Bought this for it's higher protein content. Found mixing the powder with a small amount of liquid first and letting it settle slighty before adding the rest of the liquid worked well. Combining it all together at once resulted in some horrendous lumpy and ridiculously frothy mess. I add coffee to mine, which helps make it more palatable.
Firstly, I am severely lactose intolerant and this means I'm limited to what protein I can have, so I thought that I'd be stuck with really gross options. I've tried so many, and was suffering (in silence) about how disgusting they were. Then I found MyProtein after some searching and took a risk by trying the Smooth Chocolate and Strawberry Cream. O M G! I have double scoops for meal replacement and protein loading for circuits, dancing, PiYo, ChaLean Extreme, P90X and weight management. Two scoops is the important bit for me because most protein doesn't mix well, even with a blender. I load my shaker, then with very low expectancies give it a thoroughly good mixing testing with the Chocolate first...it mixed, and no blender! Next came the taste...it was good! And I mean, really good, definite chocolate tastes, nutty aroma, went down really easily sipping it, no nasty after-taste either! The next day, I had a chocolate one in the blender, fantastic. Really smooth and creamy, take care with the amount of milk (I use Lactofree blue), not enough and it's not nice, but get your amount right, memorise it and keep to it. I eat a main meal at lunchtime, then in the evening I tried out the Strawberry Cream, used a shaker, mixed two scoops and O M G! It's even nicer than the Chocolate Smooth!!! How is this possible? Now, I mix one scoop of Strawberry with one Scoop of Chocolate for ultimate NOMZ!! The protein content is high, not as high as the unflavoured but I don't want to have to add fruit to make it taste nice, it would defeat the object of low carb and high protein. For anyone with a need to have Soya protein, this is the nicest I have ever tasted and I've already ordered my second set! Mix with shakers or blenders, add in fruit, I'd say blueberries, put in in cake mix for protein sponges, Lactofree milk, Soya milk, and Almond milk.
I decided to buy this as Whey protein results in acne for me and I have to say, I'm pleasantly surprised. The Strawberry Cream tastes great, I find the Vanilla has a slightly bitter aftertaste as a shake, but works well mixed in porridge or a pancake batter. The down sides? It doesn't mix as well as the Whey powders, but pop it in a shaker and it's fine and I would say add more liquid as it has a much thicker consistency. As for gains, it's too early to give a review but I will definitely be purchasing this product again.
I have bought about three batches of unflavoured spaced about 4 months in between, and I would say that the mixability went from medium-to poor-to good. I was told by the sales guy that it depends on the source of the protein. I had to use a blender to mix the powder in. Anyway the soya taste does not bother me. For effectiveness, I would say my gains were better than when I used whey -- apparently I am lactose intolerant.
Great as always! I always buy this protein powder, I love it and take it 3 times a day plus! I have it with oats for breakfast, with milk as a mid morning shake, before a workout I take it with powdered oats and milk with coffee as a flavouring and after a workout something similar, it's really good and I highly recommend it!Goes Well With:Milk, porridge, oat powder and as a protein bar mix!
Tastes nice, mixes well with soya or coconut milk. With almond it becomes so thick you need a spoon to eat it. Would highly recommend
I bought these products the other day as I have trouble with milk. I bought 1kg of Strawberry and 1kg choc smooth. The chocolate is ok, I have it mixed with 400ml water as it was way too thick with the recommended ammount, and I also blend in a banana to help with the taste. It tastes find when blended. The strawberry has been not so great to me. When you mix in a shaker it goes to half foam, half drink... I'm not sure why, and it makes is hard to drink, and the texture and flavour is not great. I think I'll stick to the chocolate when I've run out this time. Its good for the money and for the dietary requirements I have.Goes Well With:Rice milk, Water with banana.

