I'm currently on a low carb diet to reduce BF% so was after a high protein low carb snack for inbetween meals. I often bought supermarket Jerky without thinking much about it however when comparing it to the MP Jerky. Not only was MP's cheaper per g Supermarket £1.99 - 25g, MP £2.09 (minus the multibuy discounts) for 50g, the MP Jerky has a higher percentage of protein crammed in as well. This is all good but I didnt expect it to taste as good, however I was very surprised. Bought the cajun hot, smokey and Teriyaki. Only tried the cajun hot so far and it was as nice if not nicer than the stuff I normally buy. Personally well impressed and once I get through the other 9 bags sure it will become a regular buy.

At first I didn't like it but then after 1 pack I enjoyed the taste, it makes me laugh how tough and thick it is, but it does feel me up as a snack and they are so good to take to work. I had the Orignal flavour but it was a bit spicy for me, so I've just ordered 7 packs of smoked flavour because it doesn't have any chilli in it. These are perfect for anyone trying to cut out sugary sweets, losing fat, on the go etc

I have been hooked on beef jerky since my brother in law gave me some before christmas but the price of any beef jerky has always put me off.. I've just stocked up on these on offer at £1.49 a bag. These taste as good as any competitors I have tried. If they could leave the price at £1.49 or offer a bulk discount to get close to this price I would continue buying otherwise it's back to cheaper competitors protein bars I'm afraid.

Taste and texture is fine. It's good and filling, so makes a good snack. however, there is a big drawback - the sodium nitrite preservative which is really bad for you. Given this ingredient, it's misleading to call this snack healthy. Shame really.

Worst beef jerky ever. 1- salt is not distributed well, some are VERY SALTY and some are not. 2- not sure about prime cut , so much chewer than other beef jerky and this one taste just like a liver which is bad. 3- not really healty, using unknown part of beef, high sodium; as in the product description. I like many products from myprotein.co.uk but not this one. I bought many sorts of products here and obviously anything made in here as snack or meal never be good. Only powder stuffs are good.

I ordered 1 of each flavor, i only ate cajun hot so far...OH MY GOD it's so good, has a nice heat to it and and tastes of peppers...i will need to try really hard to not order again (it's still a bit expensive for my wallet) but i'm very very impressed. It's not too hard to eat like some lower quality jerky sometimes are and is cut into nice small pieces.

Great tasting and amazing value for something so nutritional. To 'Steven Cantrell' who says " I dont think any jerky is a cheap snack when you compare it to a bar of chocolate..." that's like saying caffeine isn't as nice a high as freebasing heroine! Why would you be looking at a chocolate bar over a high protein low fat jerky snack?!

Bought this as an alternative to Beef Jerky you get in superstores. I ordered the smoked type and loved it, slightly smaller packet than I expected. The taste was great! I'm only just getting back into training so I can't comment on how it is for recovery but I would definitely recommend it as a snack.

I ordered a 1 pack of each flavour. I have to say that theremuch is not much between them. The cajun hot doesn't taste of much and isn't hot. The smoked isn't very smokey, the teryaki id fairly bland too. I would still buy them again though because the meet is less chewy than other brands and though quite bland, they don't taste bad.

whos the idiot who thinks 2.5g of salt per bag is crazy..? thats a maximum and its salt, not sodium. theres a huge difference. 2.5g of salt is 1g of sodium, considering a hard training athlete needs about 4-5g of sodium per day 1g really isnt a huge amount. if ur a couch potatoe then ye 1g is nearly half ur rda, but considering these products are geared towards athletes its fine. so long as u have a good diet u wont struggle to keep ur sodium under 5g/day.

LOVE THIS STUFF! Ive tried all the flavours and i have to say that cajun is a favourite if you like spice. Smoked is great too and tereyaki is amazing. Sometimes the pieces are a little thick and you need to really chew on it so watch your fillings and have a tooth pick ready for after you've devoured a pack!! I like to eat a packet as a pre bedtime snack along with a serving of casien and a serving of alpha men along with a super omega. Highly recommend this stuff - does exactly what is says on the tin!!!

True, it doesn't blow me away nor is it as tasty as some i've tasted whilst in the U.S. BUT all is made up for in the quality. Love this stuff. Best beef jerky I've managed to find in the UK. Decent sized pieces of beef, you feel like you've eaten something quite substantial, tastes nice (Classic, I'll try the Teryaki next). My only criticism is that it was a little salty - but at least it meant I kept hydrated!

MUCH better than the rubbery, plastic stuff you get in tescos or other places and with 25g of the good stuff per pack, you know its well sourced meat. WELL DONE MP

I have tried all three flavours and Classic is the best in my opinion. If any1 is thinking of trying this for their first time, be warned it can be like chewing leather sometimes. I eat a pack during every workout, loads of energy from it. Also handy having them around because it saves me being tempted to go out and buy fatty rubbish. Can take it anywhere, very convenient. No idea why the packet it comes in is so big, just makes the amount look small. Would like to say I can't fault it but I bought some "wild west" beef jerky from asda for the same price and it was alot nicer and easier to get down. I should have checked the nutrition to find out which is healthier.

This jerky is brilliant - I love the intense taste, the CHEWINESS, that it is low cal and high in protein. I can have a few pouches in my desk at work and sneak a bite to keep me going.\n\nI give it the 4.5 because I too would prefer each pouch to hold more jerky.

