Overview

Instant Oats are a fantastic source of low Glycemic Index (GI) carbohydrates ideal for fuelling your exercise routine.

We have sourced the very finest Scottish Oats and milled them down in to an ultra fine powder to provide a slow release, low GI carbohydrate which can be easily consumed as a drink when mixed with your preferred liquid.

Instant Oats are an extremely healthy source of carbohydrates as they provide a sustained flow of energy to the body. This makes them the ideal choice for anyone looking to fuel their exercise or simply boost their carbohydrate intake throughout the day. As a slowly absorbed form of carbohydrate, Instant Oats provide a less profound effect on blood sugar levels when compared to Dextrose or Maltodextrin. The ultra fine form makes them extremely convenient as they maintain all the nutrients and benefits of 'normal' oats, and they taste fantastic!

The versatility of Instant Oats allows you to add them to your existing supplement shake, consume them on their own or even add them to certain foods like yoghurt, smoothies and baked goods

Key Benefits

  • Excellent source of low GI carbohydrates
  • Perfect for bulking & as a source of energy

Awesome oats. Great taste. Use these during bulk to get thick, solid, tight. The oats are smooth, easily mixed and tasty. Best mixed with total protein banana, tastes like banana milkshake. Would purchase oats again. Cliffs: Awesome oats/10

Alot of these reviews complain about taste and mix-ability. I'm not sure what they've had in the past, but i used to solidly use Reflex products and i can assure anyone who uses those, the instant oats are by far better tasting. I mix my oats with the impact whey (toffee), wack in a bannana with it all, stick it in my smoothie maker and i have no complaints at all. For bulking, i cant fault it. Nice one MP!

I bought unflavoured and it is lumpy. Vigorous shaking will make the lumps disappear but a grainy/chalky residue remains. Think Im gonna throw the rest out.

i just add half a cup of this and five egg whites into a bowl, mix it and make into a pancake very effective not the greatest taste but with a drizzle of honey a very quality breakfast considering upping to a full cup and ten egg whites

I take these oats like i drink water, perfect for gaining muscle mass if you find eating endless amounts of food boring. obviously i exaggerated there with the water drinking but i have two scoops for breakfast with one scoop of true whey and then one scoop of oats and one scoop of protein twice more in the same day. although i watch my intake of calorie and carbs etc so if i find i've eaten too many of whatever i'll miss a shake or something. been taking these for about 5 months now and seen mega results, a must buy!!

Mixes really well with skimmed milk, tastes just like chocolate milkshake when I add Chocolate flavoured Impact Whey. However, not so great when mixed with water. So far, I am really happy with these products, and they are doing a great job of curbing my hunger for 2-3 hours.

add 300ml for a good mix, i got the vanilla flavoured one and it smells much better than it tastes! take 2-3 hours before working out for best results, before taking instant oats i could run 4/5k but when taking i can now run around 7/8k. also be prepared to sit on the toilet in the morning untill you get used to it!!

Mixes really well in 300ml of water. Perfect product to give you the carbohytrates boost. I personally mix it with Total protein, which means i can control how many carbs i want in my protein shake. Also good to replace deficit carbs from meals. I usually have meals which more protein and less carbs. I have instant oats afterwards to replace the missing carbs.

Just began my new Diet and using the suggested protein plan with the bulk up bundle and the unflavoured Instant oats does everything it says on the tin. I used 200ml of semi skimmed milk and a normal grid shaker a it mixed completely with no lumps. The one i have is unflavoured so doesnt taste that great on its own but i will try adding the suggested whey protein or nesquik to give it a little flavour. Look forward to seeing the gains. Great Value for money and great company

Could be better tasting, but I chug my shakes down pretty quick. So the slight floury taste isnt too bad for me. The best thing about this for myself is that combined with a protein shake 1st thing in the morning, gives a good amount of energy for my early morning workouts. Just placed my 2nd order.

Just had my first shake, didn't mix well at all, especially in the ball shaker. I had to pour it into one of my old shakers with the grid thing to strain the lumps. I can't comment on the taste as i've mixed it with whey but it doesn't go down well, the lumps make me gag. Poor.

