Amino Acids are complex chemicals that are the building blocks of protein, which are required for the creation of new tissue, and the repair of existing cells. An Essential Amino Acid cannot be synthesised or created by the body and therefore must be supplied from the diet.
The main essential amino acids required by the body are Leucine, Isoleucine, Valine, Lysine, Phenylalanine, Threonine, Histidine, Methionine, and Tryptophan. This has 5000mg of Leucine per 15g serving which is higher than the standard whey protein and has zero fat and carbohydrates.

This is exactly what I've been looking for. Been using for a few weeks now and could see the effects already. Able to work out more and my recovery time has improved dramatically. Highly recommend it. Tast is awful but mixing it with Cranberry juice does the trick for me. Also put the powder after pouring the juice. Do NOT mix with water. trust me.
Just mix this with veggie juices/fruit juices... it clumps a bit so I add water after. I find my energy levels are much higher. Been using it for the last 6 months. I highly recommend it.

One of the worst tasting Amino Acids I've ever had, although most of the unflavoured ones are unpleasant. Mixed it with MY PROTEIN WHEY and totally wrecked the normally amazing taste. Not sure what to mix it with, maybe a very powerful juice? Mixes very easily and well unlike many others I've tried that keep floating to the top like flour. Need some more time to really determine the results but from the ingredients I expect great results! Goes Well With:A very flavourful drink to cover the horrible taste.
First tried powder in my protein shake... bad move don't try. So next to avoid the horrible upset in my stomach I did this, took a big swig of my drink keeping liquid in mouth then topping up scoop and emptying it in mouth then a quick mix in mouth and gulp it. No horrid taste no queezy stomach and all the benefits. Seems to be working my system a bit better though shoulders mostly when working out seem to get a build up of lactic acid a bit faster than normal now

i have been using this for a month now, and have noticed less aching the next day and slight gains. i needed something new in my diet as i hit a plateau, so i turned to EAA's. i take this pre workout stacked with MyProtein caffeine powder and it prevents my energy levels dropping during training. highly recommend, but the taste is rancid. hold your nose when drinking it with a little bit of water.Goes Well With:water

Taste is horrid, really bad, and it doesn't mix very well either, BUT, once you manage to get it down you, the effect is HUGE. Great recovery during and after workout, even a long heavy one. I am amazed in times how much stamina I have in me.. can't live without it, but wow i wish it did not taste so bad. I found that if I mix it with beetroot juice its more or less drinkable, with anything else its just too overpowering. Goes Well With:Beetroot juice

Higher doses (above 5g pre + 5g post workout) give me slight headache, sam as glutamine. So I'm taking it in smaller doses til my body adjusts to it. So far it works. I'm getting a lot less muscle soreness after working out. Mixes perfectly with everything. Tastes like cacao but not so bitter. Really great when mixed with hemp protein. Ok the taste of this is disgusting. I'm known for drinking cod liver oil straight from the bottle and having no complaints. The problem is that it is slightly metallic tasting and extremely bitter, the best thing to do is to mix it with some water and orange squash, sugar free and shake it up in a bottle. Leave it for a minute or two and then shake again and consume. Presto! I can't taste the amino Acids anymore and it's great as a PW shake. Goes Well With:Orange squash -sugar free and water

Most people complain about this due to it's taste. The problem is everyone seems to try and mix it with something sweet. What I do is make a kind of soup with it. I'm vegan and use pea protein and EAA, both of which don't taste great or mix well. I mix the protein and EAA with herbs, spices, vegetable gravy granules and yeast extract and pour in some boiling water. This makes a lovely spicy pea soup that tastes great and is jam packed with not only protein but lots of other healthy benefits from the herbs and spices. This Essential Amino Acids powder is disgusting. I am used to a pretty bland protein powder that I mix with a little orange and chop my breakfast fruit on. This is bitter and doesn't mix and makes my breakfast taste terrible.

