Tastes good, decent value, but mixability is bad. Large lumps remain floating in the shaker.
I've been using this for well over a year now and found the best way to drink this is by using a blender and using milk. By doing this is tastes a quite good. However, I'm constantly working and don't have time to grab a blender or carry milk to work. Using water and just a protein shaker does not mix properly. No matter how much water or how long i shake for, there are always clumps. There's also grains left at the bottom regardless of whether milk or water is used. Using a blender makes no difference. Despite the flaws, I have stuck to this product mainly because it does do the job. It just takes some time to get used to.Goes Well With:Milk
Lot of people complaining about the mixability of this product and having large globs....it's called a shaker bottle for a reason....shake it!!! And dont scrimp on the liquid, this stuff is thick, but doesn't sit on you or make you gag, I can still eat a meal within 45 minutes of having this straigh after the gym. I love the taste of the cookies & cream and this really helps up the calorie intake whilst keeping the diet clean. Great product for great gains.Goes Well With:BCAA's
very good product, it does its job. The only but thing about it is its hard mixabilityGoes Well With:creatine monohydrate bcaa
Good vale good taste works well after 3 weeks im well on my way. Best mixwd in a blender as can be lumpy but as it tastes good its no issue. Would buy again.would recomed.
excellent service and delivery, the product tastes great, and is value for money. the only gripe i have is it doesnt mix as well as the egg white protien i normally buy. but iam not complaining, just drink it.

The taste is fine, but the mixability is poor. Every time I am left with a lot of chunks which are difficult to swallow. Haven't had this product for long so can't comment on its effectiveness.Goes Well With:Creatine Monohydrate
Total Gainer tastes nice, feels like it fills you up and it is effictive for muscle gain. One complaint it isn't as mixable as over products.
havent had for long but with the MP shaker it doesnt mix very well at all. loads of big clumps. taste okay though and seems to help repair well so far.Goes Well With:water

This is my second purchase and I'm really starting to see results after a month and a half - my chest size is increasing, I'm starting to get definition in the arms and I've put on a stone in weight! I recommend this product to anyone looking to gain weight and see gradual results. Goes Well With:Peanut Buutter
Been purchasing this mix for over a year now and never had any complaints. Always found it to taste great and mixes well. I mix mine with water (milk can get expensive!!) and it doesn't form many lumps. Have put on a good amount of muscular weight since using it - I take one a day, but sometimes miss a day, but still with the results I want. I can certainly tell I can go further in the gym. Would highly recommend. Cannot fault this product! PS. Service from MyProtein was top notch as always. Standard delivery arrived next day!!!
This is the first weight gain formula I have used. I weigh around 10 stone, my aim was to put on another stone. Month 1: 1 scoop twice a day, once just before the gym, the other in the evening. I didnt notice a huge difference. I had a little more energy at the gym but that was about it, maybe an extra pound at most. Month 2: Started mixing 1 scoop of total gainer and 1 scoop of oats, within around 2 weeks I put on about 4lbs. Still another 2 weeks to go but its definitely going in the right direction. Im lifting heavier weights and more of them. It definitely gives me more energy in the gym and is adding the weight. Im not sure I could deal with 2x 3 scoops a day as it suggests but if I did I reckon I would be a right fat ....... within a week :-P Taste is nice - vanilla. Mixability is pretty poor but if you squish it around the glass and then mix it it mixes ok.Goes Well With:Oats & milk.
