Branched Chain Amino Acids are essential amino acids which contain a 2:1:1 ratio of Leucine, Isoleucine and Valine. These amino acids are considered to be essential as they cannot be synthesised by the body, so must be consumed from dietary sources.
During exercise amino acids become more important as it is difficult to maintain the desired levels from food alone. With this powder you can reach optimum levels of branch chain amino acids in a quick and easy way.
Amino acids can be consumed throughout the day for or before, during and after workouts.

5 grams of BCAA's can be consumed 2-4 times daily. You canconsume by mixing with water, or for best results add 2 MP small scoops to your favourite fruit juice or pre/post workout shake.

I am 30 years old, 12 years lifting experience and 10 years as a PT. I have cut around 5x never with this supplement. Previously I have noticed some muscle and strength loss which I thought was inevitable. This time I thought I would try using branched chain amino acids to prevent catabolism of my muscle tissue which studies have claimed it does. I started with about 15g a day, one upon waking, one pre workout and one during workout. Over the next few weeks this did seem to slow or completely prevent muscle breakdown in a calorie deficit. I read more and more studies suggesting that more BCAAs would enhance the muscle preservation and strength so increased my doseage to 40mg for the last few weeks. Well... Some things happened I did not expect. I have more muscle fullness, INCREASED strength and think that I may have actually gained a slight amount of muscle! It also seems to have accelerated my fat loss and my recovery has been immense considering I am a natural trainer, train 6 days a week, in a calorie deficit with about 6.5 hours sleep a night. I have tried fat burners, test boosters, pre workouts blah blah etc etc but this is now my favorite supplement. A must if you are dieting IMO and want to maintain hard earned muscle.Goes Well With:Everything
Effectiveness - I've used BCAA's from myprotein in the past and am very happy with the results I get from them. I always put in 110% effort on every workout and as a result have formed an intimate relationship with DOMS. Taking BCAAs lessens the duration and intensity of DOMS by a fair amount, making me able to hit that area again sooner - I train everything twice a week. I can't comment on muscle retention during cutting as I haven't had the need to cut yet. Eat right and you can just keep building lean muscle year round. Flavour - Previously I had some tropical flavour, this time I thought I'd live on the edge a little and ordered Blue Raspberry. Don't get me wrong, its perfectly palatable (if a bit too sweet and not at all raspberry flavoured), I just didn't expect it to be so...blue. I feel like I'm drinking a magic potion from World of Warcraft, and a couple of regulars have very helpfully pointed out that ink is for writing with, not drinking. It does go nicely with the lid of my MP shaker though. There's always a silver lining. Goes Well With:Water, MP blue branding, smurfs.
Theis is a warning. Always go for a flavoured version and mix it with water. The unflavoured is horrific. It's like chewing fistfuls of aspirin. If you add it to a flavoured shake it removes all the original flavour and makes the whole thing really bitter and gag-inducing.
This BCAA product is effective, the flavoured version is always much more palatble and easier to mix than unflavoured. However I just purchased watermelon flavour and it is so sickly sweet I would never buy that flavour again. I previously had 'berry blast' flavour and I would definitely recommend that one. I don't understand why My Protein uses all these hideous additives and colourings to make the drink a synthetic 'watermelon' colour. I would much prefer to have a product with the least amount of additives possible especially one for a BCAA - I don't choose to drink it based on how appealing the colour of my drink is.Goes Well With:water
