Put the soy and lactose back in.. this use to be superior.. it had no soy, lactose free and great amino acid profile. Massive shame that this has been changed.
Re-branded. Previously had Sunflower Lecithin instead of Soy. Disappointing step backwards. Hope this is temporary or will look elsewhere.
This is my second batch of Iso:Pro 97. Easy mixing, easy drinking. I feel that as a result of taking this product for a few weeks now, my energy level have increased considerably. I am able to push myself harder each day at the gym. I work out for between 60 and 90 minutes, Monday to Friday - early morning. I usually continue at a good pace until I'm feeling tired, and worked out. I take three shakes per work-out day, one with breakfast, one imediately after training at the gym, and finally one early evening. My recovery rate is good, often I feel a need to work-out in the afternoon, but usually manage to resist. I am finding that OK I get the odd gym injury, but nothing that doesn't clear up quickly - but more importantly is my increased motivation. Whilst this can't be directly attributed to the product, it is definately as a result of how my body is feeling. And that is, I am sure, a result of taking Iso: Pro 97. I mix it with semi-skimmed milk using a blender. I take a mixed shake to the gym and consume it around 2 hours after mixing, I mention this because I have seen other products that state they need consuming within 20 minutes of mixing. Three shakes per work-out day seems to suit my body. My weight loss is not great right now, less than 1.0kg per month, but my body fat is reducing and muscle mass increasing. This is ideal for me. I have lost 18.0kg of fat during the last 18 months, and am now concentrating on bulking up.Goes Well With:Milk
Just went to re-order this and seen that it now contains soy lecithin instead of sunflower lecithin. The only reason I bought this was because it used sunflower lecithin. Will be ordering alternative product from elsewhere.
I bought one from the store before I saw the comment complaining about the change of lactose-free. I'll have a bad time if lactose comes back.
I bought the Iso Pro 97 in vanilla flavour and it's amazing. So far I've made smoothies from it using MP Peanut Butter, banana milkshakes, and my favourite - vanilla latte. I use one large scoop with with 100ml water + a teaspoon of instant coffee, and top it up with 125ml of soya milk. I find the vanilla flavour quite sweet on it's own but it's a great base to mix with other things, and the lvanilla/coffee shake I make every morning actually keeps me full until lunch (with a piece of fruit as a snack). I'm lactose intolerant so this product works perfectly for me. I'd also recommend the strawberry flavour though again it is quite sweet, so I mix this with real berries to sharpen the taste a little.
If you've been searching for a quality powder that's easy on the stomach then look no further. I've honestly struggled for years to find a protein powder that doesnt have...errr... Let's just say adverse effects on my stomach. As promised this literally is pure quality whey isolate with nothing else added (except flavouring and aminos). If you lactose intolerant or just don't get on with matrix proteins or concentrate then seriously give this a try. PRICE: It's definately not the cheapest out of the MP range but considering the protein content per serving it really isn't that bad when you work it out. TASTE: I've only tried vanilla but can't knock it MIXABILITY: This is probably one of the finest powders I've come across. It mixes perfectly smooth and quickly too. No pastey/ grainy texture at all. I can add two full large MP scoops of protein to only 200ml of water and neck it in about three mouthfuls...and that's almost 50g of protein! Majorly impressed with this product. Will buy nothing else from now on! Goes Well With: Instant oats
This is a top end superior high quality whey isolate which i feel is awesome for dieting and deep fat loss stages as it is almost pure protein without any added sugars from lactose or fats, it is one of the fastest releasing protein sources and ideal when consumed post workout with an equal fast acting carb source e.g. such as vitargo or dextrose. The chocolate version is nice and mixes to form smooth easy to consume shakes that provide me with no abdominal discomfort or bloating which sometimes occur with my intolerance to regular whey proteins if they are used in massive doses which are required during the final stages of my fat loss phases to ensure as much lean muscle is preserved as possible whilst maintaining high workout intensity levels. If you are after a super high quality lactose free isolate then this is one of the best i feel available. if you found any value in this review then please use code: GEOFF - RDT (no space in between dash and letters) and all in capital letters at checkout to get up to 85% off order depending on current offers, thanks and i hope this was of benefit to you :). Goes Well With:water post workout due to being a very fast releasing protein.
My protein supplements are ideal for bulking up muscle mass. It has great taste with many different flavours.. Today we will discuss about benefits of protein in our body.Protein is in the spotlight these days, with articles touting diets high in protein and advertisements for protein powders in the media. Protein is, of course, an important building block in the body, but it is not the only building block. And furthermore, protein is made up of a variety of substances, with the result that not all protein sources are equal in value. Here are some of the facts about proteins Protein is essential to a healthy heart and a healthy body; animal sources of protein including eggs are better for you nutritionally since they contain all of the essential amino acids; as with most nutrients and vitamins, both too much and too little protein have detrimental effects on the body; and, protein cannot be stocked up like fat but must be eaten daily. Protein is the basic nutrient and plays an essential role in carrying cholesterol and preventing heart disease. The human body in its complexity needs dozens of nutritive substances. The one that stands before all others is protein, or proteins, since there is not one but hundreds of kinds of protein. Here’s what protein contributes We are literally made of protein from our bones to our muscles, arteries and veins, skin, hair, and fingernails. Our heart, brain, liver, kidneys, and lungs are built of tissue made of proteins. Proteins help carry the oxygen that reddens our blood. In the form of enzymes, proteins digest our food, synthesize essential substances, and break down waste products for elimination. When fat and carbohydrates are insufficient, proteins produce the energy we need for life. Proteins in combination with a substance called sterols form hormones, which regulate the delicate chemical changes that constantly take place within the body. The chromosomes, which pass on our characteristics to our children, include protein in their structure. Protein is needed to carry fat and cholesterol throughout the body.
