Healthy Meals | Spicy Bean Burger

This recipe is a great addition to your complex carb repertoire, the Spicy Bean Burger is simple and easy to make. It can be frozen in portion sizes for as and when needed and is a great source of protein!

100g – Dried mixed beans or 1x 400g can of mixed beans in water

1 scoop – Myprotein Instant oats

1 – Medium Egg

½ – Medium Onion

1 – Clove Garlic

Chilli Flakes

1) If using dried beans cook then following the instructions on the package, if using canned beans drain them

2) Chop the onion and garlic very finely and put into a bowl

3) Add the drain beans, instant oats, egg and chilli flakes to your liking and salt and pepper

4) Mix thoroughly and evenly spoon the mixture into silicone muffin moulds

5) At this stage you can freeze them then remove from the moulds and put in a bag in the freezer ready to use when needed (Note: they will need to be put back in the muffin mould for cooking and can be cooked from frozen just add 10 minutes to the cooking time)

Or you can cook all in one go then freeze after but I’d suggest you freeze them in the moulds as they are quite soft then remove once frozen.

6) Cook on 190oC for 20 Minutes and serve with hot sauce and mixed salad
