I recently ordered 3 bags of this, and used it for a bit, but got suspicious when it wouldn't dissolve. I had a chemical engineer look at it, and this simply isn't magnesium citrate. It might be some sort of calcium powder, but not sure. Magnesium citrate dissolves completely in water and has a clear taste of citrate. Whatever it is I got doesn't dissolve in water, and has no real taste. Vinegar dissolves some of it, when I tried. It's possible it's just a bad batch and a mixup in production, but until they fix this mistake, I would not recommend buying this mystery powder.
Ok, I've made a big mistake here: I've bought this product without looking ath the reviews. After trying it once, I've looked a tthe reviews and relised the mistake! This powder doen't dissolve even using hot water just brewed, it doesn't taste like citrate and I suspect it may be just useless rather than dangerous! The Magnesium Citrate I was normally using dissolves quickly in warm water, making it "fizzy" as it does so, has the typical citrus taste and reacts with lemon juice and bicarbonate of soda. This doesn't, so I wonder what it really is!Goes Well With:Nothing
This product is - I believe - Trimagnesium Citrate, it's a cheaper commercial form of Magnesium Citrate. It does give you more Magnesium per gram. The downside is that its solubility in PH neutral water is poor. My solution is to add 1/4 teaspoon Malic Acid (maybe a bid less) to each teaspoon of Magnesium Citrate. Gets rid of the taste and in hot water it dissolves completely.Goes Well With:Malic Acid
Very reasonably priced, does what it says. I've been taking this product for about a year now and this is cheapest on market for quantity provided. As we get older women's bodys need more magnesium to support the nervous system. I've been sleeping better and it's helped with constipation too. Happy customer.
I have tried many magnesium citrates. They all tastes more or less the same just acidity level differs from 3-10 and mixability 8-10. “MyProtein Magnesium Citrate” absolutely different: It does not dissolve at all in water and has no taste- 0 acidity, despite its citrate form. This is very strange... I am disappointed and most probably stop using it for good. Goes Well With:Nothing
"I love this supplement. I take a 1/4tsp upon waking, and at bedtime - with a bit of water. It's a little bit sour, and tastes fine. Magnesium calms me like nothing else, and I sleep really well now because of it. It's also very good for your bowels and promotes regularity. Plus, for women, it is fantastic for eliminating monthly hormonal problems - take an extra 1/4tsp per day for days 14-28 of your cycle (with 50mg B6). You lose a lot of magnesium when you sweat (and exercise heavily), and you need more when you are stressed. I increase the dose by 1/4tsp per day at these times. I can't recommend it enough. It's such a fantastic mineral. Google it, to confirm this."
Purchased this and had tried taking it with water but doesn't dissolve well so have to keep swilling glass with water to get full dosage but tastes absolutely vile. Tried as suggested by another reviewer with lemon squash but still tasted as vile. In the end i purchased a capping kit and capsules to make my own tablets :) Haven't been taking it long enough to give any benefits but at least i can take it now :)
initially had a bit of trouble getting it to dissolve properly. i eventually settled on hot water from a just boiled kettle and some robinsons lemon squash, the cordial stuff dissolves right easy with a bit of a stir and it's working as it should. I previously was mixing the water with the juice of a lemon but that tasted a bit ick, wasn't great for my teeth and (whatever else is in the lemon squash) didn't dissolve nearly as well. i can't really compare it to many other magnesium supplements but this works so well for me I don't see myself trying any others anyway. it really is fantastic stuff, I feel so much better for having tried it.Goes Well With:lemon squash hot water
Well, i train regular and have all kinds of supplements to help keep me fit. However for the past few months there have been major building works and major noise disruption all around me.....You can imagine, Sleepless nights, irritable moods, agitation etc etc. Driving me crazy. I read that magnesium helps with nervousness. Magnesium Citrate in particular has been shown to be effective at stress relief. So i purchased some from my protein. I take about 500mg just before bedtime, it mixes well with water and is tasteless. It took around three nights for me to feel a difference. I do seem less bothered about the noise at night and have been able to sleep through ever since taking it