The Essential Amino Acids tastes awful. It mixes well with boiling water when you leave it. I personally use boiling water with squash and mix and stir it profusely then leave it for 5 minutes, mix again and hey presto you can drink it. After my workout, I just throw it in my water bottle, run the hot water, shake it and drink it straight down. It will never taste good as it is really bitter, but I have got very used to it now. Essential Amino Acids are excellent value for money, I bought this product and within a week I noticed the benefits. I bought unflavored and mixed it with Myprotein's BCAA, LGlutamine, creatine and their whey protein. Taste wise it's better with juice or applied to a protein. Essential Amino Acids are very hard to take with just milk or water. The best way I found so far is mixing it in to a zero fat shape delight yogurt. It's still not nice but you can eat it.
Yes, Essential Amino Acids taste foul when just mixed with water. Yes, it takes a long time to dissolve (about 10 minutes). But taste can be offset with something else (I take a mouthful of orange juice after downing the aminos) and in the two weeks I've been taking this product, already I can feel that I've gained muscle and strength. I initially bought 250g to try, and just ordered another 500g.Goes Well With:Whey protein and creatine gluconate - all together it makes a turbo-boosted post-workout shake!
I mix this with my morning shake and also with my intra work out one. It mixes very well and whilst it does need the additon of flavouring once again is well worth the effort. I notice a fairly immediate increase in fullness whilst training and enjoy being safe in the knowlwedge that I'm well covered for all my aminos. I'll never prove it but my current contest prep would not be the same without this product and I've no doubt I am preserving prescious muscle whilst carbs are low. I bought this Essential Amino Acids to go with my Pulse V4 pre workout and then with my hurricane XS recovery shake. It's a great product and I can feel the difference, the only down side is it doesn't taste very good and can be hard to mix if using with pre or post workout shakes. Love the Essential Amino Acids. I have noticed lean definition and increased strength. It doesn't taste very well on its own, but you don't really taste it if mixed with a whey protein shake or juice. I would highly recommend this product.
I mix my Essential Amino Acids my whey protein. It stays gritty and doesn't mix well, but it's better than just mixing with water as it just sits on the top. It tastes foul on its own also but with my protein shake I can't taste it! I bought these Essential Amino Acids on recommendation of a friend. It has a bit of everything that I need in it so I don't have to pay out for several other amino acid products. I consume it in my shakes before and after a training session, I also mix it with an early cup of coffee. This is my first time trying the powdered form of Essential Amino Acids, it didn't taste too bad and mixed well. The results are showing well, what a great price as well. I'm ordering more soon.
Overall, I would say Essential Amino Acids is a very good product, the taste isn't great but when mixed with other blends of protein it's not too bad. I made big gains and have increased my personal best, I believe that this contributed to it. Good product!
I took the Essential Amino Acids because they are vegan, and I believed it would be a better taste than pea protein, but I was wrong. To mix them you need to warm the water like you make a tea, there is not another way, with cold water just forget it, you will shake until the end of times with no result. As about the taste it is really horrible, it is just like waste with puke... The only way that i can drink them is putting the juice of half lemon and 3 tea spoons of sugar, and I hate sugar but there is no other way, that way it is drinkable... The results in the work out are very good, its worth the trouble. I can lift easier, with more aggression specially now that i am on a diet... Overall, they do the job but there is something to be done about the taste Goes Well With:Lemon juice and sugar

