I love this protein source. However when taking it on its own straight after a work out I did not rate the taste as it tastes to me like "bog water" (or if any of you have tasted Spirulina it kinda like that but not as bad). However when mixed with other ingredients e.g bananas it tastes much better, it's easily mixed with milks or milk alternatives and is much more appetising
Goes Well With:
Bananas. Peanut butter. Milk/milk alternatives.

Perfect for smoothies, Terrible for protein shakes

On its own the taste leaves a lot to he desired, the consistency is very thick which is perfect for smoothies, if you add some bananas and peanut butter the taste is quite good but it is way too thick to drink as a protein shake after the gym.

Bananas + Peanut butter + Cinnamon + Ice

This is probably the worst protein I have ever tasted. Genuinely nearly got sick after tasting it, if you are looking for an alternative to milk look else wear. In saying that, all other my protein products i have tried are fantastic and i suppose what can you really expect from protein made from peas :)

Have been using pea protein daily in my smoothies for over a year and find it to be easy to mix and digest. I did not get on with whey protein but have not had any digestive problems with the pea protein. The taste takes a bit of getting used to - i put some extra dates in my smoothie at first but soon reduced them. Its not a horrible taste, just a bit unusual! My protein is by far the cheapest source that i have found and as far as I can tell, the quality is great.

avocado, banana, cacao, nut butter and coconut milk

NOT EDIBLE - AVOID

Sorry guys, but this is the worst tasting thing I have ever tasted. Tried to mix it with coconut milk, with almond and coconut milk, with cow milk and cocoa and flavourings, with just water and flavourings, with orange juice, with tropical fruit juice, the overwhelming pea flavour is simply too strong. It makes me puke. I have tried to mix one scoop with three eggs, some peas and onions and I've cooked a frittata but still you could feel that disgusting taste. Maybe this can be used for some baking but it would make no sense with all the extra carbs sugar calories and stuff. I just need to drink this three times a day, possibly with water. This product is not fit for that purpose.

Tastes like pond water mixed with the tears of everyone who has unfortunately tasted it

I'm lactose intolerant, so I'm trying out different non-dairy protein shakes, and by far, this one is the best. It's low in carbs, sugar and high in protein, so is ideal for me, but the one thing I would complain about is its taste. My god...the taste. It's like a nutritionist was asked what texture to give the shake and they walked outside with a mug and scooped out the scummiest pond water, and then engineered it with test subject's tears from the initial taste. It's really that bad. Other than that, I would recommend it - a great product which makes you need to drink about a gallon of water to get rid of the residue in your mouth. Buy some 'Flavdrops' to go with it. It actually improves the taste...by about 1%

Nothing. It's the Devil incarnate.

Pea protein

I've tried hemp and rice protein but this is by far the best. I don't like sweet drinks so the slightly savoury taste is ideal. I mix it with about a scoop of water using a chopstick, to make a paste, then add a little more water to make a cream, finally topping up with oatly or other non-dairy drinks to make it runny. There is the odd lump but they are not unpleasant! It makes a satisfying drink and I don't have a problem with the texture, which is very fine. This is a great product as I want to break free of dairy - it's a cruel industry and the cows suffer greatly to supply the huge and unnecessary demand for milk their calves should be drinking, not us humans.
Goes Well With:
oat and nut milks