I'm lactose intolerant so have to have this alternative, but soya is a deemed a complete protein so it's all good! Struggled with a dairy allergy/intolerance for years. Find the higher grade protein brands and those that claim to be lactose better for my stomach and breathing problems, but always affect me. Thought I'd give this a try, wasn't sure what to expect. Tastes great, mixes well. Only downside I've found is its a little foamy and takes quite a while to settle down. Would like to see the product available in a larger quantity as well.
I found this to be excellent, arrived on saturday. At first I found it hard to mix (because I wasn't shaking my shaker hard enough). Once shaken with two hands and adding water/milk bit by bit I found it to be like the normal Milk protein. The taste isn't excellent but I do this for my body. I've seen a significant change in my body in just over 3days of having this. (Or maybe that's because I am still young with a fast metabolism). But I wear shirts to work everyday and my colleagues are complimenting me on how I look already. Started the gym on Friday, protein arrived Saturday morning went to the gym. Been taking my daily amount ever since. I could write about how excellent this Soy whey powder is forever. DEFINITELY A MUST BUY. Eat correct and you WILL see progress with this just for the fact I think it's thick and has more protein the Diary protein. I've yet to try the flavoured varieties due to the increased cost, but I generally go through a 2.5kg unflavoured bag in around a fortnight as I use this along with instant oats and flax seed powder as a cheap vegan meal replacement and I feel fine. The downside being it doesn't taste all that good and it occasionally comes with contamination of bits of brown paper or plastic strapping fibres and when it does I feel quite ill.
I've used this product for several years now and am highly satisfied. It is easy to digest and a truly excellent source of protein in my diet - which as an 80 year-old vegetarian - is of great importance to me! It is always delivered quickly and in good packaging.
I was diagnosed as being dairy intolerant when I was 21 so whey protein was ruled out straight away. Furthermore, since that initial diagnosis I switched to a vegan diet; this isolate is an excellent alternative to the ever popular (and indigestible for myself!) whey protein. I have been using the unflavoured powder for the last month or so but gains are noticeable and have been monitored with body mass composition equipment to give concrete evidence of my progression. Does it taste great? No, not really. However, if you're used to consuming unsweetened soya milk, you already know that it is difficult to enjoy. I only use water to mix this isolate and have found that using approximately 300-400ml shaken in a mixer produces a creamy and thick - but very drinkable shake. It mixes reasonably well, though occasionally it will cling to the sides of my shaker if I put the soya protein in first. For this reason, I fill the bottle with water first before adding the powder and add additional water if it is too viscous once shaken. I can not comment for the 1kg pack, but to the 2.5kg amount comes with a large scoop which I found, much like a toy in a cereal box, hidden halfway through the bag. Overall I'd highly recommend this product for anyone who is dairy-intolerant or has an allergy as well as people who have a vegan diet. Goes Well With:Water.

I've tried a couple of soy protein isolate from different companies, but Myprotein.com have the best! As always with an unflavored batch, it has that initial 'feels like my gag reflex has been triggered'- but with their batch, it's just a one-off! What I like about it, is that it has an ever so slightly grainy texture, but goes down smoothly. It thickens up like casein, if left for a minute or two and doesn't have much excess foamage! I guess the only downside I'd have with this, is that it doesn't mix well if you use a spoon or fork. It needs to be shaken, not stirred (haha)! It's a perfect product for a pre/post workout (I prefer it for a pre workout), for weights or cardio, however intensive it maybe. Just have a lot of energy and focus when it kicks in.. I have been using the pea protein and soy protein for a number of years now. As a vegan I was finding it difficult to eat enough protein to build muscle without also eating massive amounts of carbs so I started with the pea and soy powders. I blend it with squash and a banana in the morning and shake it up with some squash after a workout - the banana definitely improves it but hey, I'm not drinking it for the taste. I also tried the other vegan proteins, but for me the price and taste/mix-ability of the pea and soy powders make them my favourites. I guess it has been effective as I'm stronger now than I have ever been - which is good.Goes Well With:Orange and mango squash for taste and a banana to give a smooth texture

I bought the 2.5kg unflavoured version, and was really worried that it was going to be awful, based on some of the reviews. However, all I can say is it tastes like nothing. I mix it with water and it is virtually flavourless and feels like you are downing some thick, gluggy medicine for your greater good. It is VERY thick, but you should be able to get a full portion down you in under a couple of minutes, and it works wonders. Well worth it. Vegans, do your thing!Goes Well With:water

I bought this as I'm trying the 'non-dairy' alternative, and the reviews of the flavour said it was ok. I've tried another 'unflavoured' mix from this site and the flavour was ok. This, however, is pretty disgusting I'm sorry to say. I even tried mixing it with coco powder to try and mask the taste and it doesn't work. I'll try and finish the packet, but it's going to be hard work and I'll have to try and find something else to make it taste remotely edible.
I bought the unflavoured version and in my opinion it isn't bad. I mix it usually half and half with a flavoured whey and it tastes fine. Its true it doesn't mix as well as other powders, but its obviously down to the ingredients as other soy isolates I have had have been the same; saying that, giving it a decent stir with extra liquid will leave it smooth. Soy Isolate is cheap for the protein content and the fact that its a complete protein. I got it in a sale which made it even better valueGoes Well With:Any flavoured whey to better the taste and to help give a more sustained release of protein.
I've been using the Vegan Blend protein but I thought I'd give the Soy Protein a try. First of all, I'd definitely recommend using a blender to mix it rather than a shaker, as it doesn't mix as well as some of the other proteins (e.g. the whey). I tend to use about 500 ml of milk (almond, coconut, soy, etc.) per scoop as this stuff is really thick. For me, that's great as I like my shakes to be thick. For the price, the protein content, and the fact that it's dairy free, this protein is just the right thing for me. I think the thick texture is great, and the taste of the unflavoured protein isn't really strong or overpowering. That said, I recommend adding some of the flavour drops. Goes Well With:Almond milk, soy milk or any other dairy-free milk (or normal milk if you drink it). Plus add some of the flavour drops if you go for the unflavoured variety.
I bought the vanilla flavour of this and it's not the best when mixed with water, and even tastes iffy when I add a scoop of cocoa! Great price, if you are happy to stomach the odd flavour though. It mixes quite well if you give it a good shake.
soy protein isn't one to be mixed with water or milk as a shake. I normally have it with a meal be it oats for breakfast, imaging eating mushy weetabix well this is what it tastes like to me. I also use it along with oats and whey impact to make pancakes which come out great because the soy protein make them fluffy and light. overall I would recommend it as an additional powder to something else but not used as main source of protein powder because it can be hard to eat alone due to taste texture etc.Goes Well With:porridge muesli (taste like mushy weetabix mixed in) pancakes (make them fluffy)