I buy this as a part of bulk up bundle.Mixability is poor, it allways have lumbs(i mix it with milk and water).I use it as post-workout and mix it with some oat flour which gives amazing taste. All in all is an effective product even i have not use it for long period of time.Goes Well With:water, milk, creatine, taurine, oat flour
OK product but tastes vile and mixes like wallpaper paste. Slimy consistency. As for results, no difference to any other protein shake that I can see - disappointing - I'll be back to Hurricane, far better taste and mixing.Goes Well With:nothing -
(Total gainer) Product arrived within 2 days of ordering, tastes great, and can already see the difference after 2 weeks of usage! Would highly recommend to any body looking for size gains. I am currently using the whey impact for morning and snack and the total gainer for post-workout. Can't wait to try out the different flavours but the cookies and cream is currently my favourite.Goes Well With:Impact whey
First time I've tried this product, went for strawberry flavour and have a very hard time mixing it using both myprotein shakers. Lots of lumps with both milk and water. Tastes fine, more of a strawberry smoothie than a shake that I'm used to. Will be trying all flavours though.Goes Well With:Milk

This product does not mix very well. Every time I have clumps of none dissolved protein floating about in my shake. Wouldn't buy again.Goes Well With:The bin
Good nutritional content (and rare to find a weight gainer with no creatine - I like to choose when to add this into my supplements myself) and not a bad tasting one either. I went for cookies and cream and thought it tasted fine. I quite often have a problem when using a coil shaker though which results in a large lump of product getting caught inside the coil. Don't know if this is just happening to me but it's a bit of a nuisance. All in all though not a bad product.
It has everything you want and does what is says, the product is so awkward. I have found it near impossible to train on days I consume this product. Maybe this is just the banana flavour but the sickly flavour stays with me all day along with a huge bloated stomach. I can feel it sitting on me. Ive tried mixing with water, milk and half and half and still its difficult. Won't mix without a blender either so you might need a spoon. I wouldn't recommend, this product you are better off sticking to whey and adding oats. Goes Well With:a strong stomach
I'm only 16 and needed something just like this. Tastes great, Noticed a difference in weight and muscle gain. Brilliant! A blender may be useful because it isn't perfect for mixing but other than that it is worth the moneyGoes Well With:Water
Been taking it for about 2 weeks and im beginning to see a change in my arms they getting bigger Goes Well With:Semi skimmed milk
I've bought this product about a week and a half ago, so I can't say much about any gains or changes in muscle size but I can comment that I have improved my lifts ,for example my dumbbell bench press has increased 5kg. Moving on to taste, I got banana as part as the bulk up bundle, and have to say it's ok at best with water and is slightly better with milk and the mix-ability is bad, it gets very lumpy when shaking so I have to sieve it to make it less lumpy
Really impressed with this supplement. Requmend this to anyone wanting I bulk upGoes Well With:Milk
I've been buying the vanilla for just under three months now and so can feedback with some authority. I drink one 500ml mix of three scoops, one just under half semi skimmed milk and the rest water. It mixes fine in the Myprotein blender bottle. Sometimes I add a little milk or water at the end to mix the remaining powder caught in the wire blending ball. I go for the vanilla and it tastes good, no complaints there. As a protein supplement to my gym routine, I have gained 7lbs in weight, muscle in that three month period. I was a little concerned at first that I might put on weight in fat, but I haven't. I'm impressed enough to keep using a Total Gainer.Goes Well With:Just under half semi skimmed milk, the remainder water.
Fantastic, it seems to be the only shake I actual gain muscle on, and lean muscle to. I rate it highly, use it as a protein top up and after the gym.
Recently bought cookies and cream flavour, quite subtle but just enough, also very good nutritional values but the only problem i find is alot more milk is needed than the recomended amount on the instructions because of how lumpy it can be. My advice, buy the 'total protein' and 'instant oats' and mix them together
I'm very satisfied with this product as this is the only gainer I tried which, after a month, brought some progress. Therefore, I have no doubt in quality of this product ingredients. Mixability and taste might be a problem. First pouch I tried was Cookies and Cream. Didn't like the taste and mixability was really poor. You won't be able to get a smooth shake using a standard shaker. Second pouch which I'm currently taking is Milk Chocolate. Taste is much better and mixability is improved. Otherwise I have no problem recommending this product as I'm convinced that with solid workout program it will give you good lean muscle gains.Goes Well With:Creatine Monohydrate (Creapure®) and Super Omega 3
Have used my protein many times before. Fast delivery and great affordable product. Product mixes well and tastes good, have been using for just over a week now will keep you posted on results.
