Try a sample before you buy the whole box and see how your digestive system reacts to them! These bars contain Lactospore (a lactic acid-forming bacterial species) which are supposed to help your digestive system. Well... I ate one and after 30 minutes it gave me massive bloating and gases in the stomach, also a bit of pain. The smell of the fart was intolerable... just awful! I was like rotting inside. I'm not saying that everyone reacts like this, but be smart and try one before you buy a whole box. The taste wasn't also anything special, though the price for this kind of nutritional composition is good.

Despite tasting pretty good the chocolate orange one absolutely ruins my digestive system. I never knew my body could produce so much foul smelling gas before I started eating these! :D. Try before buy if I were you - guess they're just not compatible with me!

Not as tasty as other protein bars I have, but the exact nutritional content I needed which is most important. I bought this on a buy 2 for 3 promo, so really worth it. Thanks MP for always have cheap priced products.

First bars I have bought in bulk, really pleased - flavours aren't my favourite but went for choc orange and no complaints. Reall do a job and quite addictive, just make sure you take small bites, unless its a jaw workout you are after! Recommend as a top snack - good alternative to yet another shake for us skinny types.

These give me an extremely painful stomach/intestine area, even after just one. I've tried other bars without any such trouble. It's a shame because they taste awesome and are well priced. I would recommend buying just one box or a sample to start with rather than going for any bulk buy discounts, because if you it effects you in the same way, the pain is unbearable.

These are simply amazing. Put them on a plate in the microwave for 15 seconds of full power then eat and it melts a bit and goes really soft it is the nicest thing ever. Chocolate orange one that is, I 100% guarantee.

Decent product and good as a convenience meal when out or a snack that won't kill your intake. I give them a +3 on my taste scale (-5 worst to +5 best, any positive is enjoyable, negatives are not). I have tried chock mint and orange, which are solid tough bars but not a problem and feel substantiel to eat. The flavour is good and i think the mint/orange edge mask any artificial after taste. The forest fruit bar was much tougher to eat and a little too much hard work to enjoy, it also lacked a bit of flavour but was perfectly eatable. I've just reordered choc mint which i will stick to, will only be using these when out for ther day or need something to grab fast.

OMG, these bars are gorgeous. Have only tried the chocolate orange ones, but am addicted ! they taste so lovely, and are very good for you - result ! I am trying to cut down the amount I am eating as they are so nice. I am on a healthy eating plan at the moment, and these are a great treat, very filling, and satisfy my sweet tooth ! try the chocolate orange ones, you wont be disappointed.

These bars are great!. each bar is different, in taste, texture and how its made. the choc orange is fantastic, its spongey, orangey and great. the vanilla is pretty chewy as is forrest fruit.

Tried a couple of flavours of the High Pro protein bar (and raspberry Oats and Whey flapjack) based on the other customer comments. Have to say the Vanilla and Honeycomb Pro bar was as good as it's reviews. Forest Fruit and Chocolate Orange were OK although a bit more flavour to the forest fruit would do it the world of good and less chocolate and more orange in the other - but then again I'm not a chocolate fan and always find this. I still try this flavour just in case I find a version I like. I was expecting a very chewy bar from the other comments but they are OK, I've tried a lot, lot worse. If in doubt, go for a a selection of sample bars first, it certainly helped me.

Tastes pretty good to me! Quite chewy, which means it feels like a proper meal; by the end of it I'm full, and it provides plenty of protein.

I was skeptical to try these given that even the positive reviews were laced with some negativity. But I figured I'd get a sample and went for the vanilla and honeycomb flavour. They taste great! They are a little tough to chew, kind of like a thick nougat; but the texture changed to be a little grainy, which I liked, within seconds. My one problem is the price for 12 of them, seems a little steep to me - I will definitely be buying a box; although probably only one a month. Considering that everyone's palatte is different; I'd recommend buying a sample with your next order to "test the waters."

As I've come to expect from myprotein - a no nonsense product. The forest fruit flavour is pleasant and not too strong, whilst the consistancy will soon give me the muscular, chiselled face I've desired for so long.

I can't understand people complaining about the taste and texture of these bars, with high levels of protein they are never going to taste like a Mars bar! They are very chewy and take a while to eat but they taste just fine and give me the chocolate fix I want with high levels of protein, certainly no worse than any other protein bar I've tried.

