Mixes well with milk tastes good. Cheap way to boost your protein
I use the unflavoured type because I can add it to my banana smoothie. Can have it with just water, tastes ok just don't think about it too much. Overall it's very good, very pleased with the purchase.Goes Well With:Milk, water, a banana and oat smoothie,
Good Product if starting out good taste
I'm a newbie to protein supplements and this product was the first of its kind I'd ever purchased. I had no real idea what to expect but imagined that as it was unflavoured, I wasn't exactly going to enjoy it. I was wrong! Mixed with water it's very palatable. For a creamier taste, try some semi-skimmed or whole milk ( calories permitting). Either way, I can only really describe it as drinking liquid vanilla ice cream. Add a couple of spoonfuls of milkshake flavouring and you can tailor it to your own preferences. Add to the fact that it does what its meant to do and delivers a large part of my daily protein needs at a very reasonable comparable price and this one for me is a real winner!
You have to try it! Super delicious way to add more protein to your diet! Very tasty, mixes well and is suitable for baking. Waiting for some more flavours.
This whey is one of the best ones that I've tried. It's tasty, mixes well and it's a great way to add more protein to your diet! Waiting for a bigger flavour range.
very good pruduct, great to up protein in daily diet
Tastes awesome, mixes well, everything you want and for a fantastic price. Such a shame a larger range of flavours aren't available - Currently working my way through (fairly quickly) 4 kilos of the stuff. Tastes good with water/milk/almondmilk/oats... everything you can imagine actually...
I'm new to all this protein shake stuff so didn't really know what to expect. Delivery was very quick, came next day even though I didnt pay for that service (ordered early). I accidentally ordered the Strawberry Cream which I tried initally with milk but it was too sweet. I found it best mixed with water and I was surprised how nice it was, just as good as a milkshake you could buy in the shops, very nice.Goes Well With:water
Overall good product, not as tasty as some I've had in the past but the excellent price more than makes up for it. Quick delivery and great service.
Excellent. Product got it cheap in the 10yr sale mixes well tastes great. Lower protein content but because of the price you can put 2/3 scoops in
Great value for money and taste, the flavor is very strong and it mixes well in my Shaker cup. Reccomend it to anyone who needs the extra boost of protein before after or during a workout. Whilst your reading this you should checkout my instagram fitness page- @doubleD_fitness Goes Well With:Almond milk and Oats
The taste is excellent and so is the quality! Well worth the money
I bought one pack to try and it is a good product even though it doesn't mix as well as Impact Whey. Due to slight worse mixability and taste than Impact Whey, I won't be buying this again.Goes Well With:creating, water or milk
Although the unflavoured version and mixability of it is not really that good, I do feel that changing from the no carbs version of the protein I used to consume is truly making a difference. I use it daily with my breakfast, be it with skim milk or low fat yoghurt, pre and post workout with water or skim milk. I would strongly advise you to go for the flavoured version though, since the smell and taste of the mixture + that it doesnt get completely dissolved, may turn your stomach upside down, unless of course you get used to it, like I did. If by any chance you still wanna go for the unflavoured version, try mixing it with something that has a sweet taste, like juice. It's a great and crucial supplement for anyone hitting the gym, from amateurs to professionals.Goes Well With:Milk, Water, Juice, Yoghurt.
Superb quality, taste & ease of mixing - need I say more?
Been using whey protein for about a year and jus started using this to put on the extra carbs, got unflavoured cos it's so much cheaper and you can mix this with much more like fruit juice rather than just water or milk. 10/10 Goes Well With:Water, milk, apple juice, fruit squash
Great value for money, and a great starter protein. I always have one shake for breakfast, and one after a workout.
I'm very happy with this product, I have had no problems with mixing it as I use a blender. Tastes good (smooth Chocolate flavour) will definitely be buying it again soon.
For cheap protein you can't fault it. Mixing seems to vary dependent on the amount of water/milk etc. used in the shaker and what else you throw in. Sometimes mixes great, other times a little clumpy, but put a bit more liquid in and get it down you.Goes Well With:Water/milk/almond milk.
Got this as it is very affordable and contains a decent amount of carbs as well as protein, good for getting a bit of extra energy before a workout.Goes Well With:milk, water, smoothie
Excellent, does excactly what it says on the tin!
