The nights are getting darker and the weather’s getting colder, which can only mean one thing — pumpkin spice is back.

And what better way to enjoy the autumnal classic than in the form of protein-packed banana bread. With 15g of protein, @kirtsyfletcher’s recipe is delicious and nutritious.

Start feeling seasonal with this sweet treat.

Servings
Makes 10 servings.

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe bananas
  • 150g fat-free Greek yogurt
  • 30g clear honey
  • 2 eggs
  • Vanilla Flavdrops
  • 30g sugar-free golden syrup
  • 150g plain flour
  • 100g oat flour
  • 100g Pumpkin Spice Whey Protein
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/3 tsp salt
  • 100g dark chocolate

Instructions

1.

Preheat your oven to 180C.

2.

In a bowl, mash your banana and mix in the rest of your wet ingredients.

3.

Then mix in your dry ingredients, followed by three quarters of your chopped dark chocolate, making sure they are spread out evenly.

4.

Pour your mixture into a lined loaf tin and top with the remaining chocolate chunks

5.

Place in the oven for 20 minutes, then remove covering with a sheet of baking paper stops the top from burning.

6.

Pop back into the oven for another 25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out of the centre clean.

7.

Remove from the oven and allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes.

8.

Then remove the banana bread from the pan and leave for an hour until completely cool before serving

9.

Enjoy!
