I really love the my spaghetti and my rice version of this product so decided to try the fettuccine. Because the strands are thicker it's very hard and chewy. Very disappointing. In future recommend sticking to the spaghetti (which I would give 5 stars)
Amazing product for anyone who loves pasta but does not want the extra calories/carbs! The texture might seem a bit weird or even off-putting to anyone who is not familiar with shirataki noodles; they need to be properly prepared by rinsing well before frying in a non-stick pan on high, and without oil. The longer they are fried the better the texture (less chewy) and the more flavour they will absorb when the sauce is added. I have tried the spaghetti and penne shaped pastas as well, but I prefer the fettuccine. Goes Well With:Any pasta sauce.
Just had the pasta and tbh it's a very good replacement there's no flavour to them at all they come in a pouch filled with water so there cooked already you just microwave them for 1min or boil for a bit in a pan of water, in your mouth they feel a bit like squid it's the same feel to them without the flavour when you bite through them there a bit softer though.Goes Well With:A healthy low fat home made turkey mince bolagnaise with the myprotein protein cheese on top.
These are good. First time I've tried konjaku was in the US back in 2007. Mixed with mesquite-flavored seasoning and some low-fat cheese they made awesome pasta. I got back to using them when in Singapore - there they even mix seaweed in the noodles "dough", making them almost black in color and amping up nutritional value. Having moved to Cyprus I couldn't find these babies anywhere - and shipping from US is simply too expensive + taxes have to be paid. Luckily MP came into picture with a wide selection of my favorite guilt-free pasta substitute. Fettucine and rice are my favorite shapes, futtucine is gorgeous stir-fried with some fresh mushrooms and egg whites, rice goes nicely and omelettes and with risotto mixes. Btw the liquid in which MP konjaku products are held is not stinky at all compared to those I tried in the US and in Singapore. Kudos for that. P.S.: those of you that don't like the taste, here's what is probably wrong: - you don't use seasoning/sauces with your "pasta" - you have the option to enjoy real-world pasta on regular basis (I only have mine like once a month during one of my cheat days) - you're high on carbs :))) Goes Well With:egg whites, mushrooms, low-fat cheese