I purchased the Strawberry flavor, previously had chocolate flavor. Taste: Average, tasted like strawberries but still a bit of chemically flavor which is bound to happen. Tastes good with milk however it becomes very thick like milkshake. Mixability: Pretty poor to be honest, even after a good few minutes shaking there were still clumps. Effectiveness: Noticed a size increase and it worked well, however I have a good diet. Overall: Good for starting out and on a budget however next time I'm going for at least 80% partly for the larger range of flavours but also the higher protein content and lower carbs.Goes Well With:Water or Milk
It's fine, it tastes great with milk and honey if I whizz it up in my blender, it has a nice taste even though this whey is unflavouredGoes Well With:whole, organic milk, and honey
Does the job and so far has been good as a pre and post workout. As a female it's good to see some muscle growth. I can't complain. Unflavoured isn't for everyone but you get used to it. Now I rather enjoy the taste.Goes Well With:Milk, water.
Mixes well with water and milk. Tastes a lot better than the strawberry flavour, especially if mixed with water. Mixes well but like others have said, some froth for a few minutes so as long as you prepare in advance no problems.Goes Well With:Water or milk
Came well packed. Mixes well using the shaker cup i bought along with it from My Protein. The taste isn't the best ive had, but it is very good nonetheless. Can be frothy sometimes, but this is a minor issue. Great product overall. As for effectiveness, it is too early to tell as yetGoes Well With:Milk
Excellent mix with water. Tastes great. Superb value. Works great too. 5 stars. Excellent. No more needs to be said. Goes Well With:Finest oats and water
Great product. Plain and simple, good for rebuilding muscles after a workout with decent quality protein and a nice side of carbs for energy. It mixes better than most powders I've had before, the taste is fine (strawberry), and I've noticed positive gains more with this protein than anything else I've tried. Big thumbs up, I'll be getting more of it very soon.
People complaining about the taste really need to try Hydrolyzed whey or even BCAA's or EAA's. Those are the most disgusting tasting things you could imagine. The taste is rather bland, kind of a milky taste tbh, I just mix it with water and drink it quite easily. The people complaining about the foam, simply add more water, you will have a lot less foam. next to none if the ratio is correct. A balanced ratio of carbs and protein which is a lot healthier than dextrose or simple carbs. The body needs a balance and this is a great 'snack' and after gym mix Goes Well With:water - lots of water to avoid foaming
Perfect protein for a beginner or training on a budget, mixes okay and the vanilla flavour is good. My protein proves once again the best value supplements on the market to suit all budgets.Goes Well With:Milk, creatine, bcaa
Does exactly what it says on the tin. Cheap, 60% protein. Ideal for a quick boost if you are struggling for food etc. Goes Well With:Milk / Water Glutamine, Creatine, BCAA
Best protein I have found I put it in a blender with oats, bananas, cocoa powder and ice then blitz it's the perfect shake for doing weights or when I go running! NiceGoes Well With:Milk, oats, bananas
This product does everything it says on the tin (or pouch). Very good value for money when you consider that other WPC products on the market produced by designer label sports nutrition companies are only a little above 70% protein yet three times the price. The only criticism would be the mixability which is poor. It will fully mix in a shaker cup after vigorous shaking but you're then with a foam that sits on top for about 10 minutes. If you try to just mix by whisking with a fork it just goes lumpy. Bottom line: great tasting, great value whey protein just be patient on the mixing front.Goes Well With:A shaker cup (and patience)
Artificial sweet taste also an artificial vanilla taste and it should mix better with milkGoes Well With:Water
First taste was abit funny, regret getting vanilla because it tastes awful so there wasn't any fun in the drink so just has to suck it in and drink it so won't get that again.Goes Well With:Milk
The best aspect of this powder is that it is the cheapest I was able to find online, and it's close to being as good as most others out there. It tastes good (I recommend Vanilla) but the mixing can vary; sometimes there are huge clumps left in my shaker, sometimes not, but there are always a few little grains left unmixed at the end. Also, the protein content (15g per scoop) is less than others I have tried in the past (up to 20g per scoop). Overall, good for the price, but you can find better for a bit more money if so inclined.Goes Well With:Tastes good with milk or water.
Got a 5kg bag unflavoured and finished it in just over a month. Mixes perfectly, tastes just like milk even when mixed with water. Can add flavours if needed. Noticed added mass right away. Mix it in with food! I made protein cakes with this stuff! Mix a shake and dump it on cereals. Mixes well with green drinks and loads of stuff, very versatile! Recommended!
I got 5KG of unflavoured essential whey 60 thinking I would be able to neck it! I was wrong! The taste is truly awful.
Good quality protein & carbs powder. I've used this religiously for a couple of months now and it does help with size/strength gains. If you use it 2-3 times a day, along with a good diet to support your muscle growth it'll definitely help you achieve your goals! I used the unflavoured option and added my own milkshake powder which works well and adds calories as it the milkshake powder is full of carbs. I just hope that My Protein bring out the same type of full-fat product i've concocted as I'm no too keen on sweeteners. Goes Well With:Milkshake powder, Whey Protein, Creatine.
