DMAE is made from natural sources, and can be found in small amounts in many different oily fish such as sardines. It contains two main active ingredients, 2-dimethylaminoethanol, and dimethylethanolamine. These are naturally occurring precursors of the compound Choline.

I've used this compound in capsules I've taken for several years - and I swear by it as a useful 'nootropic' (brain-power enhancing compound). I make capsules containing: phosphatidyl serine, DMAE, glucoronolactone and DHEA. Several of my friends and I take these and the improvements in our mental acuteness has been marked! Just a little word from a chemist, though. When you say: "It contains two main active ingredients, 2-dimethylaminoethanol, and dimethylethanolamine." I'm afraid you have misunderstood! They are both the *same* chemical - (CH3)2NCH2CH2OH. There are simply several valid ways to call it. :)

I had some experience with DMAE. On the first day I have got headache from the product. I started with a high dose. It should start with a quarter teaspoon or less and gradually increase the quantity. I felt more energy and better concentration after 2 days. It's really good stuff, but it does not replace protein or carb, but work very well with them.Goes Well With:It's very sour so goes well with juice.