I've tried a few amino acids now and these do the job fine. Try mixing it 30 minutes before with dextrose powder and it does dissolve better. The earlier you mix it the better it is I find! As for taste, it's not the best!Goes Well With:dextrose and impact whey
Yes, Essential Amino Acids taste horrible. When I first mixed it (well, tried and failed) into a glass of water, I was horrified. However, I now get a mug of hot water straight out of the kettle, leave it to cool for a minute or two, dissolve and stir in one scoop at a time, then add a fair bit of orange squash and a dash of sweetener. It dissolves well in the hot water and the squash masks the taste/smell pretty well. It still sends a shiver down my spine when downing it but it's perfectly drinkable.It goes well with: hot water and orange squash.
I bought this Essential Amino Acids anyway even after reading about the bad taste and mixability. I can honestly say that it is the worst tasting thing (well not the taste but the bitterness) I have had in a long time and it doesn't mix at all. First time use was in a protein shake and it destroyed the shake completely, it came back up and quick as it went down. I decided to try it with some orange juice (not squash) as that is quite bitter anyway and thought that might mask the horrible bitterness of this, and I have to say it did wonders. I didn't get any nasty taste whatsoever (was just like drinking the orange juice all on its own) however the mixability was still rubbish. I only use a tiny amount of orange juice and then a little bit more to swill the glass out and it all goes down like a treat. So for those who have problems with the taste just put it in orange juice and there will be no problems trust me! Plus now that I can drink it, it works pretty well, and I've noticed better gains and a slightly faster recovery time. I would give this 5 stars if only it didn't ruin the taste of a shake and the hassle of it not mixing so well. I can't complain, it's not supposed to taste like something you find in a fine restaurant, just get it down and it does the job!
If you're expecting the Essential Amino Acids to taste like anything half decent then I'd say turn away now. It does its job but you just have to mix it up a few hours before with some sugar free dilute! It's not pleasant but what were you expecting?
"Just wanted to review the taste thing everyone is on about. Yes, it is not nice at all. I tried it with cold water, and it did indeed smell awful, and would not mix in or dissolve, and it did taste pretty gross, but I have had worse! HOWEVER, guy at my gym said to put it into hot water, so I did. BIG improvement! Use hot water, and it does dissolve after a short time mixing/stiring. I then added some cold to make it a drinkable temperature, and noticed the smell was no way near as bad, and the taste was MUCH better, not really noticable at all if you just drink it all in one go. Not sure how effective it will prove to be as only been on it a week, but heard good things off others."

I don't get what the problem is with the taste. And who says it doesn't mix with water. It mixes instantly and with out added sucralose or aspartame you do your brain some good. I think that this is a great product.

"I was using a competitor product which is ranted about as being the bomb of recovery and protein synthesis in the natural body building world and it £50 a tub. It is about 1kg in weight but you only get 7,000 mg of EAA per scoop. With this stuff you get 15,000 mg of EAA and i would imaging in the right breakdown. You would be missing out not to buy this and assist your body in promoting in the recovery and anti catabolic / anobolic environmet you need without all the effort it takes to breakdown whey into EAA. You would need over 6 servings of whey to 1 serving of this stuff to release the same amount of EAA into your blood. This shit works. Best way to take it is in a my protein mixer with the metal mixing balls in shake well drink down then add somemore water so not to waste the dreggs and drink the rest. Then get on with it."
"Very disappointed with this product. Like many, I opt to supplement with free form BCAA and EAA products. Bad taste, unfortunately comes with this territory, however this product literally will not mix or dissolve in water and therefore its awful tastw cannot be disguised - as whatever you attempt to mix with, you are still left with a layer of gritty foam on top. absolutley amazing product. All I do is wrap it in a spinach leaf (or you could wrap it in rolling paper) and swallow it straight away. This way it doesnt even touch your tongue.

"Was between this and BCAA's. Chose this because it contains BCAA's along with other essential amino acids as the name suggests. If our body is defiicnet in any one of these amino acids, your body breaks muscle to obtain them. To keep it simple Im just providing my body with amino acids and lifting weights, Ill leave the rest to my body, no need to interfere by ingesting too much of one type. Trust me our bodies are very clever and as long as I keep providing Im sure theyll do a good job of building me lean muscle."

Been using this for a couple of months now. Smells bad and if taken with water tastes bad too. So mix it with any kind of fruit juice and it's fine. I also mix it with impact weight gainer unflavoured with milk and it's fine and all mixes well. .Reading the recent comment on aching elbow joints i've noticed my knees and elbows aching also. Not sure if it's from the workouts as i've been lifting a lot more recently as my recovery time has reduced with this stuff but i don't care what it's from it's worth it. Man up... KC
"This product is great for post workout ... if I take this in the evening I wake up with my muscles hard and feeling pumped.. as opposed to soft and broken. That makes it a no-brainer that it works. Taste considerations are secondary to the effectiveness of the product ... I do what some people have suggested; pile a tablespoon of it on my tongue and wash down with a drink or protein shake, can't taste it, doesn't taint your shakes this way and it's gone in under 5 seconds ... I actually think trying to mix it in a drink brings out the smell and flavour people have been complaining about. My only negative is that I feel like my elbow joints ache a bit if I take a lot. But yeah, they are great for me, which is why I come to this site. Thanks MP"
"I don't understand all these comments about the taste - firstly, it's not that bad, and secondly, it's not important. How good is it? That's what we need to know. For me as a vegetarian, it's a useful source of protein other than just dairy and eggs. I'd like to know how MP came up with the formula, though. Protein has 3.2g of Leucine, and 700mg of Tryptophan in 25g (whey protein). So why 5g of Leucine, but only 200mg of Tryptophan in this product? Is 15g equivalent to 15g of protein/25g or more?"
"well i read many reviews on this before buying all saying the taste is awful, and tbh when i got my first batch and opened the packet and smelt, i was a bit reluctant, luckily my american friend was beside me and told me it just smelt of maple syrup, which strangely it did, so i added it to my shake and it tasted fine and mixed extremely well, naturally there was a mild aftertaste but nothing as extreme as everyone else has been saying, besides its for your own good, so man up and get it down ya! yet another great product from MP....god i love this site.....XD"

