Exceed is an advanced blend of amino acids devised to promote energy production, increase strength and endurance, enhance the recovery process and boost lean growth. The scientifically proven 2:1:1 ratio of Branched Chain Amino Acids (L Leucine, L Isoleucine and L Valine) and the presence of Beta Alanine, a key amino acid and Citrulline Malate help generate a tissue building environment optimal for building lean mass whilst enhancing exercise capacity.
Several studies have proven Branched Chain Amino Acids (BCAAs) can have a beneficial effect on performance; reducing fatigue and raising energy levels. By limiting levels of tryptophan (an amino acid that can cause the sensation of fatigue in the brain), BCAAs can help maintain a higher exercise intensity for longer. BCAAs have also been shown to prevent catabolism during intense bouts of exercise whilst promoting the growth of lean tissue.
Each serving offers a useful and awesome combination of Beta Alanine, Citrulline Malate and Vitamin B5, making Exceed one of the most advanced non-stimulant strength, endurance and energy supplement on the market. By promoting the amount of energy you produce and reducing the presence of fatigue inducing toxins such as lactic acid, Exceed will push your training beyond its normal limitations and amplify your exercise capacity.
Exceed can also be an excellent instrument for those looking to lose weight and reduce body fat without the use of stimulants such as caffeine. Promoting the growth and maintenance of lean body tissue will provide you with an improved potential to burn off stubborn body fat and excess calories. Exceed combines some of the most exciting pre-workout ingredients into one convenient and highly effective supplement.
Add 250 ml of water into our shaker. Then add half an MP large scoop (20g), shake and consume. Use 1-3 times daily. For optimal results we recommend using pre and intra workout. 1 x level MP Large Scoop weighs 40g.

I've used a lot of stimulant based pre- workouts and always got on quite well with them so I found this a little strange you definitely don't get the same buzz from this.. but it definitely works... somehow...do take it as pre and intra like suggested, I found giving it at least 40 mins before training really lets it take affect. I'm trying to bulk at the moment so I'm lifting quite heavy and I'm being fat and lazy with my cardio but this is helping me through the type of work outs I'm doing now.. doesn't taste amazing... but I've had worse.Goes Well With:ice cold water helps it go down..
- (14 / Nov / 2013)
Exceed mixes better than anything else I've used, it tastes pretty good and is super cheap. It does give a great energy boost but you need to time it right or take a spare with you as I tend to crash towards the end of the session.Goes Well With:Creatine Monohydrate and Impact Whey
- (12 / Nov / 2013)
Exceed is an excellent pre-workout for the money and works in well with intermittent fasting diet!
It works for me
- (05 / Nov / 2013)
Doesn't feel as intense as some of the other products I have used. It's a bit more subtle. But as soon as I get warned up I find myself lifting heavier weights for longer. This "could" be psychological. But it seems to work well for me either way. Goes Well With:Weight gain extreme 1 hour before workout. Impact whey after workout.
- (04 / Nov / 2013)
Wow! Loved the effect this had on my endurance during a pretty intense workout. It got me so revved up I even ended up doing extra cardio. The taste however is another thing. I'm finding it extremely sweet, and unlike the other reviewer, I would enjoy this much more if it were a little bit more sour, like real berries.
- (04 / Nov / 2013)
I find MP Exceed highly effective product since it consists of substances that really work and has no unnecessary stuff. Gives a great pump, replenishes you with necessary electrolytes - what more do you need in gym? Excellent product for a relatively small price. The taste could be better though, but we are men, not children, so this should not concern you too much.Goes Well With: Creatine, taurine, caffeine, taurine etc
- (11 / Oct / 2013)
Noticed a big difference in my muscular endurance and it gave me a nice tingly feeling. Unfortunately it tastes very sour but it's worth the taste for training benefits. Makes a nice change from pre workouts that are filled with caffeine . Goes Well With:Water and fast drinking
- (08 / Oct / 2013)
Exceed gives great results and has a nice taste.
- (26 / Sep / 2013)
Worse pre workout ever in my opinion!
- (26 / Sep / 2013)
It's great for pre- or intra workout!
- (19 / Aug / 2013)
I used to use n.o. Xplode v2.0, thought I would give this Exceed a go, it seems to be effective. I tend to use 1 mp small scoop before my workout and 1 mp small scoop in a flask during the workout. It seems quite effective. I will probably buy it again.