Good product to gain weight but the down side is no matter how you shake or blend it still is lumpy.Goes Well With:Milk
I bought this as part of a bundle. The only quibble I have is that one couldn't choose the flavour that came with the bundle; you were stuck with banana, which is not my favourite. But as banana powders go, this one isn't bad, and you're really savouring it for the taste, are you? It goes down just fine with no chunks or lumps to speak of. Only been using it about three weeks now, but as far as i can tell, it also works pretty well: gained about a pound or two.Goes Well With:oat flower and creatine in the shake.
Good tasty shake, perfect for after a session. Working well so far!
Very good product. It's a quick, yet great way of getting a high amount of protein and calories into your body straight after the gym. I would recommend this to all.Goes Well With:Creatine.
I was wary about buying this at first. I wanted something that was high in protein but would help me gain a few pounds to compliment the weight training. In a little under a month I've already put on a couple of pounds, no less than I would expect st this early stage. I chose the vanilla and I've no regrets there either. When mixed with two thirds water, one third semi skimmed milk, it tastes very nice, thick enough but not too thick. It mixes okay, sometimes I top it up when it's near the bottom to dissolve the remainng powder. I could use a blender, and I'm sure it would be smoother but it's just not worth the bother. I find it stops me needing to eat breakfast until an hour or so after exercise. The bag mentions 2 or 3 a day, but I stick to the one in place of breakfast first thing.
Great product, I use it as my only protein shake and meal replacement now. I was on Whey protein from 'My Protein' for many months, which offered great recovery and what my body needed after the gym, but I didn't see much gain in muscle, even though I workout 3 times a week. Since switching to this product, within weeks I have gained a few kg's in muscle, and haven't changed my routine, finally I can see the efforts from my workouts. I see people reviewing this product and have said it is lumpy, but at the end of the day, it works..well it does for me and if you want it lump free, there are many ways around that...either mix with more water/milk, which I do, infact I have found if you add the liquid first, and shake it well in the container, its smooth, and there is always a hand blender. I use two full scoops in each serve.
Mass gainer has by far been the best product I have purchased from Myprotein so far. It's effective with 35g of protein per shake and a quick way of pumping the calories back in after a big workout. If you're looking for a winter bulk this is the supplement to get, along with Milk whey protein which is great to have before bed, instant oats and taurine for pre workout and creatine monohydrate. Two shakes a day of Mass gainer you will almost immediately (2 weeks) notice gains, and by 6 weeks you will have noticed a huge gain.Goes Well With:Milk whey protein Taurine Creatine monohydrate Instant oats
I've ordered the bulk up bundle a couple of times and this comes as part of the package. The first one I received was the unflavored version in which I have to say was really nice it had a cold porridge taste (sounds disgusting) but I really enjoyed it. Mixed very well with milk would recommend. Second time I ordered I was sent the banana flavor, smells lovely but apart from that its not the greatest to be fair. Doesn't mix well at all even with 500ml of fluid its very lumpy the taste is ok but I prefer the non flavored option. Goes Well With:milk
Overall a very good product. Easy to mix with milk or water and tastes great either way. Total gainer works great for bulking and will get you to your goals easily.Goes Well With:Milk and Water
I've been using this Total Gainer for 2 weeks and noticing good gains, but it doesn't mix well in the shaker and is a bit tasteless. It does however mix well with a blender and it's very nice Would recommend this to anyone looking for a high calorie shake!Goes Well With:An electric blender.
Both the strawberry and Vanilla Total Gainer taste amazing for a protein shake (especially strawberry), however, when using a shaker they do tend to have large lumps in! I've used the gainer for 2-3 months from the start and the changes in my muscle mass and lifting ability is tremendous!Goes Well With:Milk
I went on the heavy weights 3 times a week and had two Total Gainer drinks a day - one with breakfast and one straight after the gym before dinner. I did this over two months and put on pretty much a stone in muscle. I was amazed at the results. It's great stuff!