Really enjoying my experiments with BCAA's - seems to be providing exactly the boost I needed for quicker recovery and preservation of muscle mass whilst dropping calories. As a girl I'm not looking to get super swole, just to tone up, lean up and bump up my muscle size without getting bulky. This product has definitely helped me to train harder and longer. I'm seeing really impressive results and increased capacity on heavy weights and reps with a significant reduction in BF% and better definition. I have watermelon flavour which is good but pretty sweet. Mixes relatively easily but needs a lot of shaking.
Well I am 37 (getting on) and been trying to be a muscle god for over 20 years failing miserable lol. My main issues have been recovery and fatigue. I have nearly finished my first pack and well I have seen some amazing results. Recovery for is now minor issues as I have been taking this supplement before workout , after and just before sleep. The first set with these amino acids actually gave me a ridiculous buzz (dont know why) then I notice fatigue was no near what I had prevously felt. As alway got a cold and was off for about 8 days. On coming back as always I would have ridiculous chest pains on recovery and again these were practically non existent with branched chain amino acids. Again I had an insane buzz on starting training after drinking the supplement. Th buzz could be a placebo effect but I really do think that My body has probably always needed a boost. Loving training again and would reccomend adding BCAA to your diet even if you a 2 to 3 times gym goer , i am now able to go 6 days a week with no issues on recovery. I am taking IMPACT WHEY Protein Isolate as well twice a day while dieting. ******* The key to mixibility is put in a shaker with around 200 -300 ml shake well, let stand for 2 mins and cloudyness goes and it blends with any liquid.Goes Well With:Whey Impact Isolate, Water , dilute Ribena ( or any other berry cordial :)
I always lose muscle with running or cardio but since I have taken this supplement it has solved this issue. I've noticed that I keep my muscle after long runs and my body fat has dropped. It works really well with intermittent fasting and lean diets.
I've been using this no fuss, to the point powdered form for a couple of years now. I don't see the point in all those flavoured products or having it in capsules, it is what it is, as powder, shake it with some water and drink it.... I recommend this to anyone. I find this product especially useful as I don't eat meat, so despite all the careful attention to my nutrition it is still hard to hit all my needs in terms of amino intake.
This powder is extremely effective at what it is designed to do, and really helps me to maintain my muscle mass during cutting periods. Having recently just completed a cut, coming down from around 89KG - to 81KG, Branched Chain Amino Acids really helped me to maintain my muscle size, density and strength. Even managed to squeeze more reps out on the 50KG dumbbells! Yes, a lot of my weight was probably water retention, but I lost that and maintained easily with this product. Consuming one serving as soon as I wake up, one before/during my workout, one serving after and one before bed with Casein I find this really aids my recovery. I opted for the unflavoured version as being a student, every saving of money helps and the taste shouldn't bother you, just get it down and quit whinging!
This is a great addition to any nutritional regime, add these essential amino acids to your training programme and increase your progress. In my programme I take two table spoons before training and the same after. There is a method to this, which is to gather a table spoon full from the pouch and put it in your mouth and have a glass of water to hand and take enough water to swallow the powder in one. I would not recommend mixing this with a shake though, just get it down in one, you know you are not buying this for it to taste nice, but just get it down and see results with training.Goes Well With:Whey protein but do not mix it, though add this to your nutritional programme.

