Branched Chain Amino Acids are essential amino acids which contain a 2:1:1 ratio of Leucine, Isoleucine and Valine. These amino acids are considered to be essential as they cannot be synthesised by the body, so must be consumed from dietary sources.
During exercise amino acids become more important as it is difficult to maintain the desired levels from food alone. With this powder you can reach optimum levels of branch chain amino acids in a quick and easy way.
Amino acids can be consumed throughout the day for or before, during and after workouts.
They're generally consumed by active individuals and are suitable for anyone taking part in intense training or exercise.
5 grams of BCAA's can be consumed 2-4 times daily. You canconsume by mixing with water, or for best results add 2 MP small scoops to your favourite fruit juice or pre/post workout shake.
As a dietary supplement we recommend consuming 5 grams 2 - 4 times daily for optimal results. Best consumed with your preferred amount of water or fruit juice.
Add 2 heaped MP small scoops (5g) to your preferred amount of water or fruit juice and consume immediately.
1 x level MP Plastic Scoop (small) weighs 2.2g. (not included)

I am 30 years old, 12 years lifting experience and 10 years as a PT. I have cut around 5x never with this supplement. Previously I have noticed some muscle and strength loss which I thought was inevitable. This time I thought I would try using branched chain amino acids to prevent catabolism of my muscle tissue which studies have claimed it does. I started with about 15g a day, one upon waking, one pre workout and one during workout. Over the next few weeks this did seem to slow or completely prevent muscle breakdown in a calorie deficit. I read more and more studies suggesting that more BCAAs would enhance the muscle preservation and strength so increased my doseage to 40mg for the last few weeks. Well... Some things happened I did not expect. I have more muscle fullness, INCREASED strength and think that I may have actually gained a slight amount of muscle! It also seems to have accelerated my fat loss and my recovery has been immense considering I am a natural trainer, train 6 days a week, in a calorie deficit with about 6.5 hours sleep a night. I have tried fat burners, test boosters, pre workouts blah blah etc etc but this is now my favorite supplement. A must if you are dieting IMO and want to maintain hard earned muscle.Goes Well With:Everything
Theis is a warning. Always go for a flavoured version and mix it with water. The unflavoured is horrific. It's like chewing fistfuls of aspirin. If you add it to a flavoured shake it removes all the original flavour and makes the whole thing really bitter and gag-inducing.
Sour apple flavour is not as sour as i had hope, it is far to sweet, almost slickly. the apple flavour is there but its meant to be sour apple, that makes your lips smack and pucker, not apple so sweet you can barely drink it. please make it more sour/tarte.
This powder is extremely effective at what it is designed to do, and really helps me to maintain my muscle mass during cutting periods. Having recently just completed a cut, coming down from around 89KG - to 81KG, Branched Chain Amino Acids really helped me to maintain my muscle size, density and strength. Even managed to squeeze more reps out on the 50KG dumbbells! Yes, a lot of my weight was probably water retention, but I lost that and maintained easily with this product. Consuming one serving as soon as I wake up, one before/during my workout, one serving after and one before bed with Casein I find this really aids my recovery. I opted for the unflavoured version as being a student, every saving of money helps and the taste shouldn't bother you, just get it down and quit whinging!
This is a great addition to any nutritional regime, add these essential amino acids to your training programme and increase your progress. In my programme I take two table spoons before training and the same after. There is a method to this, which is to gather a table spoon full from the pouch and put it in your mouth and have a glass of water to hand and take enough water to swallow the powder in one. I would not recommend mixing this with a shake though, just get it down in one, you know you are not buying this for it to taste nice, but just get it down and see results with training.Goes Well With:Whey protein but do not mix it, though add this to your nutritional programme.
I've been using this no fuss, to the point powdered form for a couple of years now. I don't see the point in all those flavoured products or having it in capsules, it is what it is, as powder, shake it with some water and drink it.... I recommend this to anyone. I find this product especially useful as I don't eat meat, so despite all the careful attention to my nutrition it is still hard to hit all my needs in terms of amino intake.
I bought this as my usual brand wasn't available. It is absolutely foul, undrinkable. I have thrown it away.
Recovery is okay but I literally could not get it to mix. Put into my mixer with the metal mixer shook for ages. I then used a fork andspoon but the ppowder just clumped and settled. Taste is vile I could just about stomach it. Don't think I will continue to use this product.
