. I took a before, week one and after photo which I always believe to be the best way of evaluating the change in body shape and feel in the best shape of my life. Excellent products once again, William.Goes Well With:Impact diet whey
Bedtime Extreme tastes a bit horrible being the banana smell isn't too great compared to other flavours which I have had. I think there are alot of benefits to this, I will order again but just not in banana. I have put the mixability lower as when I drink this I feel it scraping the back of my throat.
I chose the Bedtime Extreme in mint chocolate, which taste wise, wasn't awful but I wouldn't recommend that flavour. I have mixed the product with both water and milk. I found that full fat milk at 300ml mixed to make the nicest texture and flavouring. When mixed there were a few bits left unmixed but this may be down to my shaker. I find that the product is working, my recovery time has decreased and my weight has increased. Due to my body time I need to ensure I eat before bed to reduce muscle mass loss. Overall I rate the product. The only reason it's not 5 stars is because of the mix-ability which may be due to my shaker or the amount of liquid I use and the taste which can be changed for next time. I would recommend this product. Goes Well With:Full fat milk and when put into a pancake mix
I don't usually buy mixes of powder but the convenience of the slow release proteins/normal release, glutamine etc. is really handy. I've noticed an improved recovery rate since I've used this Bedtime Extreme. Mixability and taste could be slightly improved hence only 4 stars.
I just polished off my first 4kg bag of Bedtime Extreme. It's hard to say just how much progress I've made compared to not taking it, as I've had a several year lay-off and a lot of my gains are just returning to where I was previously. That said, I've put on 20 lbs in weight without a noticeable increase in body fat over the last 5 months and I've definitely noticed a substantial decrease in post-exercise soreness. It tastes a whole lot better if you mix it and put back in the fridge for ten minutes before another quick shake and down the hatch! My night time supplement ritual also includes Zinc and Magnesium on an empty stomach, and 10 grams of creatine added to the shake immediately before knocking it back.Goes Well With:Zinc and Magnesium, Creatine.
I bought Bedtime Extreme whilst dieting. I find it fantastic as I have it literally as I fall into bed and when I get up I train without eating and I feel fully fueled for my workout. The taste is fine but the consistency is very powdery but if it works just drink it.
If you are expecting Bedtime Extreme to be smooth and tasty then think again, it's chalky and the strawberry flavour tastes very synthetic. The bonus of this drink though is that it makes you feel very full, so if snacking prior to bedtime is an issue then I would assume this would do the job as well as its normal benefits.