Sour apple flavour is not as sour as i had hope, it is far to sweet, almost slickly. the apple flavour is there but its meant to be sour apple, that makes your lips smack and pucker, not apple so sweet you can barely drink it. please make it more sour/tarte.
I like the berry blast flavour but don't ever buy the blue raspberry. I had one sip of this and never wanted to taste it again - worst, more artificial flavour in the world. I threw it away it was so bad. Goes Well With:nothing.
Effective product for taking between meals, pre/intra and or post workout (I have personally have it pre-mixed in a bottle of water to take during my workout) or before bed depending how much Aminos intake you want or need daily. Have noticed I can maintain more lean muscle and strength gains by taking this on a daily basis. As I chose unflavoured it will taste a little on the bitter side but if you mix it with water in a mixer shaker or in a bottle and give it a good shake it blends into the water and you can't really taste the bitterness any more. I'd suggest taking it purely with water and not mixed with your protein shakes etc as it will get to your muscles and blood stream quicker. Good value for money also - give it a try you will not be disappointed :) as long as your diet and protein, carb and caloric intake is on track it will be the icing on the cake for your progress.Goes Well With:Water

I purchased a 250g bag of the blue raspberry flavor and tried it out once and completely fell in love with it and purchased another kilo. the flavor is amazing! just make sure you dont add too much powder otherwise it becomes very sickly. it looks cool because it is literally bright blue! the overall effectiveness is amazing too. a very good product all together.Goes Well With:water

Ok.....this product isn't cheap gramme for gramme....however, I find cheap = waste of money! time & effort. So...considering the muscle fullness I'm feeling on 20g a day: 5 on waking 10 pre workout & 5 during workout, I am happy with his product. Flavour is naff as is the unnecessary nasty colouring which stains your skin etc...(don't get powder on wet hands!) (lemon & lime). Mixability is excellent. bought the grape flavor bcaa, and the taste is absolutely amazing. I enjoy drinking it as a juice during my workouts and in the mornings as well. I have been adding 10g of BCAA and 5g of Creatine to my Morning, Pre Workout and Post Workout Protein Shakes. The results have been very noticeable. Energy levels and Strength have gone up and my Fat Levels are going down. The addition of the BCAA is the only change to my diet and routine that i have made in the last 6 weeks. I ve ordered the unflavoured one and it mixes very good with 200 ml water.My muscles recover faster too.The only problem is that the powder smells so bad it reminds me of my dogs food(eww).When mixed with water it doesnt smell at all but when i open the bag it smells awfull.I dont know why noone else mentioned it, i hope my powder is not outdated!

Recovery is okay but I literally could not get it to mix. Put into my mixer with the metal mixer shook for ages. I then used a fork andspoon but the ppowder just clumped and settled. Taste is vile I could just about stomach it. Don't think I will continue to use this product.
This product scores 10 out 10 on effectiveness, it is a must have. Choose the flavored one as unflavored tastes like hell. IF you can afford a few more pound, go with iBCAA which provides everything this ingredient gives plus tastes really good.
I think a lot of people are giving this a bad review because they're not allowing enough time for the powder to actually mix in. I put 2scoops in a 500ml bottle and fill it up with water, give it a 5mins rest, a quick shake and it tastes like a very diluted squash drink!! I can't say I've noticed a change in my recovery time just yet, but I'll stick at it and see how my results improve. Goes Well With:water

This makes me feel sick, and feel since switching to this one I feel very dehydrated during workouts.
I have almost finished my first batch of BCAA, and have just ordered another. I terms of training I have made noticble lean gains, and have found them particularly useful for use during intermittent fasting. I bought the unflavoured variety, and yes it is a little bitter on its own but not to the point where it's undrinkable. Mixed with Impact Whey and Flavdrops I didn't notice an adverse effect on taste. On its own with water you need to give a pretty vigorous shake to get it mixed up, but in with you normal pre or post workout shake no problems. Overall an excellent supplement with good results. Goes Well With:Water, Impact whey.
This powder form will not mix well with a tumbler, as the resulting mix is just some bubbly stuff floating on top of the liquid. The only way that's worked for me is to mix this with a blender. The good thing is the taste - not over-powering or sweet. I recommend the Orange flavour.Goes Well With:Smoothie, sports drink
Only writing this to highlight people of this 1 flavour but still rate my protein as a fantastic supplement supplier. The blue raspberry bcaa is unbelievably sweet .. Even with just 5g mixed into 1 litre of water. Tried everything to mask the sweetness ie, leucine, creatine (which have sourness about them unflavoured) but no avail. The other downside is to this is that I like to train with 20 - 25g of bcaa.. So you can imagine what the first few gulps are like. On the grand scale of things if I've bought a new flavour and don't take to it I normally persevere till it's finished, alas with this product I can't. Once again no slur against the company , just think on this occasion they got the flavour wrong or I got a bad batch!