My protein supplements are genuine with no side effects. Anyone who have a dream to built muscles should use these supplements.Today we will discuss about benefits of protein in our body.Protein is in the spotlight these days, with articles touting diets high in protein and advertisements for protein powders in the media. Protein is, of course, an important building block in the body, but it is not the only building block. And furthermore, protein is made up of a variety of substances, with the result that not all protein sources are equal in value. Here are some of the facts about proteins Protein is essential to a healthy heart and a healthy body; animal sources of protein including eggs are better for you nutritionally since they contain all of the essential amino acids; as with most nutrients and vitamins, both too much and too little protein have detrimental effects on the body; and, protein cannot be stocked up like fat but must be eaten daily. Protein is the basic nutrient and plays an essential role in carrying cholesterol and preventing heart disease. The human body in its complexity needs dozens of nutritive substances. The one that stands before all others is protein, or proteins, since there is not one but hundreds of kinds of protein. Here’s what protein contributes We are literally made of protein from our bones to our muscles, arteries and veins, skin, hair, and fingernails. Our heart, brain, liver, kidneys, and lungs are built of tissue made of proteins. Proteins help carry the oxygen that reddens our blood. In the form of enzymes, proteins digest our food, synthesize essential substances, and break down waste products for elimination. When fat and carbohydrates are insufficient, proteins produce the energy we need for life. Proteins in combination with a substance called sterols form hormones, which regulate the delicate chemical changes that constantly take place within the body. The chromosomes, which pass on our characteristics to our children, include protein in their structure. Protein is needed to carry fat and cholesterol throughout the body.
I usually use capsules but decoded to try the powder. It doesn't mix at all, even with warm water. It's really grainy and it just sinks to the bottom of the glass. My Fiancé prefers supplements in powder and even he can't stomach it. Very disappointing purchase. Goes Well With:Nothing
What an easy and cost effective way to get my essential daily dose of magnesium citrate!! I have been paying a fortune for this in the tablet form here in Spain! No more massive tablets to take every day - I just pop this into my morning protein shake and I don't even notice it - FANTASTIC!! I could not be happier with this product!! I've already ordered more :) Magnesium citrate has helped me to cure my Fibromyalgia naturally - I would not be without it. A quick natural fix for constipation too!!Goes Well With:Protein shakes
Have been looking for magnesium citrate. Found this which are of top quality and it*s also cheapest of them all.Goes Well With:Water
Excellent product and an easy way of obtaining this essential element
Doesn't dissolve in water, which means you get a 'gritty' taste. Goes better with thicker, 'gloopier' drinks like orange and mango juice.Goes Well With:Thicker juices, not water
I'm using it for digestion and anxiety, it seems to be working. Although I took too much and it had a laxative effect, albeit not uncomfortable, I wouldn't want to do that again! Service was excellent, I would have liked a measuring spoon supplied, or known it didn't include one. It is grainy and doesn't seem to dissolve - but I drink it with water and it's fine. I Will use Myprotein again.Goes Well With:Water
The best way to but Magnesium. Easily add to food with very little taste. I add it to my morning breakfast of Flax seeds, D-Ribose & coconut milk (the stuff in tine not the rubbish drinks).
Good if you want your muscles be relaxed.
Perhaps I haven't been using this long enough to notice effectivness but it didn't harm me and I do seem to have headaches which is the reason I am taking it for. Tastewise, it's not bad because it has no taste at all. The thing I don't like about this magnesium powder is that it just doesn't dissolve in water. I stir as quickly as I can, but as soon as I lift the glass, all of it is already on the bottom. Tried putting it in a smoothie, can still feel the sandy/chalky texture. I wonder if you can put it in food, like soups? Perhaps then it woudn't be such a pain to consume.Goes Well With:Smoothies I guess, better than water.
If you want to increase your magnesium intake then this Magnesium Citrate will do it.Goes Well With:zinc and magnesium pill
