Overview

Beta Alanine is a non-essential amino acid that combines with L-Histidine to help form Carnosine. Beta Alanine elevates Carnosine concentration in muscles and is useful for anyone participating in sports which require explosive actions, for example sprinting, weight training or boxing.

Using Beta Alanine will help increase the production of Carnosine. Increasing the concentration of Carnosine in muscles is vital to athletes as Carnosine can increase the ability of your muscles to work harder and perform for longer. It may also prevent lactic acid build up during intense exercise, thus reducing fatigue.

Try adding 300mg of L-Histidine 45 minutes prior to exercise to further increase Carnosine production.

Warnings:
Beta alanine can cause a tingling and flushing effect on the skin. This is a perfectly normal reaction by the body and not harmful.

Key Benefits

  • May delay the onset of fatigue

I am mid-workout in my home gym.. just trying Beta-Alanine for the first time. Took 1.5g (in water with 5g Creatine Monohydrate, 3g Taurine, 5g Leucine). Got the beta alanine 'tingles'-sensation so I know it's working :) Wtf.. talk about PUMP and POWER. Can't say if it the beta alanine alone or the combo but I have never looked or felt so pumped. Lifting heavier for more reps and more sets. I like it a lot!! .and who cares about mixability. It's tasteless so just make a slush with juice or water in your shaker and gulp it.. right.. back to the bench ;)

Super cheap product for the benefits. A note - beta alanine does not have an instant effect, just like creatine you have to become saturated with it before you can feel the full benefits in the gym. take 3-6g pre-workout or anytime during the day it doesn't really matter. The only reason to take it Pre-workout is because of the tingles it gives you which for me anyway gives me a feeling like i've just taken a load of caffeine. The research done on beta alanine is also quite compelling and for the price you would be a fool not to take it: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/21659893

i got fed up with buying sh*t pre-workout supps so i decided 2 buy the raw ingredients and mix my own. im very unsensitive 2 stimulants so i have 2 use 4g's of this, along with the products i named tho plus oj and some sugar it gives u an unreal workout. just wish i didnt have 2 take so much tho, far better then buying a bulls**t "propietary blend" like every product on the market.
  • Goes well with which Myprotein products:
    AAKG, Caffeine & creatine.

I am sure this product would work if i gave it long enough. Tried it for two weeks but the pins & needles were to for me to keep interested. Do read carefully the instructions as on my first does I took 5gm and my word it was hot!!!!

This is a very useful product. It can help to prevent fatigue during strength training, making it easier for me to do technical lifts like power cleans, and snatches without early fatigue. The taste and texture are sugar-like. I have not mixed it with anything, as I just place it in my mouth and wash it down with water or tea. It works exceedingly well with BCAA's and creatine monohydrate. Highly recommended.

Creatine monohydrate, BCAA, ginseng, ginger, green tea, whole milk

This suppliment is a must for a boost of enegy in the gym, after a four week course, I feel like im purshing twice the weight on my week off it. When on it i feel fresh, motivated, and have good pumps in my work-out. If you take this suppliment for longer than 4 weeks the effects wear off and so it needs to be phased. It does leave a tingle feeling all over prior to it affecting you.

I know this works 'cos when I'm not using it I can see/feel the difference during workouts. Something I hadnt noticed before is that it also seems to help keep fat off somewhat which is a bonus.

I just wanted to comment on the tingles really. I've just bought a big pack of supps, tyrosine, caffeine, creapump, beta alanine, hmb and unflavoured whey. Took HMB (which i've used elsewhere and was awesome) and beta alanine at the same time. Forgot completely about the tingles, dug into my tuna omelette after and there we have it. Personally I like the effect, makes me raring to go

I love beta-alanine, its one of those supps that within 10 minutes you can tell whether you have the real deal or not. The tingles for me are key to knowing the genuineness of it, and myproteins honesty, which is, i might add, impecable.\n\nMuch more driven workout, more motivated, stronger and push harder. Top stuff

The Boost From Beta Alanine Is immense!! Would Deffinately recomend to anyone looking to push their workouts, the tingling is strange at 1st but after week or so its nothing, used bsn's no x-plode before, complete waste of money, i wont train without beta alanine again.

ok it does give weird pins and needles (which passes in around 15mins) - didn't get any headaches. But honestly my strength kept going up for the 4 weeks i was on it. No loading required it was instant extra strength. RECOMMEND!!!!! going on for 6 weeks next!