Oats is the best carbs, low gi, high fibre, alot of calories, gained alot by taking it in. I bought the unflavoured at first i thought the taste was edible but i gradually couldnt take it. Bought the flavoured one same thing, after couple month then i couldnt take the taste anymore, i was dreading to take it. I have no idea how people are saying this mixes well, it doesnt. But if you can handle bad taste for a long time its a good product, my advise by 1-2.5kg see how it goes.

Just finished 1kg of chocolate.. taste and mix is excellent! when i dont want to use a shaker this stuff mixes perfectly with a fork, cup, and 200-300ml of milk. Results wise, i was struggling with calories, but after this (impact whey, oats and whey bars, and pre-workout dextrose and creatine - all from myprotien) i have added 5 pounds, 10kg on to my previosuly platue'd lifts, and generally have more energy, within four weeks..! and i have been training for over 4years! Myprotien you are excellent i highly recomend this product for those extra calories!

Really great way of getting in good quality carbs without any of the hassle of cooking. I mix the 2 scoops of the unflavoured oats with 1 scoop of flavoured whey protein. The oats taste pretty neutral, so it makes a great tasting milkshake. Highly recommended for hardgainers to pack in the extra calories through the day.

Mixes surprisingly well using the My Protein shaker and with around 250ml of milk the consistency is perfect, I use the non-flavoured oats and they taste great without the need for any added flavours. I am tempted to buy some Nesquik to mix with it as a treat though! Great product from a great company.

Excellent product at supermarket price. I buy unflavoured oats and mix 1 large MP scoop with 2 large MP scoops of flavoured impact whey and enough cold water to make a thin consistency. Delicious and quick. Taken at mid-morning and mid-afternoon, they make a brilliant healthy substitute for a normal unhealthy sandwich-and-crisps packed lunch!

Vanilla tastes great, and is a wonderfully easy source of calories. But I'm really put off from ordering more by the cost of the flavourings. At the time of writing, 5kg unflavoured is cheaper than 2.5kg with any flavour! Compared to most sources of flavour (e.g. a bottle of vanilla!), the cost here is ridiculous.

Taste is abosoluetely fine on its own with milk, taste texture is nothing to be put of by at all. In truth you will be suprised at how much you will like it. Now you add 2 scoops of impact blend (I have strawberry) 2 scoops of then the usual mixings of semi skimmed milk. That is one healthy consistent weightgainer you have there in your hands for very good value!! Two of these a day along with my PWO and usual protein meals and I hope to add good weight on this phase. Top service again MP ordered friday at my work by monday. Lovely jubbly!

Taste is abolutely fine, I would go so far as to say sometimes I even enjoy it. Definitely helps me to keep my weight on and is a quick fix if you don't have time to cook a full meal. I'll have 2 scoops of this up to 3 times a day and it helps keep me above 12 stone, otherwise my weight drops off quickly. Have recommended to a lot of friends, it's also dirt cheap considering how long it lasts.

Great stuff! I use this mostly first thing in the morning as I am in the gym at 7 / 7:30 in the morning. I found at this time in the morning it hard to swallow when mixed with just water (too thin) or just milk (too thick). With milk I could add more milk to thin it out abit but too much milk before training makes you feel a bit sick. I personally found a good taste texture with 100g oats, 30g total protein, 100ml semi-skimmed milk and 150ml water... goes down a treat and doesnt lie too long in my stomach either, so no sick feeling when training. Gives a good energy supply for my workout.

Bought this after over hearing a guy recommend it in the gym. I noticed his increases compared with mine and he was adamant that it was as a result of this product. I bought the 5kg bag and mix 2 scoops with 1 scoop of true whey chocolate. It actually tastes nice! I have it before the gym or as a mid morning snack on non-training days. You really do need to use the shaker with the ball in it. It just doesn't mix well with normal shakers or those with the plastic grid/mesh.