These things are fantastic, the absolute perfect balance of Protein/Carbs/Fat and fibre. I personally love the taste of Vanilla & Honeycomb, not tried any others yet but will be. Actually really satisfying where other large brands aren't (puts other bars to shame big time) Taste can get the slightest bit powdery towards the end but is perfected by a small glass of milk/. Amazing!!!!

I have tried all of the flavours of these with the exception of the chocolate orange: Choc mint - 5* - Best of the bunch. Moist and chocolatey, there is no way these can be good for you but the nutritional info does not lie. These are simply fantastic with a cup of tea. Vanilla and Honeycombe - 5* - Again top notch, taste and texture reminds me of fudge more than anything else. Great when you're craving something sweet. Forest Fruit - 1* - Vile. Struggled to finish the box, dry, powdery, and unapealing flavour.

having recently been trying out all the protein bars i can get my hands on i have come to a few conclusions. the first is that when rating the taste and texture of a bar you tend to find (and im sure this no coincidence) that it tends to be the ones with a higher carb content that are better. lets be honest, how many hi protein low carb foods are really that palatable in large quantities. protein bars are no different. the second is that being lactose intolerant i have found bars to not be such a problem despite them all containing an amount of whey concentrate. these bars are certainly edible. not fantastic but definitely not bad considering the ratio of macros. i personally will continue to use them partially due to the dreaded feeling i get when i think about having to consume another shake from my stinking shaker bottle. definitely worth a try if your pondering on the idea of them.

The texture of these bars in my opinion.. is not good. They are chewy, and filling, but they break up in the mouth like some stale cake or something. The flavour however is good.. Not too over powering but enough to give it a good taste. (Choc Mint).

Firstly, I am pleased that MP have sample MyBars available individually. I have just tried the Choc Mint bar. As many of the other reviews say, it is very chewy, has an odd texture (almost rubber-like) and the taste is very bland/non existent. I am glad I bought just the one, and sadly wouldn't recommend them to others on taste. I have also tried the **COMPETITOR** meal bars, and although they're more expensive, found the taste to be far superior on this occasion.

This bar is not bad, it is a very thick and chewy but so are many of the other protein bars on the market. I sampled the vanilla and honeycomb, I was slightly disappointed because I thought it had honeycomb pieces but it still tasted very nice. I've now tried all flavours: Chocolate orange - intense and pleasant Chocolate mint - intense and fine if you like After 8s in quantity Forest fruit - OK - would prefer more pronounced flavour Vanilla & honeycomb - I'd prefer more vanilla & less honey, but find these easiest to continue eating regularly. Nice chewy texture with all 4 and much less sweet than Atkins Advantage, so don't tend to lead to cravings for more straight after.

these are good solid bars so you need great teeth to bite through or just cut them in smaller chunks, they are also very chewy but chewings good as it helps make you feel fuller longer, disliked the coating but that was soon gone with chewing so Im very pleased overall, I thought there would be some bits of honeycomb in them, sort of like bits of crunchies bars by cadbury, but it was all smooth, no bits, so that was a surprise but I didnt mind. Taste could be stronger falvoured but its palatable, so yes, I will be buying again. Thankyou for the trial bars which are a top idea, so we can get one before buying a whole box and disliking them. James probably has a more highly trained pallatte than most of us. Id be more than happy to have his unwanted bars though ;-)

These bars are very good value and great tasting too. I enjoy the fact that they take a while to eat as it makes you realise you're eating something. Though couple of down points, 16 grams of fibre is too high in my opinion and have been had minor toilet troubles for a week or so since ordering. Secondly I ordered in bulk on the choc orange and they all have end of october as the expiry date. Having bought choc mint with a year expiry date i thought i would have plenty of time to eat the multiple boxes i have purchased. Generally a good product though

Just had my first Vanilla & Honey bar. Not too sweet and not too chocolatey. Vanilla taste is a bit muted. I really like the chewy consistency that other loathe. I'm concerned about the high carb level and am not too keen on the vegetable oil (mentioned in addition to palm oil). Unlike bars I've bought retail, this one doesn't incline me to wolf down a second immediately, which is great. Overall a good buy.