I've now tried cookies and cream and banana flavours of Total Gainer, both of which taste very nice. Substantial mass gains noticed after a couple weeks of use. It has some big lumps left in if mixed with a shaker, use a blender for a perfect mix.

I bought two packets of these Total Gainer, I've gone through one packet and along with eating 4-6 meals a day have put on 5kg and I'm nearing my goal. You don't need a blender for this, you just need the shaker with the steel ball inside it. A few tiny lumps never hurt anyone, they are nothing to cry over. I bought cookies and cream flavour and it takes some getting used to but after a few days I can get it down without a problem, I would definitely recommend and will be buying again once I am through with the second packet.Goes Well With:water
This Total Gainer is the first protein product I have bought from Myprotein in years. I really like the taste and it seems effective for me, I use it as a post workout powder. However my only concern is the mixability, it can be lumpy if it is not blended with an electric blender.Goes Well With:Creatine and glutamine peptides
Overall I was very happy with my purchase. The flavour of Total Gainer tastes great, but only mixes well in a blender. I will be purchasing the same product this coming week as I have flew through my last purchase. Also to add, I thought the delivery options were very professional and it was a great first experience for using Myprotein. Goes Well With:Whole Milk mixed in a blender
I was really impressed with the delivery service on my Total Gainer, however in a shaker it doesn't seem to dissolve well.
I've been using this Total Gainer for over 6 months now and it's great, this is by far the best gainer I have used. I'm not sure what all the fuss about the mixability is, I just put it in my shaker and it 's fine, you do get a few small lumps but nothing to cry about. The flavour is also really good, I tend to go for banana flavour with milk and it tastes great. Goes Well With:Milk
I'm very unhappy with this Total Gainer. It's very lumpy, despite several minutes shaking the mix in the shaker bottle. It says you can use the shaker but unless you like lumps it is impossible to make it lump free or even close to lump free using the shaker!
Definitely better than gainer extreme, I used extreme gainer for 2 months and put no weight on at all, 2 weeks of using total gainer i put on 3 pounds. Best mixed with blender, choc tastes great Goes Well With:Recovery evo, creapure, night time extreme
Not great! Mixability is very poor when trying to mix in shaker. When looking at protein/carb content, it is that much better than mixing whey protien and carbs.
The overall product Impact Whey Protein is good for weight gain however, the flavor is banana but it does not taste of banana so I had to start blending it with milk and actual bananas due to the taste. Goes Well With:Blending it with milk and actual bananas as a smoothie
Total Gainer is a great product, with a good choice of flavours. It could mix slightly better, but it's not bad for a gainer. I've only been taking it for a week but my muscles are feeling fuller already.Goes Well With:Creatine
Total Gainer has the worst mixability I have ever experienced in a shake before! There's big lumps, and I have to wait until I get home every time to put in the blender.
I believe Total Gainer is the best out of all the weight gainers.
I've been struggling to maintain my weight since training and although I was getting stronger I wasn't really getting any good size increases. The Total Gainer had all the stuff I needed in terms of complete recovery and it doesn't mix bad at all. If you have a blender it's no problem, if you have a shaker cup than add little increments of water and mix it up with a fork to ensure there are no lumps. The taste could be slightly better but than again it's not about the taste is it... Since using this product I have found my muscle mass increase and my nutritional goal are better met. Thanks MyProtein!Goes Well With:Water and milk, would love to add some banana or yoghurt!
This is terrible, it doesnt taste good, its too thick, it doesnt mix well. It does not mix at all. It is lumpy and disgusting.
Hard to mix, would recommend using a blender or simply increase water amount and shake well Goes Well With:Water
Total Gainer has a really great taste. I haven't been using it long enough to see any substantial benefits but it's a great product. It's surprisingly better with water rather than milk.
