cold sore relief

Until I discovered L Lysine I got cold sores regularly. Now I take 1/4 teaspoon (measuring spoon) of lysine every day in water, on an empty stomach. The virus never leaves your body, but lysine helps prevent the virus from becoming active. The 250g pouch lasts a year! It doesn't mix easily, but it is tasteless, so that doesn't matter.

immune support

It's freezing outside and my immune system is keeping up. When other people get sick, I just up my dose and will be OK. The powder itself won't mix well and the taste is unpleasant (weak taste but I don't like it). BTW, you should add to every amino acid description on the site that amino acids shouldn't be used in protein shakes. Individual amino acids need to be takes separatelly from other amino acids/protein because they compete for absorption.
Goes Well With:
with NOT protein

"In addition to keeping your immune system topped up against viruses, adding a small scoop of lysine to your rice protein powder is a simple way to make the amino acid profile complete. The main limiting amino acid in rice protein is lysine."

"If you suffer from cold sores then L-Lysine is indeed essential. Herpes thrives on some aminos which can be found in high levels in oats, whole wheat, caffeine, chocolate etc, so don't be surprised if you're suffering more on your bodybuilding diet.\n\nLuckily L-Lysine suppreses levels these other aminos and if taken at a high enough dose (approx 1250mg/day) you'll find this dramatically reduces the number of outbreaks you suffer from."

100% L-Lysine

Packet is easily delivered, e.g. if we are out of house. I trust from the nutritional science that it is effective in complementing a (nearly) vegetarian dietm supplying the one "essential" amino acid that is in short supply in plant-based proteins. Therefore pulses, nuts, grains can be raised to first-grade protein by adding Lysine. That's what I ahve been given to understand anyway! I calcualted that 2.5 grams per day will make a full day's protein intake for an active athlete.
Goes Well With:
HEMP protein powder - its slightly salty, savoury tase makes the HEMP taste better. It could be sprinkled on any hot meal instead of salt.

Carnitine is made from Lysine. This helped me boost my carnitine levels and increase my energy

Prevents cold sores

Prevents cold sores and actually does work but does not taste good when mixed with water - but with squash or a flavoured bcaa ( I use tropical mango) it works fine and cannot taste it at all

Good product

I haven't been taking this product long enough to see the full effects it has on my body, but so far so good. I take the product first thing in the morning and use it to wash down my other vitamins, in a quarter- full cup of water. It mixes relatively well and is completely tasteless, which is great!
