L Theanine is a naturally occurring amino acid that can be found in small quantities in a variety of foods. For maximum benefits however, it is necessary to supplement the diet with additional sources of L Theanine in order to enjoy its full effects. Although L Theanine is found in green tea it does not contain caffeine. L Theanine powder contains 100% L Theanine.
For anyone engaged in a long term physical training plan, getting the right dietary balance is absolutely essential. The body requires the right kind of nutrients in order to perform and develop correctly, and whether these come from food or from supplements, they are needed for many purposes. As a dietary supplement we recommend consuming 200mg, 1 to 2 times daily.
Add your preferred amount of water or fruit juice into our shaker. Then add 200mg, shake and consume. Use 1-2 times daily. Best consumed on an empty stomach.

This product makes me feel blunt when taken alone but when mixed with alcar and guarana its pure magic. It makes me happy, careless full of mental power but please do not over do it or u may have problem falling asleep. Miscibility is poor. I've been using L Theanine for several years now to help with my anxiety and sleeping problems. I first found out about Theanine because Japanese green teas like Gyokuro contain *a lot* of it - so much so that you can actually taste it. I drink a lot of speciality imported green tea which has always helped me to relax, so I thought I'd venture into Theanine. The taste is amazing, very much like Gyokuro but without the caffeine. Mixability is fine, I usually have 1/4 to 1/2 a MP small scoop (a lot!) which dissolves with a few shakes, or within moments of stirring into a hot drink. As for the effectiveness; I find that the larger the dose, the quicker the effects seem to appear - usually it takes about 30-40 mins for the effects to become noticeable, but it's not as if it hits you, you just realise that you've been really calm and focused for the last 10 minutess, etc. It seems to allow me to concentrate on things better, which helps with studying. It's also great before bed as it helps me get to sleep quicker and my quality of sleep seems to also improve. I once tried a mega dose of a heaped MP small scoop, which after 30 minutes gave me the same kind of headache you get from an Acetylcholine deficiency (for the Notropic users out there who'll understand) - a kind of headache that appears at the front of your forehead, feels kind of 'cold' and lasts for an hour or so. After that, I don't think i was ever so mellow and laid back in my life before. For anyone with anxiety issues, it definitely helps me, so I'd recommend trying it. I cap it and take a cap along with a strong cup of Japanese Kabusecha before meetings with clients or my boss, and the difference to the times I forget to do that is really noticable!Goes Well With:Premium green teas. I've tried all sorts of suppliments on MP, most of them are probably a con, but have found that L theanine actually makes me feel a lot more stable and less anxious. I am able to drink coffee without getting edgy, able to be in a stressfull enviroment without feelijng on edge and am able to focus a lot better on my work. I also sleep better and longer having taken 2-3 200 mg doses of it and seemingly dream more (deeper rem sleep).. Would wholly recommend this if you've got anxiety / easily stressed. The taste and mixability are poor but the serving is so small it doesn't matter. Very good product, really helps me sleep at night and makes me feel so much more relaxed when i am in bed and going to sleep. I also feel fuller within my muscles, this may be due to the T-Matrix i am taking as well. But either way this is a sound product to invest it!Goes Well With:T-Matrix

For someone who had cut out caffine except for about 4 coffee's a week, when i do have something caffinated i am so sensitive to it and jittery etc. I bought this to help me relax and get early off to sleep if i need to get up early for gym. I can 100% say this worked for me, almost too much! I am knackered after taking it before bed and have decided only to take it the night before my rest day as I'm finding it potant stuff!Goes Well With:It's tastless and just displves in water. Doesn't have any effect what so ever. Have tried double the amount recommended on the packet but is totally ineffective as a relaxant. I'm just holding on to the idea that it might actually be good for me. Goes Well With:Valium
I've been using this L Theanine daily for 2 weeks now, I've taken it with caffeine pro on a few days and had amazing results. This Improved my concentration massively and I felt calm while working, rather than buzzing from caffeine like I used to. I take L Theanine with my green tea extract, at a ratio of 2 green tea extract to 1 theanine. I have no problems at all with jitteryness from GTE, and it also doesn't affect my sleep. It's really good for stress and anxiety, too. Goes Well With:green tea extract
I use this L Theanine to help me with stress-related sleep problems. I take a teaspoon of it with 2 ZMA. I've tried pretty much everything from herbal remedies to prescription tranquilizers. This is the only thing that actually makes a noticeable difference without the side effects of tranquilisers. While browsing the net for a way to help me sleep better after giving up smoking, I came across some information that said green tea has a calming effect and may help to give me a more restful nights sleep. So upon further research I found that one of the key ingredients in it was L -Theanine, so being someone who has done weight training on and off over the last 25 years I took a wander through Myprotein's site to see if this amino was available in its neat form and found to my delight that it was. Hence I purchased some and started using it every day, in my opinion as far as the calming effects it is a winner. My sleep has become restful again and my training is now more focused and along with some other supplements I use from Myprotein my progress in the last three weeks has been noticeable. "I have started using another supplement which is very high in caffeine. As I only get to do my workouts around 6pm I don't want to still be buzzing at bed time. The other supplement was giving me really bad jitters. However, the inclusion of a bit of this with the caffeine product, a bit in a drink after my workout and a bit before bed is really doing the trick. I am probably using about 300mg in total split 3 ways. Certainly seems to do the job and you can smuggle it into a drink without noticing it (apart from it floating a bit on the surface)."