After wasting a measure in a glass of water and trying to mix it (total disaster) I resorted to an alternative method of ingesting it. Neat on a spoon and down the hatch. Washed down with a flavoured shake the taste very quickly disappeared. I have no idea on results yet but will post any updates. Taste is acceptable but could with a little something to make life easier."
"This really is the best stuff for building lean muscle tissue without getting fat, faster recovery and reduced muscle soreness (DMS). I do laugh at the other posts where people also suffer from the horrid taste. At least I know I'm not the only one! "Research has shown that this stuff is incredible for gains, I ordered a batch and took my first 10grams today within pre-workout shake, the taste is very very unpleasant, I'd rather soak *** through a soak and I'm not kidding, I gagged and couldn't finish the shake, leaving me with a rotten aftertaste all workout, I'm not sure and will need to find the best way to take this stuff as I've got loads to take."

The taste is strange and very unpleasant, the way ive found best is to do 7-8mg pre workout with high concentrate cordial and 150ml water and pin the nose, same for post work out. I have tried it with my Protein blend but makes the whole thing taste bad so best taken seperately for me."

"Only just received these and tried it once or twice, doesnt mix well at all and tastes foul, tried it in with my usual milkshake an mixes in better but ruins the flavor SO i take it seperate, same as everyone else, hold your nose and down it then follow with something nice like orange juice to cover taste an then unplug nose, cant be doing this for the whole bag tho SO im gonna buy the pill kit and see how it goes, not tried training with these yet so will keep posted, i wouldnt suggest for beginers or fussy people, go for the tablets"
"I'd agree the taste isn't too clever, tastes very organic! Just neck it, it's gone within 20 seconds, it aint gonna kill you! Take mine within minutes of finishing training. Nothing added just water. I seem top have great recovery with little soreness. Would recommend this."
"These taste awful.\n\nReally really bad.\n\nI just downed 15g, I tried to make them taste nicer with a little Maple Syrup (10g). This DOES NOT WORK. Felt as though I was about to regurgitate the lot into my sink.\n\nI find the best way is to down the lot in one go, no point prolonging the agony.\n\nSince taking them they have helped my strength gains noticeably so they seem to work. No sign of them killing DOMS though, but hey, no pain, no gain!"

Needed if lifting big. simple.\n\nIf the taste is too bad for you, try mixing with 500ml of water and 2 scoops MP max whey.\n\nThis kind of stuff is just too hard to drink on its own and it needs to go with some whey or capped to make you keep taking them.\n\nWhen will they be back in stock?"
They did decrease my recovery time but it tastes absolutely revolting to the point where I can only just get it down without gagging. If anyone's got any tips on making it more palateable please post them up!!!
EAA's are superb when used pre workout (5-10g) with some fast carbs (dextrose/maltodextrin - 20-30g) for improving recovery and reducing DOMS.\n\nCombining them with BCAA's and Leucine post workout also works very well. The only criticism is the taste which is quite bitter.
"This is my silver bullet, incredible recovery, DOMS disapeared training intensity increased, body fat decreased : 10 grams pre 10 grams post with 500 ml of water on training days, 20 grams dispatched between my meals for the days off. if I had only 1 supplement to buy it would be EAA."