Extremely disappointing. I bought a box of chocolate orange flavour, which has zero orange taste. This review is for the original chocolate orange bars, I am pleased to see an extension on the flavours, excited to test the choc-mint and vanilla & honeycomb! The taste of the choc-orange has grown on me yes these bars are quite chewy but if you chow one down with a cup of tea or coffee they taste great. I use these bars as a back-up snack for those occasions when I can’t be arsed to prepare one of my six meals a day, a quick easy way to get some good protein in you and satisfy hunger. • Don’t expect a traditional flapjack... (27/03/2010)
  • Review:
I’ve tried the ‘Oats and Whey Chocolate Chip (was Flapjack)’ bar and found it to be nothing like a choc chip flapjack. For a start... the whole thing appeared to be a chocolate flavoured bar, with no chips of chocolate to be seen (not that it mattered as the whole thing tastes of chocolate!). I could only see the odd fleck of oat here & there (my guess is that most of the oats are so finely ground that they become indistinguishable from the rest of the bar). It was quite a solid bar, though far easier to bite & chew than the (less expensive) ‘High Pro’ bar (which I do not recommend in another review). I have settled for this bar as the MP ‘High Pro’ bar is inedible even though it has a better (for my needs) nutritional profile (more protein to carb ratio). I often find myself working late and need something to keep the hunger at bay and to fuel an upcoming workout, so while my colleagues order greasy pizzas I can reach into a drawer and chomp down a filling bar with a 2:1 carb, protein ratio. Will buy again.

I have bought these now every month without fail since i first tried them about 5 months ago. The Orange tastes fantastic with a Terry's Choc Orange taste so everyday is like Christmas morning :) Texture is fine but i do agree with the comments about the 'chewiness' of the bar, but i take smaller bites which makes the bar last longer which is good. No adverse side effects (Wind!) like some reviewers have had. All told, for the money they are easily as good as the Maxiripoff orange bars that cost almost twice as much!!! 5*****

They are MASSIVE. much bigger than i had expected. I also imagined they would be oaty-granola style bar. not a replica of a chocolate bar. A full bar at one time is far too much to handle. i can only eat about half of it. even then i feel a bit sick. the chewiness I don't mind. the taste is ok. not sure about the flatulance that someone mentioned...not experienced anything YET. i am now finishng the other half of the bar off as i am writing this. i do prefer the shakes though anyday.

I have to say to start with I am a big MP fan, BUT these bars are not good. I agree with comments from others that they are VERY chewy - they last for ages! But with comments such as 'so are all protein bars', with that I must disagree. I am currently working my way through the box with gritted teeth. Once they're gone, I will look to other protein/meal bars in future. If these were the first bars I'd ever tasted, I would've just gone back to always drinking shakes.

Love chocolate orange so its nice to have a naughty tasting treat thats actually good for me and my goals. Only thing stopping it from being 5 stars is that they are a tad chewy but not enough for me not to keep buying them.

These are excellent. I've had protein bars from another company that were also tasty but chewier than these bars. These have a great texture. Warning to anyone who doesn't like a fudgy texture, you won't find a protein bar without this so don't complain! The thing that lets these down is that as a snack between meals they're not a good choice because I find they leave me hungrier, almost like a regular chocolate bar. Given the choice between this and a mars bar tho this is on par for taste and obviously much better nutritionally. Really impressive.
  • Best protein bar i've tried (12/12/2009)
  • Review:
I don't usually go in for protein bars as they don't usually have the nutritional info i'm looking for, ie- they often have extra unnecessary Kcals.\nThese looked quite good and were on offer, so i thought i'd get 'em to break things up a little.\nYes, they were chewy and on the dry side, but I think that better tasting protein bars (if there are any) on the whole are probably those that are high in fats and empty calories.\nI wouldn't rush to get these again (but not one for bars anyway), although I wouldn't avoid 'em either, I'd say that i'd consider them again if they were on an offer. I got through them pretty quick to be fair.
  • best protein bar, bar none (23/11/2009)
  • Review:
i'm slowly progressing through one of these as i write this. the taste is pretty awesome, easily mistaken for an actual chocolate/orange chocolate bar. it's quite chewy, hence the 4 star rating. i thought i'd had a whole body workout but my jaws are being put through a gruelling test. i would buy again but for the fact that i prefer shakes. highly recommended for those who prefer the convenience of protein bars or cannot muster up the strength after a workout to mix up a shake.
  • It's a bar of protein! (03/11/2009)
  • Review:
Having never tried protein bars before (I've always been a shake man), I decided to give these a go as they were on sale.\n\nTaste-wise, they are pretty good - as others have said, similar to a terry's choc orange. Not too sweet, but not to plain either. I'd much rather have one of these than a sickly sweet "normal" chocolate bar.\n\nIn terms of texture, I really didn't know what to expect, and I'd say this is what stops me giving it a higher mark. After a few chews it can tend to take on a papery texture and I would recommend having something to wash it down with.\n\nBut - it's a protein bar, you can't expect a gooey chocolate piece of delight. It does the job and tastes good at the same time. Recommended.

