Overview

Our Impact Whey Isolate® is an extremely rich source of whey protein derived from vegetarian sweet cheese, sourced directly from the world’s leading whey protein manufacturers.

Whey Protein Isolate (WPI) is the ultimate form of whey protein, containing over 90% protein with very little fat and lactose. Having the highest Biological Value (BV) of any known protein, Whey Protein Isolate contains high levels of both essential and non-essential Amino Acids.

In the manufacture of our Impact Whey Isolate® we use Cross-Flow Micro-filtration, a delicate process, which uses filters to separate protein from fat, cholesterol and lactose based on molecular size and weight.

Impact Whey Isolate® provides over 90g of protein per 100g on a dry matter basis, is low in fat and lactose and rich in calcium. Our production methods help to preserve the biological activity of the whey protein ensuring all the immune-boosting components remain intact.

Traceability is a key part of our quality monitoring process and to aid this process we work directly with the world’s leading whey manufacturers to ensure we have complete knowledge and confidence in the production process of our whey protein.

The protein fractions are: 47% Beta lactoglobulin, 17% Alpha lactalbumin, 1.5% Bovine serum albumin,2% Immunoglobulin G, 0.5% Lactoferrin, 27% Glycomacropeptide.

Irish Cream ands Cherry Brandy

- (10 / Feb / 2014)

For reviews of the effectiveness check out the standard whey isolate, I'm just going to review the flavours. I bought both the Irish Cream Flavour and Cherry Brandy flavours. Both are white in colour, which I'm guessing this is just because it's a limited run for the Christmas period so they didn't put any colouring in. There might be some argument for the colour affecting our perseption of the flavour here. Irish Cream - Smells a lot like Baileys, but only tastes a bit like Baileys, but that could be due to the lack of whiskey after burn. works very well with milk making it very smooth tasting, although mixing with milk might negate the reasoning for buying whey isolate over whey concentrate for some people. I've tried it with coconut milk, from maggi powder, and with Blue Diamond unsweetened almond milk. It has a very slight chemically taste, which I've noticed with most Impact whey Isolate flavours, but mixing with less liquid seems to help with this. I've been using 200ml water or milk for this. Cherry Brandy - tastes like cherry drops sweets really, which I guess is kind of the point as it's a sugary (tasting) cherry flavour. Again the lack of alcohol burn leaves the flavour wanting in the accuracy of the flavour replication... I'm guessing there's no way to simulate that warming alcohol burn without actually using alcohol?! Not tried it with milk yet as I thought cherry Brandy and milk might be a bit weird, or just taste like cherry milkshake. Verdict: pretty good tasting, though maybe not accurately simulated flavours. Well worth buying though as they're cheaper than the standard whey isolate flavours at the moment of writing this. :)

Goes Well With:

Milk, Coconut Milk Powder, Almond Milk, Coconut Milk.

I swapped from impact deluxe blend whey to the isolate, and the first thing to notice is it didn't mix anywhere near as well as the deluxe (I have Christmas cherry brandy flav), but it does go down smooth with no lumps. It did however appear to give me better gains after 2 weeks and continues to be a better source for lean muscle gain. Best whey on the marker for effectiveness. I'll be sticking with the isolate, but will change the flavour for definite.

Goes Well With:
