HMB (Beta-hydroxy beta-methylbutyrate) is a metabolite of the branch chain amino acid Leucine.
As an amino acid this can be beneficial in the growth and maintenance of muscle mass.
This can be used by athletes or regular gym goers to help optimise recovery and training goals.

Got to say this is the worst tasting supplement I've ever ingested, thought BCAA's powder was bad till I had this! It is effective though so will continue to take.
This supplement is something that will be a steady in my supplement stack forever. Not for the taste. The taste i horrible! But it works! 2 weeks in and i stopped getting doms. Stopped completely. So far i've suffered badly from doms, even after the smallest of workouts. But once it's in my system it just stops. One of my favorite products.Goes Well With:Anything you can get down fast
This tastes HORRIBLE. But it will increase your strength as well as overal muscle mass. beware that you will retain a bit of water if you take it so keep your water intake up
My regime (exercise and calorie intake) has pretty much stayed the same over the last month apart from using this supplement (3times per day as instructed), and I'd say I've noticed more muscle and less fat on me. It's ok, seems to work. Had no scoop inside pack so difficult in judging 1g or 6th of a teaspoon. Goes Well With:Mixed it with protein powder
Been taking for a few weeks now. No noticeable results. I find that it keeps weight, but think is down to water retention rather than anything else. Doesn't seem to help with post training soreness. The taste isn't good, but not as bad as some suggest. Taste is better than pea/brown rice protein. You get used to it after a week or so. I'd suggest you go for a smaller size if you decide to try it.You might not save money, but its better than having kilos of worth of talcum powder!Goes Well With:A mixer. Mixability is poor!

It always helps me get a little leaner and good for recovery. But I use a teaspoon of it 3 times a day. Can't say I notice a whole lot on 1.5g x 3 times a day. Re the taste.....add it to a little flavoured carbonated (helps it mix quicker) water in a shaker and shake. Taste practically gone.:)
I bought a bag about a month ago and have been taking on workout days. Ive been experimenting with the time taken and the results are pretty similar. Ive never really suffered with DOMs only when Ive had a long break from a particular mucle group. But as mentioned in the majority of reviews its tastes horrible, Ive been mixing it with squash and you can still make out the "taste of feet"! Its difficult to tell if there's any gains in mass as Ive been taking other products with HMB so Im torn whether to get another bag. Purchase wisely people!! Would possibly only recommend if you suffer badly with DOMs

I got this product thinking it was going to taste so bad! But if you use the correct dose mixed with your pre and post WO sgakes its hardly even noticable!! I think some people may be not measuring correctly? As I remember I had BCAA powder a few years ago and it was un drinkable until I got the doseage correct... So please dont be put off by reviews of the horrid taste!! This stuff is like icing sugar though! In that it goes everywhere... From a performance point of view, I would wholehaeartedly recommend HMB to anybody. I'm a long distance triathlete and regularly train 20+ hours per week. I have been taking 1g of HMB three times per day for almost a month. Since using HMB I have noticed some reduction in DOMS compared to before, and I have seen an improvement in my measured aerobic threshold that is unusually large for the type of training that I've been doing at this time of the year. The only negative is the flavour. Wow it tastes bad! I was originally taking it in 200-300ml of water with some Robinsons blackcurrant, and it was making me gag. I've since switched to taking it with semi skimmed milk and this has been much better. If you can get past the taste then this is a really great product.
I have never made complaints regarding taste. But this taste is ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. Haven't used it for too long - so I can't say if HMB really works for me at this stage, but again the taste is awful - I was near to throw up every time I took it.
I've just received my 500g. bag of it and after workout I had my 1st tasty shake. I thought that it will be plastic scoop in the bag but i couldn't find one or do I need to get one other wise I can't measure exactly a gram?
Massive benefits from taking this supplement. Suffered a lot from DOMS beforehand. Been taking this for 1 month now, a lot less DOMS post workout. Have also noticed that my strength is increasing faster than beforehand. Possibly due to less catabolism whilst training a 3 day split (limited recovery). Would recommend.
Pretty good product, but to be honest, the taste is terrible. I'm not a choosey guy, but if I compare this to the unflavored BCAA, than BCAA tastes much better. Goes Well With:Any flavoured products

Started taking it along with BCAAs a week ago after 12 weeks of cutting. I stalled for 2 weeks and when I started taking it along with BCAAs and my weight started dropping again. I don't know if it's because of the HMB and BCAA, but there is some good research on it that proves that it may help when cutting.Goes Well With:BCAAs

I've been using this product for a couple of weeks now and I have definitely noticed a big improvement with DOMS. Usually after a heavy leg session, I could barely walk for two days. Since taking this supplement 3 times a day, the DOMS are all but gone. There's still a "Good Ache" a few days after but nothing like the pain I used to get. It could be that I'm getting used to the heavy training, but I suspect the HMB is doing its magic.Goes Well With:Fruit Juice