Total Gainer has a fantastic taste and does what it says on the tin. It's not a bad price either if comparing to other brands. Sometimes small lumps form when mixing but I think that comes from the powder being compact, it needs a bit of separation before adding milk or water.Goes Well With:Milk - always have it with milk for added calories.
Total Gainer is a good product! However, I have a whisk ball with my shaker and the lumps still stay, which is pretty irritating.Goes Well With:Milk, water
Total Gainer is sometimes a little lumpy but great tasting, especially the mint chocolate flavour. I would definitely recommend.Goes Well With:Best tasting with milk
Total gainer vanilla needs a bit more flavor can only really taste oats. A blender is a must with this product but all in all it does do what its ment to.Goes Well With:A blender
Total Gainer tastes great (milk choco), it needs a good shake to get rid of a few cheeky lumps but overall good product. Only been using it for 2 weeks so far, first thing in in the morning and after workout, and have seen no obvious differences in my weight. However it's early days. Goes Well With:Milk, water
Total Gainer is a great product. You definitely need a blender for this whey, a shaker would be no way efficient. All-in-all it's a top gainer that ticks all the boxes in my book.Goes Well With:A blender
Very tasty protein which has helped me bulk up in size. I will definitely be buying this product again. It mixes well as well.
Total Gainer is a very good product. I have been using it for 2 weeks now and already see the gain. This is very much recommended.
Ordered Total Gainer in Strawberry flavour so that I could potentially mix it with my strawberry protein if needed and so far it seems ok. Mixability is a bit poor. After attempting to use my hand mixer to blend, it wasn't working too well as the whole batch of powder started spinning like cement so I used a normal blender and after that it's been a breeze to work with! It is very thick though once mixed and once I've put two 50g scoops into my blender I do have to blitz it with a lot more liquid - be it milk or water, in order to get the consistency I like. Taste is nice. It's also nice knowing that you're getting some protein in there by default too, as well as some other important ingredients/carbs. It may also be worth noting that I do have quite a sweet tooth, so this drink on its own isn't quite as sweet as I normally like, so I tend to mix it with a sweetener such as Fructose or Dextrose to help sweeten it up if necessary.Goes Well With:Protein powders, Tri-Mixture, BCAAs, Fructose, Dextrose and anything sweet.
Don't waste your time buying the expensive brands, Total Gainer does exactly the same thing. I just wish I had discovered this product sooner after wasting thousands of pounds on other brands over the the past 10 years. This stuff is great value for money, also keep your eyes open on Myprotein.com as they always have some sort of discount or offers going on.Goes Well With:hard work
This stuff is amazing only been using it a week and its starting to pay off!.Goes Well With:water or milk goes with either.
Started using this product and the results are pretty good gaining around 2lbs a week(gym 4times a week) keep in mind I've only recently started training, having 3 scoops 3 times a day did make me bloated but was solved by reducing to 2 scoops 2 times a day and 3work out days, the mixability is pretty bad but not worst I have had does leave some large clumps every know and again, only tried the choc mint and cookie but have to say they both taste great overal 4/5.
Total Gainer is absolutely fantastic. I have had my fair share of shakes over the years. I'd been passed to one brand after another by health professionals to mates and nothing compares! This stuff is absolutely amazing! As corny as it sounds I am still absolutely amazed every time I make a shake! I read the reviews before ordering and from what I read a lot of people are concerned with its mixability and from previous powders I have noticed it is indeed a little tougher to mix but with a blender or even a whisk it mixes fine and I put it down to this one just having more of the good stuff and not just over priced flavoured dust like so many of the other brands. I had only to have four days worth before I noticed its effects surprisingly it increased my diet. I had been on a dire weight loss streak (not intentional) and having an extremely demanding workout I just did not have the calories and could not complete my workouts. Having a busy life I don't have the time to constantly try and eat meals outside of normal meal times... So this combined with meals has boosted my energy and although I've not put on enough weight to effectively say its the powder, I have certainly been more active and hungrier, so much hungrier! The flavour is astounding... I have never known a shake to taste so delicious! Some may find it a little too sweet although I'm a way away from getting sick of it yet. I suggest any of you men whom like me find it virtually impossible to gain weight. You seriously need to give it a shot. And for this price... why not?!Goes Well With:Milk! Blender or whisk...