Been using this protein for months as I am lactose intolerant and this used to be lactose free. Ever since they changed the ingredients (for absolutely no reason) I have had spots all over my back and arms as well as a constant bad stomach. The chocolate flavor also tastes like a chemical bath. I switched to bulkpowders and their version is cheaper, AND lactose free AND tastes like freshly baked brownies, no lie. Completely ditched myprotein. They will probably delete this review as they have deleted other 1 stars that were left for the exact same reason. Goes Well With:Soil or garbage.
Describing the effects of whey protein is always tricky, as the effects are not immediate like, say,a pre workout. So i will give a personal opinion on the taste etc and i will explain the effects it had on my body and my training regime. The product is very well presented, with a clear and visible list of ingredients, a solid pouch, and an airtight lock. The smell is pleasant, the consistency is fine, and the mixability is excellent in cold water, with little to almost no shake needed. The taste is intense (assuming you respect the indicated dosages) and not too sweet. It will leave you feeling full and will not leave a bad smell in your shaker cup if you forget to rinse it. On a side note:i have mixed the unflavoured one with boiling milk 3 times, and every time it solidified and was impossible to mix the whey anymore. It was probably my mistake, regardless, remember that. As for the effects, i used whey concentrate from top brands for months to supplement my protein intake, but i had all sorts of disappointments, like feeling bloated to the whey tasting poorly and i felt like i drank cocoa milk as i saw no results...My muscles obviously didnt get enough protein, and my training regime saw no improvement, as i felt weak and my muscles didnt grow (my regime is 5x5 Stronglifts, a strength program). After looking for the top rated whey isolate, i came across Iso:Pro on Labdoor, ranking at nr1. And it deserves that spot...After a couple months, i can say that i feel well fed after a good shake, and my muscles are full and strong. I improved my lifts by a substantial margin, and i couldn't have done it with just food, as i don't have the material time to eat many meals. Iso:Pro has been a great aid and i don't intend going back to any other brand. Goes Well With:Warm milk and oats.
Switched back to Iso Pro after a few tubs of branded protein & have to say the taste & mixability is miles behind ... it goes down well enough if I close my eyes & visualise the gains Goes Well With:equal parts determination & water
Product arrived pretty quickly. Just started using it so I can't really say how effectiove it is BUT I can say with assurance that the vanilla taste is dreadful. I work in the food ingredients industry and guys whoever did your flavouring I'd suggest getting your money back.Goes Well With:A better flavour!
Good taste in fact all of these protein shakes are good. I would say the ones I am not so keen on are the ones starting with 'Natural xxxx'. They do not taste natural, they are less natural tasting than the ones that don't say natural but that's my opinion, I don't have as sweet a tooth as some. Definately better tasting shake out of many on the market and i have tried quite a few and thrown them away.Goes Well With:Milk Water Or blend with either of the above and other fruits.
Really pleased with my purchase. I can confirm that there is no lactose in this product. I've tried the other MP isolates and although they say minimal lactose, I did experience some unpleasant reactions....so if you're like me and have a lactose intolerance this is the protein supplement for you. I purchased both the Vanilla flavour and the Chocolate flavour. The Vanilla could benefit from a stronger tasting flavour but is very palatable all the same. I cannot recommend the Chocolate flavour enough. I mix it with soya milk (which is an acquired taste in its own right) The result is a shake that tastes better than anything I've had before...it's awesome, I could drink gallons of this stuff!Goes Well With:A Smartshake Shaker!
It is a great product for value of money too!Goes Well With:Personally I am buying unflavoured because it is worth to buy 4kg of whey. I am mixing it with skimmed milk and it taste amazing. But that is just personal view.
I got the unflavoured option, so if you're looking for something that tastes good, this definitely isn't for you. I've been using it as a post workout shake and it really does work. I don't take as long as I did to recover from workouts, I'm less sore and I'm actually starting to see slight definition. I haven't been using it that long, so I'm not sure how well it'll work in the long run but it's looking good. There aren't any unnecessary ingredients or extra calories, so it's great and I'd definitely recommend it who want to build lean. Goes Well With:Milk
Was looking for a high protein, low carb shake. This fits the bill. Mixes Ok, does need vigorous shaking, a bit watery with water but still more than fine, better with almond milk. Banana cream, chocolate and strawberry flavours tried, all good. Great as an after workout snack or during the day when hunger attacks!!!
I never write reviews but felt this was worthy of one. I have never liked MP flavours before. Having had numerous Hurricane XS types, all made me feel sick and the taste was fowl. People who say taste does not matter are lucky. To me it does. If I am having it for breakfast I need to enjoy it. It needs to be nice. Decided to switch to a pure protein. ISO 97 fit the bill. I went with Banana Flavour. Well Its really great. one scoop in 250 ml of milk, it mixes 100%. no bits or lumps. The taste is the best thing, considering its just protein with no added extras it tastes the same as a frijj milkshake. I can have it on its own. I have had the banana milk on cereal etc. Its a real pleasure to drink. No bloating, no indigestion , no mud bottom. If you are worried about taste but was a decent protein. This is the one. I cant comment on its effectiveness having had it 3 weeks but their is no reason it wont assist. Its protein after all. Goes Well With:Milk is better then water.
Firstly, I thought the price was excellent. I was also pretty impressed with the product and especially the speed of delivery. However, I have an issue with the taste...I bought the "natural banana" flavour, which I found had an unsusal aftertaste and smell (it reminded me of cold medicine), I haven't tried other flavours, so it might just be that one. I also find it takes a lot more shaking to mix than other products I have tried...it does mix...eventually. it also becomes an odd colour when mixed (bright yellow, rather than banana colour). overall, I would say its a good product, just with a few minor problems.