I purchased both Watermelon and Raspberry Lemonade. They definitely make a difference to my workout and recovery, when mixing I get a strange lumpy foam on the top, but I've got used to that now. The Watermelon is much more palatable than the Raspberry Lemonade, i think its just too sweet for me
Good taste. At first it seems it won`t mix, but a little stiring helped.
I got the berry blast flavour and to be honest I don't like it a great deal. Flavour is personal though, so some might like it, but it has a funny after taste and is not good unless refrigerated first. I'll finish the bag off though otherwise it's a waste of money. Mixes ok with water, I've not tried it with anything else.
In the past ive taken different bcaa's from other, more expensive brands and after getting some from myprotein, i will never go back. The blue rasberry tastes amazing and i love drinking it whilst doing my resistance training or when i go cycling. It's just that tiny bit too sweet for me in watermelon, but other than that it tastes great. It mixes well and quickly with barely any effort required. I have noticed results with muscle growth coming easier than beforehand. All round great product would recommend
Having read the reviews I thought I would try this product as a beginner in weight training. I have read in the reviews people have had issues with mixability, i have not found this. When using a sensible amount of cold water and the correct amount of powder this mixes just fine. I bought berry blast after others raved about it and it just tasted like blackcurrent which is perfect for me! As for Effectiveness, I do not feel aches and pains after training now like I used too. I also feel I am building muscle quicker however do to everything else I am doing at the moment I cannot comment weather this is this or something else. I would recommend.Goes Well With:Water

I purchased the Sour Apple flavour one.At first taste, i couldn't compare it to any kind of apple taste and it was horrible, but later on i got used to it and already used a kilo of it.I used it before and after training , and sometimes when i had to skip a meal for some reason.What i can tell, it really helped me to recover faster between sets and after training and also helped me on cutting.I'm gonna try the orange flavour next time, hope it's gonna be a better taste.Goes Well With:water + creatine

After using this product for 5 weeks the biggest thing I noticed is the reduction in DOMS. The Tropical flavour, although a bit sweet, mixes really well with water and after a couple of minutes settles to a nice liquid without a froth on the top. The Berry Blast however has a slightly paracetamol type taste. I take 10g 30 mins before workout and 10g immediately after. I can't really comment on the workout effects as I started this at the same time as a new routine. 5* for Tropical and 4* for Berry Blast (due to taste) Goes Well With:Tropical with water Berry Blast with juice

This is good if you are doing lots of intense exercise throughout the week. It speeds up my recovery time and I am able to burn 700 calories at the gym 6 days a week. I would advise others to get a flavoured version as the unflavoured tastes horrible even with plenty of squash. Make sure you mix it for at least 30 seconds because it takes a while to absorb into your drink.Goes Well With:Large glass of squash
I've been using this the past few months to try to combat muscle breakdown whilst cutting. I've been losing weight and body fat % steadily but my strength has not decreased, so I believe the BCAAs are helping a lot here. The unflavoured version is quite unpleasant when taken with just water, but mixing it with Impact Whey and other supplements masks the taste. The Blue Raspberry tastes great with water (more like flat bubblegum soda flavour), but can be a bit sickly when mixed with unflavoured Impact Whey. Be precise with the doses, as I made the mistake of having too much at a time (10g was too much for me) which resulted in some upset stomachs and colorful excrement. 5-6g is the ideal amount for me at 180lbs. Overall a good supplement to help preserve muscle whilst cutting. I've also used in whilst bulking up in the past but I think that was unnecessary, though it can't hurt for the price. Do not buy the sour apple flavour, after unflavoured casein hydrolysate this is the worst tasting flavour I have ever encounted. While cheaper than other competitors this is not worth while, taste is 0/10, mixability 2/10 and thus effectiveness 0/10 because it tastes so bad you don't want to take it. Buy bulk powders IBCAAs. The flavour is artificial and makes you feel ill. I'm surprised myprotein allowed this past their taste tests. Goes Well With:Not drinking at all.
Taste wise, the blueberry flavour, in my opinion, is way too sweet. It's like I'm drinking sugar and the bright blue colouring doesn't help, all very artificial. Also, tastes nothing like blueberries. I prefer the orange flavour, it's more subtle and like orange squash.