I brought this as an ideal product for my bulking phase. I didn't know what to expect but i thought it would be worth a try for price. Mixed well, smell isn't too bad, but the taste is sickening. I brought unflavoured... maybe thats where i went wrong, but i couldn't keep it down. Brought flavouring for it, but it really didnt help. If you can keep it down fair play to you, but sadly this product just was too revolting for me.

Good stuff, I have just ordered a 5kg bag of these oats after just finishing a 1kg bag I brought to try them out. Unflavoured tastes just like cold porridge. I have it mixed with 300ml skimmed milk and a tea spoon of honey and it tastes fine. Tried it with toffee flavoured Impact whey and it nearly made me sick though. Have to drink them separately now but will try a different flavour whey next time so as I only have to have one shake in the mornings.

Porridge makes me gag; That slimy, lumpy stodge is vile...On the other hand 100g of oats provide a heap of good quality carbs and pretty much 100% of your RDA of fibre. Step forward Instant Oats. This stuff is brilliant; for around half the price of, say, readybrek, you get a product you can mix with your protein shake, use it as a shake in it`s own right, or do what I do which is to add yoghurt and honey and mix to a thick paste, like baby food. I can`t give it a rating for flavour as I bought the unflavoured, but in all other respects it`s perfect.

I mix 2 scoops Instant Oats with 1 scoop Impact Whey Protein Choco Nut Flavour and use skimmed milk - perfect breakfast instead of the sugary cereal I used to eat. Has resulted in my daily sugar intake plummeting which is great to ditch those man boobs! Im not a fussy eater by any stretch so I think it tastes fine - a couple of lumps never hurt anyone. Get bigger arms/put more effort into shaking! Also user 1 scoop Oats and 1 scoop Protein with water as an afternoon snack to keep that metabolism ticking over. So cheap - dont delay buy today!!!

Basically a month ago i was hardly eating anything in the day, i am 6foot tall and very skinny. I got these instant oats to add to my breakfast. No lie in 1 month you can notice a huge difference. I buy the unflavoured oats 5KG bag, I don't see all the fuss about extra flavours just add strawberries or bananas or even chocolate powder. They mix perfect just use the MP shaker with the ball in. Also great before a work out as they release energy slowly. If your struggling to put weight on, believe me add these oats to your breakfast ( don't supplement this for your breakfast ) you will notice a huge difference, well i did and still am. Also want to thank MP for a great service, first time customer and defo will be returning

After years of trying to put down oatmeals which i really dislike i found my kind of product! It does not taste good but it is so mild i really do not care about it. Perfect for my breakfast. 500ml of water 2 scoops of this and 2 of total protein. Mixes well enough (provide you shake it good) i don't have any complaints. I buy unflavored since the protein powders i use at breakfast are flavored. I dislike strong flavors. However it is nice to use flavored powders to mask this otherwise not very likeable taste. Finally i can get to eat oats! Myprotein, thank you very much for this. Excellent source of low GI carbohydrates and fiber!

I recently decided to switch from Maltodextrin to Instant Oats and although maltodextrin is a lot sweeter (as it is a sugar) Instant Oats is a lot cheaper and also has a much low GI. Mixed with my protein (smooth chocolate) there does not seem to be any negative taste from the oats. However, the one thing i'll say is that although not bad, i actually really like it, the oats do add a noticeable texture to the shake. No longer like water it is a little thicker, certainly not lumpy or anything just noticeable. But i love it.

I feel like I'm just going with the flow in giving this product five stars, but I'm not sure where it is possible to mark it down. It's a good price (cheaper than brand name porridge oats), easy to work with (the slightly moist powder makes it easy to scoop), mixes well with other products and is easy to drink. I use two scoops of this with one scoop of whey choc and mint, one hour before a lunchtime workout and then again mid afternoon, and it's great stuff. And of course, Myprotein as a company are just as easy to deal with, with prompt answers to questions and fast delivery of products. And as a bonus, the delivery man gets a workout carrying all those kilo's of powder to my door!!