Brilliant and worthy product, especially for the price. Even when mixed with water alone I'd still say it's very close to tasteless, however when mixed with juice it's not tasteless at all. It mixes very well in a shaker. I haven't been using it quite long enough yet to comment on effectiveness yet but all in all, it's a great product!Goes Well With:Water/juice/whey!
My protein shakes that I take during the Day consist of just one scoop of protein with 50/50 milk and water. However pre/mid/post workout shakes I mix them with all kinds of stuff. I mix this with a mid and post workout shake. It is a very fine dust is the only issue, just be aware.
I use this product first thing in the morning with my pre workout ,once I finish my workout, and at night time (with casein). As I have only just started using it it is too early to see results although I have noticed a slight decrease in my bodyfatGoes Well With:beta alaine, glutamine, creatine & water fruit juice
Brilliant supplement! I've been taking it for 2 weeks and have been able to add 10kg to my bench and 5kg to a shoulder press. Very impressed. Would recommend for those looking to build strength.
After taking this product for 2 weeks I do feel a lot fuller and pumped up, which is a great feeling. The one downside is that the taste is horrendous, but if you take it with a fruit juice it's not that bad. Would definitely recommend trying it.
- Taste is the worst I have ever had but you get used to it. Just stand by the sink the first time you try it - I warned you. - Only way to mix it in is to put in the shaker and go nuts. - Early days yet, but can help when taken pre and post workout. As well as morning and night. - Fairly well priced supplement but not an essential one. Goes Well With: Glutamine.

"Tastes awful but it works if you know how and when to take it. Best taken as a small shot with fruit juice and necked quickly. I read about this for many years and most reviews are negative. I read that for it to be effective you need to be taking at least 10g per day or not bother, which means buy the 500g pack. I have noticed a big increase in size buy taking 10 grams around 8pm. I train in the gym everyday around 3 - 4:30pm. It is claimed it is only anti catabolic so I was expecting similar results to Micelar casein however I have noticed a big increase in size, endurance, decrease in bodyfat but not any strength gains yet. I have been taking for 2 weeks. it is suggested to ideally take 5 grams 3 times per day so 15grams in total for optimum results. So morning afternoon and evening."
"i have used it and i can say that this product is a great product, a miracle i say. i have previously worked out my muscle and have ended up resting for a week minimum because they hurt a lot. I take 2.5-3 grams of hmb 3 times a day in my shake and they work great to improve recovery. "I like this stuff. It has increased my strength by around 7% over a 2 month period. Don't expect miracles, some reviews talk of massive increases in strength and size! Maybe - but I think not. If your brand new to training then maybe this would explain such gains as your strength increases rapidly from a new start before leveling out. HMB would be the top of the tree in all stores and on all websites if it was providing 20% increase's in strength! plus every pro athlete on earth would be taking it - in fact, it would already be a banned substance. Back to reality - It is however in my top 3 - It will give you modest gains if used correctly. I have taken this every day with Isolated whey protein and have notice big result in terms of Strength and have gained 1stone in mass. I train 5 times a week with 2 days with CV work...and have gained approx 15% in strength and fast recovery!!! "You know when you read those 'reviews' the ones that say things like *miracle product* *you won't believe the gains* and one of the best I've read *stamina in the gym...and the bedroom*....you end up buying the product and 'hope' it makes a difference. Well...this does. I have changed nothing. my routine, my diet,protien/carbs intake, my life....nothing. But I have used this supplement for a month. Each and every week of that month my bench press has increased. I'm lifting 10kg more for 5-6 reps than I was a month ago. After no change for over 4 months. My chest is fuller. My deltoids have a nice tear drop shape like I've never seen before. It can only be the HMB. Pleeeease buy this product. "I've now been taking this product for 7 weeks ,it arrived 3 days after ordering it. I've been taking it alongside creatine monohydrate and while I was sticking to my diet i started getting ripped within 4-7 days noticeable difference,but the last 3 weeks over christmas i've stayed the same because i've ate like c*ap. But my strength has improved a lot over the full 7 weeks but thats probably due to the monohydrate. I recommend it but only if your going to eat sensibly."
it wont replace hard work and a good diet but it will reduce recovery time and breakdown a bit. As a review of MP - excellent the product in it's most basic form at the most competitive price with the least sci fi bullsh1t - well done. Taste - come on - any medicine that works has to taste bad.

"OK, This stuff tastes vial no way around that. If you can keep it down mixed with water you are a better man than me. I have found that mixing it in with a protein shake works well. Mixing with grape or orange juice also works but you still get the after tatse in your mouth. Just tried the berry blast that is designed for this and it works wonders. A worthy investment unless you like gagging. Lasts for ever and well worth the money"
Have been taking this product for a few weeks now and am pleased with the results. My recovery times are great and i have more lean muscle. Seems to have improved my anaerobic endurance. The only problem is the taste
"I've been using it for a while and it seems to last me forever! Fast recovery and very little DOMS, as well as retained mass when cutting are some of the benefits I have experienced. \n\nI do wish the packaging was a little better though, mine came with some powder sealed in the top section which spilt out when I opened it."