Total Gainer is a great product, mixes well and tastes nice. The only things is on the bag it comes in, the seal only last a few times of being closed and opened before it breaks. Apart from that good all round.
Total Gainer has a lovely taste, mixes well and is very effective. I put on 2 lbs in a week. It's very good for beginners or those who want to put on weight/muscle. Goes Well With:Milk
This Total Gainer is a great way to get extra calories in during busy working hours when you can't have a proper meal. Doesn't mix too well but for the price and result who cares!
I bought this Total Gainer a few weeks ago, and have only just now tried it. The smell is OK, it smells better than other protein shakes. The taste is OK. It is more than drinkable, but the mix-ability is bad. I added the required amount to the required amount of water at separate intervals, and I still ended up with lumps of powder in the shake.
MyProtein Total Gainer is a very good product in my opinion. Mixing is not impressive but it helps to know that the main reason for taking the product is to gain a healthy weight, and Total Gainer helps you to achieve that. It requires consistency to work, but it works! Goes Well With:Milk
I've used Total Gainer before but was mixing with milk and it just doesn't all fit in my shaker. It works best if mixed using a blender because of its thickness, however taste wise, with either milk or water, this stuff is great!
I have been using Hard Gain Extreme but decided to try this Total Gainer. I haven't been using it long so it's hard to comment. The only downside I would say at this stage is that it doesn't seem to mix well with milk. Also, I find I need to remember to fill my mixing jug with water or wash it straight away otherwise the remaining mixture dries and forms a suitable replacement for cement. Other than that, I am pleased with the product so far.
I bought Total Gainer seeking a pre-workout shake that will boost my energy, as I was finding I'd start getting very fatigued after about 40 minutes of training, and I'm not one who likes to use caffeine-based products and all those other weird and wonderful products. I just want carbs and calories. This product has transformed my training and I can easily workout for at least an hour and a half, without suffering fatigue and muscle aches. The effect was instantly noticeable and I even set my best bench press during the session after my first shake (even I was shocked at its effect). This product is great for anybody, like me, who doesn't want to eat a ton of food before working out. Although the shake is a weight gainer, if you supplement it properly you will not gain weight (fat). For example I only have one before I work out, then have a regular low carb whey protein after, then get the rest of my protein from food when out of the gym. I have not gained weight (fat) at all, but I have definitely seen a great increase in mass and bulk after about a month of using it. I can't wait to see what the results will be in the future. I terms of mixability it isn't bad at all, as long as you don't mind getting a hand blender. I mix it with a shaker for about 20 seconds then take the top off and put the hand blender in for about 20 seconds and it is the smoothest shake I have ever drank. I have the Cookies and Cream shake, it tastes fantastic. It's sweet, smooth and tastes like vanilla. The shake has never upset my stomach. Each shake contains over 30g of protein, which is great value for money per shake. If you're wanting to gain mass, get healthy and easy energy pre-workout, then I highly recommend this product. Do not be put off by the product being a 'weight gainer' because if you use it properly then you can use it for whatever function you want. Whether you're wanting to gain weight in general or gain mass and size, then this product is for you. I will be using this product for a long time.Goes Well With:A low carb, post-workout whey protein shake and a good diet.