4/5 for me. Which was and is well worth the money spent!! If your after a bit of energy or trying to gain weight, the nutrition these Oats can provide in 1 convenient shaker is nothing less than impressive!! Originally I bought a bag of unflavoured, and was suprised by the taste, I actually found it to be quite nice (maybe just me). Later decided to buy Vanilla flavour and wasnt actually as nice as I imagined. Mixed with fruit in a blender, I cant think of anything tastier and healthier!!

Does not taste nice on it's own. I am mixing it with Total Protein Chocolate and it tastes fine. The stats are great but the texture is not. You can't down this one, not because of the taste but the texture or very "sandy" and "grity" and clogs the back of your throat. That said it should be about the taste as long as you can get it down you!

Great in a shake an hour or two pre-training if you can't get your hands on a meal. Also fantastic post session with whey protein and a spoonful of sugar. The slow releasing energy means you don't crash from a shake post workout and makes the oats a perfect stopgap before your big post workout meal. Unflavoured are perfectly tasty, but I'm biased because I love oats.

Excellent product. A staple in any diet plan/training regime ! Perfect for fueling those intense workouts. Tastes like muck and never really mixes properly, always has a grainy texture ! But I'm far from complaining. I don't think anyone buys supplements for their taste. If you find one that does taste nice chances are it isn't good for you :) The pricing is also ridiculously reasonable, I can't see how any profit is made from £9.99 for a 5 kg tub, that's like £0.002 per gram, amazing ! If people ever start snorting oats I'll be a very rich man :) I will be buying this again and again and again and probably again :)

I bought the unflavoured variety to add to my protein as a mid morning snack....No regrets at all, on it's own it has a mild porridge taste (it is milled oats after all!), mixed with something else, you won't even notice it. Like a couple of other reviews have said it does have a mildly sandy texture, but it's really not bad at all and I had no problems drinking it mixed with water, with milk it'll probably be even better. Finally you can't argue with the price!! so cheap why don't you already have some of this!!!

I mix this with unfavoured whey protein, 100% RAW. again the taste is nothing to worry about. tastes like milk if anything. Cheaper and your getting more nutrition when you go unfavoured. These oats are a brilliant way to add some low GI carbs to protein shakes (unlike the high GI maltodextrin that most branded weight gainers are laden with). I use about 50g in most of my protein shakes (along with maltodextrin in my post workout to increase creatine and protein absorption). It mixes relatively well, producing a slightly gritty texture which I quite like, although it does tend to settle at the bottom of the shaker after about a minute so get it down you quick! Mixed with unflavoured whey it tastes like porridge so no complaints there. Overall a great product at a great price.

I take a lot from these reviews so thought I'd better leave some. This product does what it says, but the sandy texture makes it hard for me to go back to them. After chucking in the microwave for two minutes, I ended up with what can only be described as uber thick chocolate fudge! I'm pedantic when it comes to experimenting with these shakes to get the best flavour and I've tried numerous combinations. Two scoops of unflavoured oats are disgusting, two scoops of chocolate flavoured oats are a bit better but far too sweet, however, one scoop of unflavoured with one scoop chocolate flavour is drinkable, which is the combo I now use. It actually tastes nice combining one scoop of either flavour oats with one scoop of MP True Whey chocolate flavour. I even tried adding my own Bournville cocoa powder to the unflavoured oats and it was AWFUL! MP obviously know what they're doing more than I do! ;-) From what I've heard, other powders on the market taste even worse so well done to MP in that respect! For the positives, the MP shaker mixes this stuff well, all MP stuff is VERY cheap compared with other brands (e.g., Maximuscle) and it FEELS like it's bulking me up... only been taking it for a few weeks though but I seem to have added a couple of pounds. My routine is now one scoop chocolate oats with one scoop unflavoured oats every morning, and one scoop chocolate MP True Whey with one scoop MP Hurricane XS after training. Will report back in a few months time!

I bought 5kg of the unflavoured instant oats and I am already planning on buying more. It mixes well with a good shake in the mixer and doesn't taste too bad. This is a great product for gaining mass because by adding it to your diet you get all the extra carbs and calories that you want. I have already gained weight from using this and impact whey protein 3 times a day. I'd recommend this to any bodybuilder.