I ordered both the vanilla and strawberry cream flavours both of which are great although I prefer the vanilla. The strawberry cream smells stronger than it tastes and isn't too sweet. I mix them with water and 30g oats for brecky which I take to work in a tupperware box. I use a Bamix hand mixer to blend if drinking as a smoothie with just water but need to get a shaker bottle to take to work. Cost less for more than double the powder. Taste more than adequate. Mixed easily using 300ml rice milk and 1 scoop of powder with no excess frothing. Very filling, will definitely buy it again. Goes Well With:Rice milk.
Firstly, I only gave "taste" 3 stars as I drink unflavoured (MP flavours are generally good). I have ordered a few 2.5kg bags of this now and have come to expect some difficulty in making and consuming the shake. I find the most a 700ml shaker can handle is a "light" 1.5 scoops, but you need to add the powder to 400ml water, shake, then add 300ml+ of water and use a swirling motion to blend the shake trying not to create any further foam. Unfortunately this still yields a shake which is around 33% of inconsumable foam (bubbles do not seem to burst down with time). I am not sure what percentage this foam represents of the powder put in, but it is not great regardless. My latest batch 68246 appears to be worse than my previous. I also use the Impact Native Whey 95 which provides a good alternative for those wishing to avoid/minimise lactose intake. All in all, the soya is a reasonable product, just makes me look a bit odd preparing and drinking it at work.Goes Well With:Water - I have not tried with milk, but would imagine it would not be great.
The product is awesome, I had a one scoop shake with water before bed, and a 1 scoop shake with milk (an attempt at hiding the soy taste) in the morning 2 hours before a game (and a banana) and didn't feel hungry at all through out the day. The only thing I think I'm skeptical about is the soy taste that sort of over powers the rest, it's not the worst shake I've ever consumed. But its got a light bite, Cows milk helped with that but...I can't keep doing that due to milk allergies, hence the need for soy ha. Effective though, definitely recommend for those looking to find something that doesn't leave them with the urge to snack between scheduled meals. :)) Goes Well With:Almond Milk

Great protein product, I always have some everyday it goes well with milk, coffee, oats and/or flavouring. I shall be buying more.
I don't have any significant dietary needs but decided to try Soy Protein due to my sensitive digestive system. I can definitely say it has made a difference - a lot easier to digest than whey. However, it is quite hard to mix and definitely needs a lot more liquid than recommended. Personally, next time I would also order a flavoured mix, the unflavoured is just that - unflavoured - but a bit boring and hard to swallow for me. Can't comment on fitness effectiveness as I haven't really been able to use it consistently but hopefully I will be able to soon!
Plus points, obviously price per Protein % makes it the best value but most of all I find it very easy on the stomach. I too have a lactose intolerance but even the Pea and brown rice protein left me windy, which makes it hard to consume alot. Only negatives are mixability, need alot of water and it really froths up so don't shake too much. If you can put up with that, this is a great product
I bough this about 6 months ago. I was attracted by the price really and that was the deciding factor. I started using protein supplements as a post work out thing a couple of years ago. I used to do high weight low rep stuff and would feel very hungry after a work out and crave food. I would eat crisps and biscuits and wonder why I never seemed to look and slimmer. I tried a supermarket brand protein supplement which seemed to be mainly sugar with a little protein. I then tried a whey protein which worked wonders. One pre work out and one post work out and I started to change shape musc to my delight. I don't eat meat but I'm not vegan and I do eat a lot of TSP in my diet. I was looking for a cheap alternative to whey and found this stuff on sale. It has had the same effect as the whey protein for less money and does seem easier on the gut. I'm not lactose intolerant and I don't believe half the people who say they are but I find my guts are much more settled since I changed from whey to soy. It's gone back up in price now but it still cheaper than whey and I find it tastes good if mixed with instant coffee and blended in a shaker. It's like a latte but not as sweet. I use 1 scoop of unflavoured to 250ml of water and a 3 in 1 nescafe sachet for an indulgent latte moment. great stuff and highly recommended by a non lactose intolerant non vegan. NB a couple of times a week I have some oily fish to increase my protein types but this does me for the rest of the week.
I was skeptical of moving from whey, but with increasing issues with digestion of whey I decided to check out soy. The protein per gram seemed greater, the health benefits of soy seemingly endless and the ability to digest it without any issues it's made this the perfect powder. I opted for chocolate and have to say it is the best powder I've ever used - it mixes well with just water, thickness dependent upon amount of powder. The flavour and taste is great and feels like a treat unlike other powder. Id recommend this for everyone looking for more protein in their diets regardless of lactose intolerance or not!