Not bad - Not Great
- (14 / Aug / 2013)
Whilst this does give you a the feeling of more energy and bring alertness to your body, the pre-workout doesn't quite give you a buzz that lasts the workout. However as far as value for money (and no caffeine), the product is very good and cheaper than mixing your own pre-workout.Taste is fine. Mixes well. Quite effective (could be better).Goes Well With:HIT
Great for early fasted lifting
- (13 / Aug / 2013)
Being someone who trains better fasted this is a must for me. I follow the renegade diet and this calls for 10g bcaa pre workout.
Exceed is excellent for this, hitting what I need with some extra benefits in there to.
I train for strength/powerlifting and I hit PR's with only this in my system when I train (besides a coffee)
It has bcca in obviously so this never has/will mix all that great but besides the bcca mixing is great! it's priced well even when full rrp.
I think it's working.. Lol
- (10 / Aug / 2013)
Well I've had this Exceed for about 6 gym sessions, and I'm in there for 2 hours, 3 times a week. Doing 2-3 muscle groups, with 6 exercises per muscle group at 5 sets, with heavy weights for mass gains. And well, I have so much energy at the end that I don't want to stop doing more, I have to force myself to stop as I don't want to over-train. So I go home feeling like I didn't give it my all, but the next day. I'm in so much pain, I can still feel my chest workout from 6 days ago, and my biceps from 2 days ago are still extremely sore. I highly recommend this product. Goes Well With:Water
Does the job but won't buy again
- (08 / Aug / 2013)
I've never used pre workout supplements before (except for a one off try of a friend's different branded product) but wanted to try something that would give me the extra energy and endurance in the gym to really make the most of my time and effort.
This product does the job. I get much more from workouts now as I last longer, squeeze out more reps and do more exercises per workout.
However, side effects include extra sweating and a very unpleasant prickly skin sensation if you don't begin working out almost immediately. Especially on the arms and scalp. Feels like prickly heat.
Taste is fine but mixability is very poor in my batch. Even using an electric hand blender I have to spend several constant minutes on high power to get it mixed properly, and even then there is always some grains left.
I will finish the bag as it does what I need and I've paid for it, but I won't be purchasing it again.
Goes Well With:Water.
- (05 / Aug / 2013)
Exceed is a good product. It's helped with my energy levels whilst training and particularly with doing cardio after a weight session. It's not the greatest taste but there's a lot worse out there. It mixes well too.
- (02 / Aug / 2013)
Exceed is very good, it gives me a big boost in the gym. The berry blast taste could be better.
- (01 / Aug / 2013)
I had high hopes for this product, after seeing the high star rating. I was split between pulse v4 and this product, having tried the pulse v4 before I kind of knew what to expect from a pre workout supplement. However, after using the whole bag im fairly disappointed. I only got one real boost after taking this through the course, which is a shame, considering the price. After reading other reviews I see that the tingling sensation on the skin wasnt just me, it was like a hot, itchy tingling sensation, not good. yet, the topical storm was really tasty.
- (29 / Jul / 2013)
Exceed is my second best supplement just after whey protein. For people who are looking for BCAAs but with some extra caffeine-free energy, this is it. It's a fantastic product overall. I bought 2 more pouches myself and I'm using this supplement when I break my intermittent fast before the gym so I don't lose any muscle mass. It's highly recommended for those who wish to reduce carbohydrates in their diet.Goes Well With:Coffee, creatine
- (29 / Jul / 2013)
I chose the tropical storm flavour of Exceed and to put it bluntly, it's horrific. It made me gag! It really doesn't do anything for me performance wise either. I'll be going back to Pulse V4 for certain and won't be using Exceed again.
- (24 / Jul / 2013)
The taste of Exceed isn't too bad. I was surprised by the serving size compared to BCAAs on their own meaning I get less servings per pack than expected but I can't complain since it's on the website. It mixes fine with water. But do not mix it with whey powder, it turns into a foam that triples in volume and takes ages to get down!
worth the price
- (23 / Jul / 2013)
Exceed is a little hard to mix and tastes very strong but not unpleasant. It can cause a little stomach upset until you get used to it.
I've used it a few times for longer runs (12+ miles) and have definitely noticed less fatigue and less post exercise stiffness. I've not used it for weights etc. yet so I can't comment on that aspect.
Effective, but not best tasting
- (16 / Jul / 2013)
Exceed works - I guess that's the most important thing! The Berry Blast flavour is OK, it's drinkable, but it's certainly not what I'd class as enjoyable. It mixed OK, but can be a bit granular and sharp to taste. I'll definitely finish the pouch, and probably buy again, but the taste could certainly be better. Goes Well With:Hurricane XS
- (16 / Jul / 2013)
I needed a bit more energy in the gym, and Exceed is the product to provide it. It's highly recommended.