I'v been taking this for a quite a while now and it's a good product all round. if you find it lumpy when mixing with protein then just add the oats first and shake for a while then add the protein and shake again, it always works for me. Keep up the good work MP.

unflavoured its ok.....some will have taste issues.... i tried with choc lately! REALLY AMAZING STUFF! i can eat it as it is! flavour on this product really transforming it! But for almost double the price for 1kg? As much as I liked the flavoured oats I believe its a waste of money when i compare it with the unflavoured ones....surely i m not gonna buy with flavour any time soon because of the price....so 5 stars for unflavoured, 2 stars for flavoured because of its value.

This is a superb product, mixes well with just about anything, helps protein shakes become more like creamy milk shakes. I have used this for some time now and as winter approaches will be combining it with maltodextrin to help bulking up phase, one review mentioned mixing with peanut butter, i disagree as i know most peanut butters contain the bad poor quality nuts , not good for your stomach. well done my protein.

This is a great product to include in your pwo shake, the only problem I have found is that it does not mix to well straight from the bag, to solve this I put it through a sieve and that ensures no lumps what so ever. Well done MP!
  • Excellent product (08/10/2009)
  • Review:
Good easily blended carb source which makes getting 300-400grams of carbs into you daily a lot easier. it also beats eating 500grams of porridge a day which very quickly becomes bland and sickening. for the guys complaining about lumps i reccomend they invest in a Braun 300 watt hand blender (not the ones with the holes in the sides of the umbrella which cover the blades which dont work).
  • Good product but sceptical of the GI... (16/09/2009)
  • Review:
These are amazing value for money and I think they taste great mixed with milk and some chocolate impact whey isolate. My favourite post workout shake.\n\nMy one concern with these is that I do not believe they are low GI as Myprotein state. Standard whole oats are at least 50 on the GI (medium GI) and with this being in a more bioavailable, flour-like form I would expect the GI to be even higher (70+). Try comparing the GI of Wheat with that of Wheat Flour to see what I mean.\n\nUntil Myprotein can get these tested and give a definitive answer to what the GI actually is then I would only use them in post workout shakes. If you want to use them as a meal replacement then I would look at Aktivated Barley instead as that does have a low GI as well as lots of other great nutrients.

I normally put my oats in a food processor and it comes out almost as fine as these, but it's not quite the same, as well as taking up a fair amount of time. \nI find that putting in 200g with 600ml of water doesn't taste too bad, and gives a decent amount of complex carbs to help me get the number of kcals i need for the day. \nGood job myprotein.

with normal oats, it will take your body time to break the oats down. wih these oats, due to them being fined down already, the break down is instant. you may feel abit drowsy due to your body breaking down the oats, after an hour or so, you'll feel full of gearing energy

Taste great, smell great, dissolve well and looking at the analysis nourish well also.\n\nThey leave me full but not bloated. I'm semi bulking at the moment so i have 50g with a shake for breakfast and 50g with both my pre and post workout shake. if you go with the full 100g with 30g of whey with milk you'll get something like 600 cals 40g of protien 85g of low GI carbs 10g of fats thats a good meal in itself! \n\nOrder these things you wont regret it
  • the taste..... (08/09/2009)
  • Review:
i normally laugh at people on these reviews who go "ooo it taste horrible". guess what? this tastes horrible! i can neck the CEE powder and the BCAA powder no problem - doesnt bother me. however, this is bad! if mixed with your protein shake it makes it taste horrible....the best way i have found to do it is not have 100g in one go - have 50g but more often. that way its bearable. as for the gains, yes it defo works and is a good source of carbs and gives bulk.
  • perfect (27/08/2009)
  • Review:
brilliant source of carbs. only slight downside is that being so finely milled they will digest a little faster than normal and so GI is raised slightly. however this is easily solved by having a smaller dose more often. overall, perfect for someone wanting to be able to control their intakes precisely.\nmixes well, tastes good, can add protein powders no problem. outstanding value for money. will be buying more in future

I baught 1kg of ultra fine oats, with the intention of adding it to my protein shakes when working. In some jobs it's just not possible to accommodate a 5/6 meal a day diet, so at snack times, one of these shakes gives a hit of protein and some slow burning carbs to keep energy consistant. I find the oats mix fine and taste great - so have just got me a 5kg bag to munch through. Thanks MyProtein!