I recently purchased unflavoured protein. Arrived on time. Great price but . Have not buying this product before I would not recommended it as unflavoured just does not taste nice.worth spending the extra few quid on a flavoured variety. Great products otherwise .
I found the essential whey 60 a good product for gaining weight due to the extra carbs and medium level of protein I have gained 5lbs over the last 2 months and don't look as skinny and weedy, it's mix ability is great and can mix well with milk or water and blend with banana of cocoa powder to add flavour if required, will buy again. Goes Well With:Milk or water, porridge blender with bannana or nesquick choco
I have changed to this after using an unflavoured soy protein and the taste is much better.
Essential Whey 60 seemed to separate and very frothy.
Great product! Did exactly what I wanted, gained 10lbs over 2 months and certainly noticed a difference.Goes Well With:Milk
I got passed the website address from some guys who have been buying some Whey products, they were using the Mass product as they were bodybuilding but for myself I needed something for my training ie boxing. I had lost a lot of weight but wanted to gain some back but not really change my diet so I bought some Essential Whey 60 which gives me the protein and carbs I needed. So far its working great as I am gaining weight and muscle not fat; I bought the Vanilla one which I mix 50/50 with semi skimmed milk and water. Great product and better still great customer service. Many thanks Ian (Tyson) Triggs.
Superb. Really enjoyed it, great product. Although I did find the chocolate flavor really quite sweet when mixed with water. And this is coming from a guy who likes 3 spoons of sugar in his tea! I'd still recommend it though. And I can't speak highly enough of My Protein, the only place I'd go for protein/fitness/health and well-being products.
I have decided to review the bit that mattered to me as much as I can, but the fact is I really can't. And then elaborated on the suggested review topics. Firstly, I'm pretty new to this protein shake stuff - in that I have had a few varieties over the years but not while the other variables are consistent. Right now I am eating, and I mean eating. I was 10 stone 3lbs 6 months ago and only started properly eating and training 3 months ago. I have used a different product for the first section and now I am using MyProtein, which I am about 1/3 of the way through. I'm now a heafty 11 stone 6lbs - the heaviest I have ever been. I think about half of the extra mass has come along in the last month or so, so probably half of that was gained under the influence of this product. So effectiveness? Who knows. I have 3 a day and I am gaining. But I also eat, today for example: porridge and a juice for breakfast, a shake, 5 roast potatoes and a portion of chicken, and an apple and banana - that's snack. After a quickie work out I had a corned beef and cheese toastie with thick bread plus a shake for lunch. A large bowl of rice and some grapes for an afternoon snack. Tonight after a work out I shall have a main meal, probably salmon and rice. And a shake. And if I can fit it in, a bowl of cereal an hour before bed. So I don't know if this works at all or how effective it is compared to other products. I was hoping to be about 13 stone by now but life apparently doesn't work that way - I think I naturally have the skinny gene.... What I can rate is mixability and taste . It's not great in full fat milk, bit lumpy and frothy. But it is pretty pleasant to drink. In water it mixes well, but tastes like I imagine licking a slug would taste, But hey, just knock it back and get going. I got the tasteless one for the extra protein, if I want a nice drink I'll grab a beer, but I'm on a mission here... I have found leaving it after a good shake for 5 minutes, just to sit (maybe give the occasional extra shake) gives it time to disolve better. If I'm in a hurry though, I'd just neck it in water. I gave 5 stars because it was well priced at about 40 bob for 5kg, plus I got 20 quid cashback (yet to be recieved but not expected yet). It's at least a placebo that keeps me focused, if not a great source of extra protein. It's just horrid enough to convince me it's good and my mates like it too. I would definitely buy it again.Goes Well With:Water. I have wondered about sprinkling some on my porridge - couldn't hurt right??
Excellent bang for your buck here. Mixes well and tastes great with milk.
In this day of protein obsession, 60% whey protein may sound inferior, well it's not. The complexities of building lean muscle require a balance, and this Essential Whey 60 is perfect for an after workout protein shake, probably delivering far more protein than your body can utilise in one go, but also delivering just as valuable carbs to replenish the glycogen lost in your muscles during your workout, and I would much rather have this source of carbs than maltodextrin/dextrose, so if you want to get bigger, or recover faster, get on this astonishing value-for-money whey protein 60, it's the best all in one you will ever need.Goes Well With:Water