I use this for a month on - take week-10 days off. got same texture as sugar. the "tingle" wears off the more you take it and for those that try it first time it wears off in 10 minutes or so.

I've been using BA for about two months now and am ordering more. I've found it to be a very effective energy booster when adding 2g (which includes AAKG and creatine). Best of all, it's very cheap compared to other supps and doesn't taste too bad either. You get used to the pins & needles too.

Sure if I take more than 1/2 tsp I get pins and needles in my face. I don't see this as a good thing and it's certainly no indicator of any other, more positive, effects. Doesn't boost energy. Doesn't increase the weight lifted. Doesn't do anything useful. Creatine does work to an extent and is much cheaper.

Must say 1st time i took this supplement the tingly sensation i got was weird, almost uncomfortable mainly in my legs but after 5-10 mins it went away. Tingly hasnt been as intense rest of the time

This does exactly what the sales pitch says.\n\nThe effect has been very profound. I normaly get tired after 30 minutes or so when lifting weights, today I wanted to just lift more & more.\n\nAt the reccomended dosage, the so called 'tingles' were minor for me, just around my cheeks (facial ones!) and my forearms, only lasts for a few minutes.\n\n\nImpressive stuff, this is going at the top of my 'what supps can I afford next week' list :)\n\nHave a good one!\nTom\n\n

ok i'm not a body builder but i do exercise everyday. this stuff has definitely made exercising feel easier and more enjoyable...i can go further and seem to recover quicker. i mix mine with water and it's fine...and yes...there is one almighty tingle around 10 mins after taking it.

Great product, but really needs to be in a tablet/capsule. Since the effects of creatine are double with beta-alanine, you should take it with some CEE.\n\nMight be an idea for the myprotein guys to mix a sports supplement of beta alanine with CEE in one easy tab. Not that I am hinting towards anything!

Really good stuff to give to you that extra buzz and focus during a work out (i combine with taurine aswell tho) but i have noticed that not a lot people have eemphasised the slight side effect of the itching Beta Alanine can cause. I notice about 5-10 mins after taking it your whole body starts to go incredibely itchy and feels sort of like 'pins and needles' for about 15 mins, tho I can imagine this only happens to some people. Despite that, Really great stuff would definately recommend to a person on a budget looking for a focus enhancer

I take about 1.5-2g in fruit cordial 40 mins before my workout, along with my cee. after about 20 mins, it gives you a crazy tingling sensation from inside. I feel it helps a bit with endurance during workouts, e.g an extra rep or so on chins/bench.\r\n\r\nit's tastless, but comes in 'little crystals' and is difficult to dissolve. i have to add it to warm fruit cordial

I've been using beta Alanine for the past three weeks and have noticed that it allows me to train with increased intensity.\r\n\r\nFor the ultimate pre workout combination I combined with 2 grams of CEE and 3 Grams of AAKG.\r\n\r\nBuy it, you wont regret it.

Just wanted to let you all know how I've been getting on with beta - alanine.\r\nI've been taking 1.5 grams 4 times per day for the last 6 weeks.\r\nI have noticed a literally night and day difference in my training.\r\nI do high level judo 3 times per week for 1.5 hours at a time.\r\nI also do Olympic Weightlifting 3 times per week for stremgth and conditioning for judo.\r\nA typical weightlifting session for me would be\r\nSnatch 5 sets of 3\r\nClean & jerk 5 sets of 2\r\nFront Squats 3 sets of 3\r\nWeighted Pull ups 3 sets of 6.\r\n\r\nI have noticed now that I feel almost no lactic acid build up or burning at all in my training, even though I keep the rest periods short 1 min or less. As a result I no longer ever cut my sessions short due to fatigue, my work capacity is much higher.\r\nIn my judo training also I have noticed the same, we do 10 * 5 minute sparring rounds with 1 minute break often, Now I barely notice any lactic acid build up at all during training. Any minor discomfort I do feel is gone within the minute.\r\nThis is the first supplement I have ever taken where I have actually noticed a tangible difference after taking it. Try it and I promise you will notice a difference.