It does the job
- (14 / Jul / 2013)
Exceed does what it says on the tin basically. The berry blast flavour isn't the best. It doesn't mix very well at all, once you've finished the serving you get a lot of residue at the bottom of your shaker. I'll finish the pouch but I won't be buying it again.
great from intra workout
- (03 / Jul / 2013)
I use this as an intra workout due to the large amount of BCAA. I find it helps with recovery and tastes pretty good though the berry is a little too tart and the tropical could be a stronger. A splash of squash fixes this though a flavour like lemon and lime would be a nice addition to the range.Goes Well With:Caffeine powder
- (01 / Jul / 2013)
Great delivery again from My Protein. This stuff is great whilst working out. It gives you some kind of strength and energy boost. It is full of BCAA. The berry blast wins the taste test as the tropical one was not great. Full of good stuff! Goes Well With:Hard graft.
- (29 / Jun / 2013)
I have been doing the low carb diet and felt tired with leg cramps at night. This Exceed is really helping. I use herbal tea bags and put a scoop of this in and a good shake. I will definitely continue to buy it. Well done Myprotein for this innovative product.Goes Well With:Herbal tea bags such as blackcurrant and Acacia - yummy
- (19 / Jun / 2013)
Had to revisit the site to understand how to take the product as there were no instructions on the packet. Really don't like the pins and needles effect you get with this. Took before and during spinning class - legs felt really heavy and really had to push through it. May finish the bag but because of the odd feelings I wont order again.
- (16 / Jun / 2013)
I'm getting an extra boost when using Exceed. It is definitely going to stay on my supplements list!Goes Well With:Taurine, creatine, caffeine
- (06 / Jun / 2013)
You have to shake the Exceed so hard to mix it properly that it pretty much turns to foam for ten minutes. I won't buy another bag when I'm done, the tingling feeling on your skin is quite odd as well.
- (03 / Jun / 2013)
After a long days work I am normally drained. However, I aim to go to the gym direct from work, otherwise I will never get there if I were to go home.
Since taking Exceed I have definitely felt a change in my sessions for the better. I have been able to lift heavier, for more reps and have more intense sessions. Once my session is over, I find that there is a little bit left in the tank to do any extras!
- (27 / May / 2013)
I've gone through two packs of Exceed, and recently ordered my third. I take it thirty minutes before a work-out, never used it intra-workout. I use this for long runs, but for sprinting in particular. It keeps my energy levels high, and reduces the amount of pain in recovery and during the exercise itself. There is a slight tingling, I just thought I had pins and needles until my brother pointed it out when he tried it. The taste is not great, but good enough (Berry Blast is better than Tropical Storm). Otherwise though, this serves to keep me motivated and has a BCAA mix which is really all I need/want in a pre-workout drink. Would recommend for cardio work outs.Goes Well With:Water
Go that little bit harder
- (20 / May / 2013)
So I've been working out with insanity for the last few months and having given the second month another go I decided to try a pre-workout for that extra kick to see if I could hit the workout harder....and boy oh boy did this work! Exceed just gave me the extra push needed to take less breaks even when I was feeling like I could do with one. I just kept going for that extra set of power jumps or push up jacks.
Now the taste of the tropical storm, which is the flavour I selected, isn't the best. I guess I was a little naive in thinking it would really taste super fruity. But overall it's palatable. However even with a long shake you can't get it to mix all the granules, so if you drink it quick and in one go then you soon get over that.
This was a good purchase and I will definitely be buying this one again when it's finished!
- (12 / May / 2013)
Exceed is good stuff. I use it before running and I feel better. Very good.
- (29 / Apr / 2013)
Exceed product is great as a BCAA supplement. I use 3 half scoops a day, one in the morning, one throughout the day in my water bottle and one intra workout. It really helps with recovery and makes water easier to get down in the morning etc.Goes Well With:Glutamine, creapure
- (23 / Apr / 2013)
I use Exceed as my pre-workout drink to give the body the creatine and amino acids my muscles require for hard gym sessions. It gives focus without the spinning head feel from the highly stimulant based pre-workout drinks.