Well I am 37 (getting on) and been trying to be a muscle god for over 20 years failing miserable lol. My main issues have been recovery and fatigue. I have nearly finished my first pack and well I have seen some amazing results. Recovery for is now minor issues as I have been taking this supplement before workout , after and just before sleep. The first set with these amino acids actually gave me a ridiculous buzz (dont know why) then I notice fatigue was no near what I had prevously felt. As alway got a cold and was off for about 8 days. On coming back as always I would have ridiculous chest pains on recovery and again these were practically non existent with branched chain amino acids. Again I had an insane buzz on starting training after drinking the supplement. Th buzz could be a placebo effect but I really do think that My body has probably always needed a boost. Loving training again and would reccomend adding BCAA to your diet even if you a 2 to 3 times gym goer , i am now able to go 6 days a week with no issues on recovery. I am taking IMPACT WHEY Protein Isolate as well twice a day while dieting. ******* The key to mixibility is put in a shaker with around 200 -300 ml shake well, let stand for 2 mins and cloudyness goes and it blends with any liquid.Goes Well With:Whey Impact Isolate, Water , dilute Ribena ( or any other berry cordial :)
Sorry but this stuff tastes absolutely rank and doesn't mix at all well. I bought the non-flavoured stuff and like creatine I just scoop it into my mouth then wash down with water, this is ok for creatine but this stuff sticks in your throat making you gagg. I've since bought the tablet version of this and I'm yet to use them but this powder has to be the worst supplement I've ever tasted. Does it work, who knows !?!?Goes Well With:Anything that will cover the taste !!!
I ve ordered the unflavoured one and it mixes very good with 200 ml water. My muscles recover faster too.The only problem is that the powder smells so bad it reminds me of my dogs food(eww). When mixed with water it doesnt smell at all but when i open the bag it smells awfull.I dont know why noone else mentioned it, i hope my powder is not outdated!
Excellent product excellent effectivness
I always lose muscle with running or cardio but since I have taken this supplement it has solved this issue. I've noticed that I keep my muscle after long runs and my body fat has dropped. It works really well with intermittent fasting and lean diets.
This product scores 10 out 10 on effectiveness, it is a must have. Choose the flavored one as unflavored tastes like hell. IF you can afford a few more pound, go with iBCAA which provides everything this ingredient gives plus tastes really good.
I think a lot of people are giving this a bad review because they're not allowing enough time for the powder to actually mix in. I put 2scoops in a 500ml bottle and fill it up with water, give it a 5mins rest, a quick shake and it tastes like a very diluted squash drink!! I can't say I've noticed a change in my recovery time just yet, but I'll stick at it and see how my results improve. Goes Well With:water
Hey myprotein-users Its a great product, but the taste is not that great (unflavored). The ones with flavor is 100 times better!
Berry Blast tastes amazing. In the first month of adding this to my training/clean eating regime I doubled my gains - I gained 0.7kg of muscle and lost 1.3kg of fat. That statistic speaks for itself - a must buy for someone trying to get lean for summer!Goes Well With:Impact whey protein, Hurricane XS, creatine
Other than the poor mixability the watermelon tastes good
These BCAAs are a perfect way of getting your amino-acids whilst on a cut and even when not. Would definitely recommend to anyone!
Effectiveness - I've used BCAA's from myprotein in the past and am very happy with the results I get from them. I always put in 110% effort on every workout and as a result have formed an intimate relationship with DOMS. Taking BCAAs lessens the duration and intensity of DOMS by a fair amount, making me able to hit that area again sooner - I train everything twice a week. I can't comment on muscle retention during cutting as I haven't had the need to cut yet. Eat right and you can just keep building lean muscle year round. Flavour - Previously I had some tropical flavour, this time I thought I'd live on the edge a little and ordered Blue Raspberry. Don't get me wrong, its perfectly palatable (if a bit too sweet and not at all raspberry flavoured), I just didn't expect it to be so...blue. I feel like I'm drinking a magic potion from World of Warcraft, and a couple of regulars have very helpfully pointed out that ink is for writing with, not drinking. It does go nicely with the lid of my MP shaker though. There's always a silver lining. Goes Well With:Water, MP blue branding, smurfs.
First time trying my proteins bcaa and its epic!! Such a great taste and it mixes very easily! I mix mine with water and creatine! It has such a good effect which is long lasting!
Use this product as part of my fasted regime, have I noticed any benefits? Not sure. Tropical flavour tastes nice, somewhat sweet with a hint of sourness. The only negative is that it does become less mixable and clumpy over time. As such, when mixing with water it leaves ball bearing sized lumps - vigorous shaking does't disperse them... but leaving the water to do its dissolving magic works a treat. Leave for 5 minutes and it's fine.Goes Well With:Water
After reading reviews upon reviews, I decided to get myself some BCAAs. Definitely worth it! Has improved my recovery time greatly, I have more energy and plus makes a great tasting preworkout drink along with my creapure (Tropical). I would definitely recommend to anyone.Goes Well With:Creatine, water, squash
I bought apple flavour as this supplement has a reputation of tasting bitter on it's own. There was an unnecessary amount of green colouring added to the blend, so much in fact it turns my pee green! The quality of the bcaa powder however seems ok. My advice, go unflavoured.