I've been taking this Total Gainer for 5 weeks now and have put on 4 1/2 kgs. I am most definitely a hard gainer, but over the past few weeks along with regular meals I have been able to put on weight easier than I could have ever imagined. Hopefully my skinny figure is long gone and from now on I can start bulking up. I will definitely be purchasing another bag! This gives the best results in mixing: add milk 500ml of milk to shaker first, then add 2/3 scoops. Shake like mad and you're ready. I started a creatine cycle which has also helped! Goes Well With:Creatine
As an ectomorph, and a teenager, I usually struggle to put on any form of size easily. This product is definitely worth having if you want to gain mass, it is an easy and effective way to get extra calories into your diet healthily. The strawberry tastes nice, not too sweet as most shakes are, meaning that you are more keen to drink it rather than avoiding it as you do with some badly flavoured shakes which make you feel sick when and after drinking. I have been trying many different gainer formulas over the past year and I have to say this genuinely, this is the one which has made the most satisfied, so much so that I have purchased another bag after a week of use. The only issue which I have found is that it is not as easily mixable as some other shakes, there are a few lumps per shake, however I do not have the most state of the art shaker! All in all, this product is exactly what it says it is and is definately worth your money.Goes Well With:Milk + Creatine Monohydrate.
The taste and mixability of this Total Gainer have let this product down. I have seen the effects taking shape but to mix the shake, a blender is probably your safest option. I wouldn't recommend the strawberry flavour as it's too sweet!
Mixability of this Total Gainer is terrible. You cannot mix it in a shaker with 500ml of liquid whether it be milk or water. This is a massive inconvenience to me as I usually pack my shakes in my bag to go to gym after work. The Vanilla flavour also lets the product down. It is far too sweet, and it does not taste anything like vanilla (I thought it would taste like MP's Vanilla impact whey but it doesn't). I have put on 0.5kg in a 1 week period, but will need to wait for further results to be impressed with Total Gainer. I won't be buying this product again.Goes Well With:Blender
Total Gainer is one of the best tasting mass gainers I've tasted. It's packed full of extra carbs for hard gainers. This will be playing a new part in my daily diet.
The mixability of this Total Gainer is poor. You have to put 700ml of water so it mixes to a decent standard, but even that still leaves bits in the shaker, meaning that you lose some of the powder. It tastes fine though, however I haven't been able to see any major gains. It only lasts 2/3 weeks.Goes Well With:Creatine Monohydrate
Overall, Total Gainer is a very good product. The mixability isn't the best but is still good. Does exactly what is says on the tin which is all I care about.
This Total Gainer is a brilliant product, literally the only ingredient that is missing is creatine, which can be added. I purchased cookies and cream flavour, and wow it does taste lovely! Great product with its amino acid profile and additional MCTs, I stack this with a little scoop of MCT powder and a healthy serving of EAA's.Goes Well With:MCT powder EAA's
I've used Total Gainer about 10 times so I have good experience with the product. I usually buy cookies and cream or chocolate smooth/mint. All of those flavours have tasted great mixed with water or milk. I have even used it to make some high protein/calorie recipes and it has worked pretty well. Cookies and cream is my personal favourite and is the best tasting protein shake I have used. The only downside to this would be the mixability. It can be a little lumpy, especially with milk. However this is not a major issue to be honest. It tastes great, and when I get lumps in the cookies and cream flavour it is just like little lumps of cookie dough! In terms of effectiveness, it will be really helpful if you don't have time for a cooked meal. I don't really track my weight but I do track strength, and when using this on a daily basis along with a high protein whole food diet, I have seen considerable strength gains. I have also seen minimal fat gain when using this (weight gainers often get a bad rep). This isn't a substitute for a good diet and training program however. The effectiveness really comes down to how good your diet and training is to begin with, not a supplement.Goes Well With:Water, Milk and Creatine.
Total Gainer has a great taste. It mixes in 30 seconds in a blender, this is a great product.
Been using this Total Gainer for a while, Cookies and Cream flavour, it's great. You do need to blend it, but when you do, it tastes great! I admit the first time I tried it I thought I made a horrible mistake, but it grew on me quickly and now I enjoy taking it in between meals. Can't say about effectiveness but I've been able to maintain my weight using this twice a day while at university, and with no stomach problems either for the most part!