  • Oat protein too! (26/06/2009)
  • Review:
Oat is the only cereal containing a globulin or legume -like protein, avenalin, as the major (80%) storage protein. Globulins are characterized by water solubility because of this property, oats may be turned into milk but not into bread. The more typical cereal proteins such as gluten and zein are prolamines. The minor protein of oat is a prolamine: avenin. \n\nOat protein is nearly equivalent in quality to soy protein, which has been shown by the World Health Organisation to be equal to meat, milk, and egg protein without the harmful levels of cholesterol often associated with animal based products. The protein content of the hull-less oat kernel groat ranges from 12–24%, the highest among cereals. Oat power stays with you, I swear by Oats if you want increased strength

I have to say that I am really surprised with this. After trying various carb drinks, all of which have such a sweet taste like putting a kilo of sugar in ur protein shake, I finally got this. I don't know any other webstore selling this, but it is brilliant. I use 2 scoops with 2 scoops of whey isolate from MP, and I have made the best weight gain drink in the planet. The isolate flavours a very vague when mixed with water. But add the UFSH it gives it a unique, fine taste. Not gritty as such, but more soft. I had bought the 1kg bag out of fear that I may not like it, as I found with the palatinose. But I will be getting the 5kg bag next time. Highly recommended. I could drink 5 or 6 of these "home made" weight gainers. And although I don't use the scales people have stated how I look a bit larger, in just 1 week. Excellent. I doubt that I will be using any other product combinations for protein/carbs. Maltodextrin, is now an outdated concept !!!!

It really is ultra fine, no home blender will do it like this. The price is pretty good in comparison to toehr bulk suppliers. The one thing is the taste, its very unusual, someone earlier described it as wallpaper paste? I would aggree with that. Home blended oats does not have this flavour.. Still, it s a smal quibble, mix 100g with a scoop or whey and it isn't half bad, I am using it to bulk

The oats are as fine as flour and mixes in your shakes really well, can't get normal oats blended this fine-just doesnt work. They do sink to the bottom though when left a while so just keep shaking as you drink them. I mix 100g oats with 350ml semi skim milk with 20g of protein = gives around 630cal, 35g pro, 90g carbs and 15g fat! I have it in the morning for breakfast (i can't stomach eating in the morning but i can handle this) and again mid afternoon and again on the night. Great for whatever your goals just adjust the amount, helps pack on size while keeping the fat low. A great source of carbs that provides you with sustained energy. Highly recommended

Truely excellent product. Why? The taste is good, its of actual oats. Mixes well to a thin shake with 600ml water, does require a swirl when reaching the bottom as it settles if left for too long before consumption, so drink fast after shaking. As for the effects, I have been on it for about 3 weeks, and the energy I have for the gym is brilliant, having a shake about 40-50 mins before is very beneficial, been able to do, not like massively much more, but had a bit more endurance on low weights and could squeeze a few more reps on the tough deadlifts and benchpress. Works well as both Pre and Post workout, although its generally better to have maltodextrin post workout as its fast digested and absorbed. Through and through, amazing product.

Been using these for 2 months now. I've found when trying to bulk up, most carbs just bloat me, Oats without a doubt are the best source of carbs i've used, I feel strong during work outs and seem to pack on mass without increasing inches around the mid section. I have 1/2 scoops of whey impact (chocolate, giving 20/40g protein)) and 2 scoops of oats (giving 60g carbs) with 300 ml of water, 3 - 4 times a day, with my meals. Mixes really well. Defo worth a try!! Tastes good, tried with normal oats from supermarket, believe me, doesn't work, just wont mix, cant get the oats fine enough.