  • Review:
On paper these protein bars are incredible, the nutritional composition is as good as or better than any other protein bar I’ve tried and if you buy in bulk, like I did, they’re less than £1 each!\n\nBut that’s on paper... on closer inspection, on the side of the box it says, “Excessive consumption may cause a laxative effect.” Try, after ONE bar you get a laxative effect! Seriously, after eating just one bar I could crack out a fart that would knock the neighbours Rottweiller over at 20 paces!\n\nAfter 2 bars the constant stream of flatulance was nothing short of embarrassing. I’d bought these bars for their apparent convenience to take to work, but would have to keep nipping off to the loo to drop my guts - anything but convenient.\n\nAfter 3 bars - just be in sprinting distance of the bog.\n\nNow I know that some people have had no difficulty with this product and it has been a boon of convenience for them. What I’m saying is, try a sample first and don’t buy a ton of them thinking it’ll save you money - like I did.... unless of course you have the kind of friends that are impressed by the ‘le pétomane’ like skills you could end up with.

I don't understand the negative reviews on these bars, maybe the negative reviewers indulge in other chocolate bars on a daily basis and compare them to these. \n\nIf you are a strict dieter then these bars will be like heaven, they are awesome, they* have been a life saver since i started University.
  • Great Bar! (15/10/2009)

One of the best value and nutritional bars I could find. Not as sweet or tasty as others but it gives you a sense that they are good for you. They are chewy but I found them easy to chomp through and enjoyed the taste. Thumbs up!

I bought the bars because I felt I wanted to improve my protein intake over the course of the day as it is difficult to eat a meal at work.\n\nI've never really bothered with protein bars before as i found them overpriced. These are a great price and taste great. Would recommend to anyone,

Fantastic next day delivery as usual, dont understand the negative reviews on these, for someone who doesn't allow myself chocolate bars these are a very tasty easy to swallow treat, yes chewy but even my chocaholic wife had a nibble, looking forward to a daily 3pm treat.

check for missing teeth after eating these you need lots of water to aid chewing. Very dry and not a nice taste however it packs in a lot of protein. I wont buy again because of the taste and texture of the bar. I am waiting for the other bars to come back in stock.
  • my 2 cents (15/07/2009)
  • Review:
Lots of reviews here. I shall echo some comments:\n1) Need plenty of water with these\n2) Very chewy. Mandbile workout if nothing else\n3) tastes nice all the same\n4) high 4.6% sat fat content a bit worrying\n5) "May cause laxative effect if consumed in large quantities", so I tend to nibble on them, rather than gorge!\n\nThese minor issues aside, they're a handy compact protein blast and have ordered more.

Just wanted to rewrite my review a bit. \n\nIve had these for about a week now & i have to say you do get used to them. Ive been eating them due to their great nutritional profile & they're definately nicer when you know what to expect. Just make sure you have a drink at hand & you'll find them pretty useful. Very easy way to carry around a good compact source of protein.

Just got these the other day.\n\nPersonally i found them to be very dry, i didnt taste the orange much atall. Just seemed like eating chalk wrapped in chocolate. To much fiber imo.\nRegardless of taste, they're not easy to eat. \nPerhaps others will like them, not for me.\n\nCant see myself choosing these often over just a nice tasting smoothie.

Ive tried alot of protein bars recently and found that these are one of the best tasting bars out there! Granted its not going to win any awards for taste this is certainly outweighed by the fact its a nutritionaly brilliant bar for its price! I know everyones different so you might not experience it but i do feel the effects of the bars high fibre content. Doesnt put me off though too much and is great to satisfy my sweet tooth with a cup of tea late in the afternoon! My opinion: another great product from My Protein!

I'm deeply impressed at these bars. Very tasty (it's hardly a Snickers but that's not the point), vegetarian, includes probiotics for better digestion, the highest protein in a single bar I could find, excellent sugar/fat content, and fantastic value. Truly excellent. \n\nIMO the best bar on the market. I won't be buying any other!