This Total Gainer is an amazing step up flavour-wise from the pea-based protein I had been using before. It's sometimes a bit difficult to mix, and can leave some thick residue on the shaker, and sometimes doesn't break up too well in the shaker. Otherwise, the flavour is great with milk or water, and hopefully soon I'll start seeing the intended results!
Total Gainer is great as it contains enough protein for a post workout shake and has plenty or rich carbs too. It's easily mixed and also tastes great!
First of all I would like to say that taste/flavour is not the priority when purchasing supplements. I ordered the cookies and cream flavour of Total Gainer, and it honestly is one of the tastiest protein shakes I have ever tasted! I have only mixed using a blender so far, so I am unable to comment on the mixability through shaking, but I always blend an hour or so before consumption anyway and then give it a thorough shake. I only do weights twice a week and attend Thai boxing and BJJ classes, and I need a good quality shake with the right balance of ingredients to recover and grow. I stack this product with essential amino acids and medium chain triglyicerides to increase the amino acid profile for recovery and fatty acid intake to maintain and build lean muscle. If you are unsure as to whether this product is right for you I can assure you it has one the best all round nutritional profiles of MyProtein's products. Goes Well With:MCT Powder, EAA's Powder
I'm loving the effects of this Total Gainer already. I gained a stone through eating right and using this product. I recommend it to anyone who's looking to gain weight in a healthy way.Goes Well With:Pasta, Eggs, White meat, Dark meat.
This Total Gainer is an all-round great product. I was originally taking the Impact Weight Gainer and although I saw some improvements, they were nothing compared to the gains I've seen with this product. I have been taking this shake 3 times a day, once in the morning with my breakfast, one to sip during my workout (which is great for that extra energy when you're fatigued), and then one straight after my workout, for about 3 weeks. I've tried both the banana and chocolate mint flavours, the chocolate mint being the tastier of the two. 3 kilos gains in 3 weeks - fat gains also apparent obviously but hey, gotta eat big to get big. Be warned though, the mixability isn't great and you'll probably end up having to waste a bit of it if you don't have time to use a blender as it congeals in globules in the bottom of your shaker. I'd still recommend it though, despite this minor setback.Goes Well With:Creatine Gluconate or Creatine Monohydrate
I've been getting much better results with this than Hard Gainer Extreme. The only downside is the clumpiness of it when mixing. However, if I have the time, I'll mix it in the blender instead (sometimes throwing in raw spinach or broccoli and flax seed). Comes out smooth and creamy, and tastes great. My gains have definitely improved!
Total Gainer is a very good product. Goes Well With:Water
First of all, Total Gainer actually tastes like cookies and cream, so don't worry about the taste It does what it says on the packet - you gain mass but not too much fat, so it's perfect if you're not ready to start cutting but want to put on some lean mass. Its only downside is its mixability, but it's not really much of a problem. Overall, it's a good product. It works well and I would recommend this to anyone trying to gain a bit of mass relatively quickly.
The taste is relatively nice, it's fills me up for a bit. Mainly bought this product because I don't have time to eat at work. Found that it gives quite a bit of gas, mild discomfort to the stomach until i got for a number 2 on my first day with the product. Halved the recommended dosage and increased the number of serving a day and found that these problems disappear. But i'm finding massive clumps in my shaker, even after increasing to amount of liquid and decreasing the powder.
I have been using Total Gainer for 8 weeks now and can already see visible difference with my chest, shoulders and arms. Along with this I feel stronger and am lifting heavier weight with most of my exercises. Finally, the powder is hard to mix without getting lumps left in it, however I found that with simple use of a blender this problem is eliminated and the taste is actually fairly nice.
I have always bought Strawberry and Cookies and Cream flavoured Total Gainer, but I thought I'd try Banana. Unfortunately, I wasn't impressed with the taste. After drinking it, it kept repeating on me and bought back bad memories of cough syrup from my childhood. However I recommend strawberry and cookies and cream, both are good tasting and the mixability is generally good.