My Protein Soy isolate is, simply put, an excellent product. The unflavoured variety has a neutral taste and mixes very easily in milk and water. I have also used the powder in baking, producing my own protein bars and have mixed it into oatmeal with great results. I believe, overall, this is an excellent substitute for milk based protein powders and you should definitely give it a try!
I was completely new to the whole 'protein shake' thing but after starting crossfit, it was advised to me. I don't eat dairy, gluten or meat and so I figured it would be difficult to find a suitable powder and the ones I would find would be awful. Having been recommended to MyProtein from fellow crossfitters, I was pleased at how easy it was to come across a gluten free, vegan option. I bought the vanilla without hesitation but was still a little dubious. The first time I made it up, I used almond milk and my god, I couldn't physically drink it, I had to use a spoon! It was like angel delight though so I couldn't moan too much. I soon discovered water was the best mix but I use about 100ml more than advised to or it's still too thick for me. Can't really comment on mixability compared to other powders because I haven't tried any but I've never had any problems and never had any lumps! Taste is quite nice I guess. It's not vile and it's not delicious. It's just...alright. Like drinking water, it's just quite plain. Delicious with the almond milk but see aforementioned comment about thickness. Haven't been brave enough to throw it into recipes yet but I probably will soon! I've definitely noticed my shape changing since using this product. My definition is becoming more apparent and my linear progression is improving at a faster rate. Very happy with this product and will be checking out other flavours and buying again and again!
Wasn't too pleased when I first tried this. Got the unflavored one and wasn't keen on the taste at all and it didn't seem to mix well with anything. I love it now though. I get the strawberry cream one and use a nutribullet to blend it with milk, ice and some frozen berries and have it for breakfast every day. As others have mentioned it needs a while to settle after mixing to get rid of the froth.

I went vegetarian for a year a while ago to lose some weight and started using this for my protein needs. I'm still using it now although I'm thinking about changing due to the majority of soy being GMO :( I use the unflavored stuff with hemp seed milk and blueberries. Why hemp milk? 1. No lactose, 2. the brand I use had added D2 and calcium, infact 2 350 ml servings give you 100% of your RDA. 3.Has omega 3 and 6. 4. Contains ALL of your essential amino acids. 5. For me it tastes better than soy or almond milk, nutty flavour. Throw in some blueberries and this makes an awesome shake, higher protein content than most Whey products. Being a vegan is difficult, but having alternative sources of protein such as soy is amazing. You will get used to the taste, but the mixability is really poor. I hate when it is not dissolved. Needs more water than recommended.Goes Well With:Hot water+soy+cinnamon (+coffee as well!!)!
Tastes ok, I always choose chocolate flavor. It is a great protein to fill the gap between whey and casein to ensure muscle protein sythesis.

I've recently become allergic to all dairy products and have struggled to find a decent complete protein alternative to whey until now, well actually it's been 5 months now! At first I mixed as instructed on the packet but found it was way too thick so I've been playing around with the liquid measurements and found 450 - 550ml works best for me and leave for 30 mins before drinking! I take this shake 3 times a day and never dread having to take like some others I've tried. I will say some packets mix better than others for some strange reason not sure why that is MP? Strawberry and Vanila are my favourite, can't comment on the choc as I haven't tried, not a choc lover. Hope this helps!

I'm lactose intolerant and I think this is the best you can get. The combination of nutrition value, taste, price - makes this the only choice for me. My only negative comment, which I'm frustrated over: I wish that you could get bigger pouches in the flavored versions. Maybe 2.5 kgs!Goes Well With:It's brilliant with water after workout. This protein has a slightly finer texture and a sweeter taste to other soy proteins that I've previously tried - the sweeter the better haha! I ordered the Vanilla flavoured one and the taste is subtle so you can mix it with a lot of other different things as the taste is not too overwhelming. The protein mixes pretty well and overall it is a good product. I look forward to trying more flavours and other proteins on the site.