This is definitely a nice product to have on your stack providing the extra bcaa's especially leucine as it turns on your anabolic switch to build muscle. A noticeable amount of gains and recovery I've noticed and also i found that i look leaner.Goes Well With:Water
I tried BCAA's a while back because everybody was suddenly raving about them and I wanted to see what the hype was about. They're pretty cheap so it wasn't much of a risk. When using BCAA's I notice that my recovery times are improved greatly, often shaving a day or even two days off my usual recovery times. I also feel more energetic throughout the day. I believe they contribute towards muscle growth, but I'm not currently taking them as I don't think they're essential for ME. They mix easily with water, often don't even need to stir or shake. The UNFLAVOURED version is cheaper but it tastes foul, sometimes I've gagged while drinking them with just water. Mixing with something like milk, juice or protein shakes hides the taste very well thoughGoes Well With:Milk, juice, Impact Whey, Dextrose
At first i did not like it but after a week of having it im in love with it. It gives my water a refreshing taste and mixes easily in a bottle, however i would recommend packaging it in a bottle? The powder gets all over my hands as im trying to grab the tiny scoop. Goes Well With:Anything - gallon of water with double strength concentrated juice powder.
Mixes reasonably well, best left for a while for the last lumps to dissolve before drinking. And put the water in first or the powder sticks to the corners of the shaker. Blue raspberry tastes good, if a bit sickly sweet. I'm using to maintain muscle while intermittent fasting so I can't comment on its effectiveness yet. Goes Well With:Water, intermittent fasting
This product is amazing, never before have I come across a more hydrophobic powder. I cannot dilute it, it covers my shaker cup in powder but the water remains almost clear. I put it into a blender and I can just about mix it in at minuscule quantities (5g per L ish). I may buy it in the future to waterproof my boots or if I ever build a submarine.Goes Well With:Plastics, metal, concrete... pretty much anything other than water.
These bcaa's are brilliant, I make a drink with this in conjunction with creatine and it bodes well as a brilliant preworkout! I have tried, Tropical, Watermelon and Berry blast. Tropical by far tastes the best so far, it has a very natural kind of taste. Berry blast tastes nice but it also a little weak, its got the flavour, but following guidelines on how much to use, I found the drink to taste very weak Watermelon tastes amazing, but its just too sweet for me, its so sweet that its almost sickly. Overall I am very pleased with this product and i will be buying tropical again and againGoes Well With:Creatine - Unflavoured
Great taste and mixes pretty well. I use it when doing fasted cardio and seem to work well
i found this product very effective when trying touchiest my goals, within a couple of weeks I could notice I was getting bigger. Felt stronger in the gym when lifting too, found myself progressing more than I have done taking normal protein shakes, I would recommend this to anyone who is looking to put mass and size on.Goes Well With:powerade
It's a really good product and had so much support from this company, do appreciate this but I would recommend not to mix it with whey as it tastes alright but it's better to take it by itself that's what I do.Goes Well With:Water or juice
I used to take the tablets of these, which i thought i was going to die a few times, because of how large they are! Now i take the powder, mixing is not a problem and the grape flavour is LUSH. Just like the red fruit polo you used to get NOM
I am using grape flavor at the moment, not bad, but nothing amazing either. I find BCAA important since I train fasted and my work-outs are usually 90-120min. Taking 5g before and 5 during-after my workout. Good stuff. I'll try different flavor next time.Goes Well With:water
Taste is like flat bubblegum Panda pop. Putrid. But really good product.
Very effective, reduced doms after training, flavour wasnt very nice very sweet, had tropical in the past and would opt for that flavour
took an orange taste good taste I like
I have to say I am happy with My Proteins decision to look into new flavours. Little disappointed with the Rasherry Lemonade, it's alright but to sweet for me. The Grape had hit the nail on the head! No doubt my go to MP flavour. Other than doing the job with the proven ration of aminos, Grape tastes amazing
Got the blue berry flavour tastes great and dissolved easy
Great product in helping me achieve my goals.
Thought I'd try the powder version as I was.sick of the BCAA horse tablets and was most pleasantly surprised. Ordered Tropical fruit flavour and found it very easy to mix with water & easy on the pallet too. Appears to work as well, I'm the wrong side of 50, still training hard & since I've been using this product, have had no real aches or pains, I recover fairly quickly & am lifting more than i did 10 years ago! Will deffo re order,
Hated the taste, however the bcaas are very good.
Great taste, really easy to mix. Gives me a boost before work for fasted training.
This taste horrible as it should! But it does the job of protecting your muscles. Best to take it before, after a workout and before you go to bed!
very useful addition to my training regime
Overall I'm happy with!. Taste so what should be the real BCAA, coma do not like the taste, there are different flavors. Diluted with water bad as it must. Recommend!!!
This is a good product but it definitely doesn't stand up to the IBCAA that MyProtein has. It doesn't mix very well but it is just as effective. I had the raspberry lemonade flavour and I have to say it was a huge let down. It's one that I will have to learn to love or force down. The berry blast is much better.
I been using this for the past year or so good stuff easily mixable although I use unflavour with my impact whey protein great source to feed your muscle recovery
I ordered raspberry lemonade flavour and I couldn't find fault! Not a problem with mixing and taste great too!!