Bought 10 packs of the original after scouring the net for jerky. In the US couldn't get enough of the stuff, in great big bags, like kettle chips. This jerky though is nothing like that. Very salty and difficult to chew as very tough, even for dried meat. Doubt this is from prime cuts as I've found gristle in every bag I've opened. Eaten 3 bags now but wont eat the rest which is a shame. I was so looking forward to getting some proper beef jerky, I guess my search continues.\r\n

      --

\r\nMP: First of all we are sorry you don't like our Jerkys. Please note however, our Beef Jerkys have many less additives and preservatives added than the majority of US brands. We wanted to make our jerky as healthy as possible.

I ordered the Teriyaki flavour Beef Jerky and it was absolutely delicious. The quality of the beef is exceptional, not a single bit of gristle like someone else mentioned. The pack is quite small, it would be very easy to have 2 packs as 1 snack, which means that you would be paying nearly £4 for a snack. Shame it is so expensive, but I can understand why now. MP, if you can find any way of getting this price down I would buy loads more.

First of all, I am a big fan of beef jerky so couldn't wait to get my delivery of 20 bags of the original flavoured jerky. The postage was quick and I thought £36 for 20 x 50g bags was on the steep side but the quality guarantees outweighed this - after all you get what you pay for - don't you? \n\nFirst thing I noticed is the waste of packaging - what a ridiculous size of bag - it is literally 4 times the size it needs to be. The 50g of jerky is dwarfed by the packaging. In terms of how much you get in a pack you certainly will be disappointed at the quantity - a large guy like me is eating a whole bag in three "scoops" out of the bag.\n\nThe jerky itself is reasonably flavoursome albeit ridiculously salty. I can just about handle it but non jerky lovers may be surprised at just how salty is it. Everyone I have let sample it have screwed their face up at it and said it to be"too salty and strong flavoured."\n\nMy major problem with this jerky is the amount of gristly pieces I have been getting in every pack. At least 3 pieces per pack have been indefinitely chewable, unsavoury gristle. This really irks me as the package proudly proclaims the jerky is from "the best selected beef cuts." I am very disappointed with this and it has really spoilied my enjoyment as I am just waiting for the "chewy bit" in each pack (I've eaten 10 in total now.) \n\nOverall, I wouldn't recommend this jerky at all. I feel bad giving such a negative review, but by the same token I also feel other jerky lovers like me who have scoured the internet for a while looking for the best jerky out there should be warned about the poor nature of this product.

This jerky is great, much thicker (and therefore in my opinion, much better) than most jerky you get from a supermarket, and much tastier too.\n\nFor those wondering what the difference between 'original' and 'classic' are, they would probably be better named as 'plain' and 'peppered' respectively. The classic one is actually pretty peppery, I REALLY like it, but some might not.\n\nJerky is a fantastic snack high protien, low fat, low cal, etc. and this stuff is actually pretty good value compared to lots of other jerky, and basically nicer than any other jerky I've tried. \n\nOf course, if it could be even cheaper, I'd be even happier.

My normal brand of jerky comes from the supermarket, its normally found hanging in the "drinks" section. The packet screams about the quality of the product, they should hang their head in shame. Their over-dry tasteless, leatherlike product isn't a patch on this stuff. Its got a nice flavour, and smells edible! Even my wife who hates the stuff I buy in the supermarket likes the MyProtein version! Will be buying again!

This stuff is quite nice, having bought a packet of the Teriyaki as an extra to take my order to over £100 I was quite pleased with it, not too tough, loads of flavour and a good healty snack! \nWill probably give the other flavours a go next time, Its just a shame you dont get very much of it per pack. Worth a try, even if its just to see what its like.

This product is great. Low fat and tasty snack. I tried both the teriyaki and the classic flavours but I will be buying the classic from now on all the time.

Thought I would buy a pack with the few quid left over I had.\n\nA decent size packet, enough for a decent snack. Tasted great. No solid pieces. Was a great bit of beef aswell.\n\nDecent size pieces to stick in a little tub for a daily snack. Package it comes in, is also small enough to fit in a lunch box, bag or coat pocket

Tried all three flavours. Not a lot betwen them. I prefer classic. I find the stuff easy to chew and very juicy. For those complaining about having to chew - isn't chewing good for you. Most thing for sale on the MP site are shakeable and drinkable - looks like people forger how to use their teeth. This stuff is gorgeous. Wish I could buy bigger bulk for less money.

but the only down side is the salt content, it can be up to 5% which is 2.5grams, isnt that like half or all of your daily allowance? Positives, beats a protein bar any day, its pretty filling and u get all the right ratios of aminos as it's a meat product instead of udder powder.

I've been trying various jerkys for a while now, this one is by no means the worst but I would say that eating it is a work out in itself, for your face at least. The somewhat rigid texture aside, it tastes ok, Teriyaki doesn't taste like any Teriyaki I've had before so I think it's incorrectly labelled, the plain is alright. It's reasonably priced though, but I would have to say the best I've found yet is a brand at Tesco. It's sold in 25g packs at 99p each so 2 would equate to the same price and theoretically the same amount of protein, just with a better texture and taste and you can pick it up with your weekly shopping.\r\n

\r\nMP: Yes but there is lots of additives added to these types of Jerkys. We have added as little as possible.

Was hesitant to order this but I'm so glad I did. I always seen it mentioned on movies and the like and thought it was about time I tried it for myself.\r\n\r\nI don't know about classic and original as I ordered the Teriyaki flavour and my rating pertains to that. It is a bit leathery.. ok.. VERY leathery and tough but it just tastes so good! It tastes exactly like the red pepparami (the hot one from years ago) but not as hot. I just wish it was cheaper, then I'd buy a crapload! But it's good to see something so tasty be so good for you. I doubt I'll try the other flavours as I'd rather spend the money on this one!

This stuff does taste good and 25g of protein speaks for itself. But the only down side is you would want to sharpen up your teeth to get through it. Kinda leathery.\r\nBut we eat for results not the taste