Great taste, enjoyable as a snack on its own. I work as an accountant and therefore have difficulty eating heavily in the mornings and during late afternoon. These bars allow me to pack in extra protein during the morning and late afternoon without the effects of feeling bloated and drowsy from constantly eating high calorie meals.
  • Don't be fooled... (25/04/2009)
  • Review:
Let me start by saying this is the best protein bar I have tasted, not the best chocolate bar. Don't get confused thinking that these taste like normal chocolate bars, they don't. The texture is completely different imho. They resemble terrys chocolate orange slightly.\nHowever as I said these are the best 'protein' bars I have tasted and the nutritional content is excellent. Been taking these for a couple of months in place of my 'True Whey' at lunchtimes and these bars have the same excellent effect.\nRecommended!

Ordered a few boxes of these to give them a try whilst on a low carb diet due to the majority of carbs coming from polyols. Certainly havne't stopped the weight coming off. They taste good and are very chewy and filling. Pressumambly most people are taking these for their protein content which is a whopping 28g or so. All in all a good product and excellent value for money. I give the actual bars 5 stars for their value and quality. I would however like to see other flavours introduced as like myself I'm sure many people who are consuming these daily would like some variety. This is a minor detail as with all my purchases from myprotein I am more interested in the quality of the product and what effect it has on my body rather than taste. Just on this occassion I believe a few extra flavours would be well appreciated

I've tried a few different protien bars, but I must say that these ones are amazing! They taste great, loads of protein, and leave ya feeling full for a fair while! If you like me, and can only eat as/when you can while at work, these are a great way to help keep up your protien/carbs!\n\nI'm not a big chocolate lover (actually, eating chocolate makes me feel sick), but these bars with the orange chocolate flavour I could eat all day! Reminds me of a Terry's Chocolate Orange mmm :)

I bought these bars as i thought they'd be perfect for when i have long days at uni or work and can't easily get my shaker bottle out. They taste really nice, have a chewy texture and it really does fill you up. the only downside is that i suffered abit of flatulance, something the protein shakes never give me. I might try the caramel ones to see if they have the same reaction.

Tried the carmel my bar and really like those so when these became available I bought a box. \n\nFirst impression is of a sort of mars bar but instead of consuming it in a couple of bites, this lasts a while. The consitency is nice and chewy and the flavour is just about right, not overpowering or sugary but tasty. I usually take the mybars out when I'm hiking as they really pack a punch. I think MP is onto another cool product. \n\nWill definiately order more.
  • Yummy with just the right amount of orange-ness! (03/02/2009)
  • Review:
These are lovely & yummy with just the right amount of orange-ness! I had my first one tonight, as earlier per reviews below you could easily have half, or cut it up into several pieces. The taste is just right for my sweet tooth, chocolatey enough for my girlie-cravings, and yet not to orangey (I don't like orange juice, but I like Terry's Chocolate Orange at Easter) - it has a lovely subtle hint of orange to it. The texture.. hmmm, well it's not unlike a Milkyway bar (or a Cadbury's Fudge Bar, or a Curlywurly) that has been in a very cold fridge for an hour or two - quite firm, but it certainly won't unglue your fillings or anything like that. The decent level of firmness to this bar works very well - it makes you take your time over this healthier version of a usually naughty treat, you spend longer eating it (because your chewing it nicely, instead of gulping down a soft 'n' squishy Mars bar say) and you therefore savour the flavour longer... giving you time to get over your chocolate-craving-moment... so the "gimme chocolate or else!" moment has a chance to subside. Ladies (& gents!) a good buy in my book - the MyBar. I'm going to try the MyBar Caramel next :)

These bars taste really good. The sweetness is perfect. Not too sweet but sweet enough to fulfill those chocolate bar cravings. If you're a chocoholic like me then these bars are absolutely fab. You get an excellent protein intake and appease the chocolate cravings all in one go. I just cut the bar up into 4 or 5 small pieces (it cuts easily with a knife with no flakiness so no wastage) and wrap each piece in clingfilm, then enjoy a piece after a meal or whenever I feel the urge to satisfy my sweet tooth. I recommend this bar very highly for both it's protein content and it's taste. Well done MP, now let's have some more flavours.

I tried these bars the other day and was fairly impressed to be honest. They are very high in protein yet quite low in carbs, which is good from a bar and they are not full of rubbish. These bars are amazing! A competitor makes 'dark chocolate orange' bars for £2 each which are awful. The flavour is overpowering, especially the dark chocolate. These bars are fantastic though. They are nice and chewy with a subtle chocolate orange flavour. I'll be ordering more. 5/5