- (21 / Apr / 2013)
I'm not normally one to write reviews on these types of products as I normally think if theyre average it's not worth it. Only if something is very good or very bad. In this case it's due to Exceed being the latter. I got it absolutely ages ago but it seems to have lasted well. The taste isn't amazing but the results are. Take it prior to training and get a nice buzz and increased focus and energy. If you have it intra-workout it will keep you going for longer. Sometimes if I'm tired I will take caffeine based supps prior to training and take this during sparring (MMA) and I find it keeps me on point and ready after each round. I really have to say I rate this product highly.Goes Well With:Caffeine (if you want the buzz), Endurance workouts and lifting
- (12 / Apr / 2013)
Exceed is a great product that gives a great energy boost and strength boost. It gives you a buzz and lifts aggression. The taste of tropical is OK, maybe a bit sharp but it gives great effects though. Goes Well With:Taurine
Stevie team up
- (08 / Apr / 2013)
Exceed is really effective as a pre and intra workout supplement. I found it more effective than most other pre-workout drinks, you really feel the buzz. It's what I need before a workout, especially if you have been working a busy day and need a little pick up, or to keep getting that extra push during a workout. It tastes great and mixes well. It's an all-round great product!
- (05 / Apr / 2013)
I was looking for something different to give me extra energy and power in the gym. I had read some positive reviews about this product so gave it a try. Whether it's a mental thing or not it makes you feel like an animal in the gym! The extra 5 minutes on the treadmill and additional 2 reps it gives you per set should make it a purchase high on your list of gym supplements!
Best intra workout drink
- (04 / Apr / 2013)
This stuff is very good, by far the best intra work out drink you can buy, I use 30g pre workout and 30g intra workout and add 50 dextrose to both plus some creatineGoes Well With:Dextrose
- (03 / Apr / 2013)
I would recommend Exceed to anyone who trains fasted as an alternative to eating breakfast. Goes Well With:Water
- (02 / Apr / 2013)
Exceed was delivered on time. I can stay motivated in the gym even on the dull days, and it tastes great. 90 minute sessions are no longer a chore and the extra reps are always a bonus. The added iBCAAs take a few minutes to dissolve but the occasional one to chew on is not off putting. I can't say I've felt the tingling from the Beta alanine (perhaps a larger scoop)? The caffeine free option is nice and if I need it, it can be added.
A great product, it will always be in my basket.
Goes Well With:Caffeine, creatine, BCAAs, a heavy session.
- (26 / Mar / 2013)
If you want an effective supplement that works then Exceed is it. It tastes ok, still have some unmixed stuff in the bottom but a quick mix and drink solves that. Great product though.
- (26 / Mar / 2013)
Exceed is great stuff that works! It has a bit of a sharp taste so go heavy on the water. I love the tingle and you really feel like an animal if you take it pre-workout!
- (25 / Mar / 2013)
Excellent is a great product, but the instructions on it are very poor. I take two teaspoons in the morning and two teaspoons at lunch time. I usually take it when I'm running.
Excellent for during workouts
- (25 / Mar / 2013)
Exceed is my new favourite MyProtein product. For a while I have looked for a decent supplement to take during my workout. I find pre-workout stimulants (usually caffeine based) can be powerful, but unless properly timed they don't kick in until mid workout, or can leave you exhausted halfway through.
Exceed tastes great (even when barely able to breathe on the rower), mixes fairly well (a little grainy, but no major issues) and makes a genuine impact on my workouts.
Both cardio and weights based sessions last longer using this. While perhaps not giving the huge energy boost of a typical pre-workout supplement, it is significantly better at reducing fatigue through the workout. Its also good to know my muscles are getting those BCAAs they need right through the workout, not waiting for the shake at the end
Especially if you currently use a BCAA mix on its own, I would highly recommend this.
I use with NOx supplements pre-workout, and then any good whey or all-in-one products post workout. I mix in a little creatine with the Exceed as well.
- (23 / Mar / 2013)
This contains no stimulant (Caffeine) or any Creatine, the main ingredients for a pre-workout. So don't complain when it's not giving you a "pump" or "drive".
This is an intra-workout (during workout) drink, and it's by far the best on the market for the price. I take pulse and Creatine for a pre-workout, and then drink this during my workout as it prevents catabolism of muscle due to the high amount of BCAA and Glutamine it has in.
In short - If consumed during a workout, it's a fantastic product.
Horrible Reaction...but might just be me
- (19 / Mar / 2013)
Am no stranger to BCAA and was using another brand before, but decided to give this one a go seeing as how I pretty much get everything else from MyProtein.
Tried this the first time the other week, mixed reasonably well, but tasted foul. Hit my workout and felt a bit off so didn't push as hard, immediately after my workout I was sick and out for the rest of the day.
Am not quick to draw conclusions and thought it could have been other factors so I gave this another go the other night and same result.
I don't know if it's just me and if other people have had the same reaction, but will not using this product again. It should not however reflect on MyProtein overall as I do think they are a great company with great products. I would though strongly recommend that they offer a sample size of this product so people can try it out first.
